(((((((((((( Faithie )))))))))))))))
It's so good to see you're still working at getting to that new normal !!! It'll get here with each step you take forward, and even the ones you have to take backward....they level out in the end and then there will be relief, contentment and maybe......juuuuuuust maybe you might even breathe the words "hey, I can live like this....it ain't bad at all". "Afterall, I AM cancer free (what a gift) and all the necessary parts work the way they were meant to work. I'm able to encourage others who are just beginning this journey....to give hope and calm in the midst of their storm".
Everybody heals differently......some quicker, some slower, some emotional and some not so emotional. One of the first things my oncologist told me (and I remember it still) is no two breast cancer patients are alike....you may have the same diagnosis, same treatment, but no two are alike. So, I learned not to compare my healing process or my emotional feelings with others. God made us all different (and boy, am I so glad He did)...LOL.
Just know....and keep reminding your heart....that you ARE going to be fine. And in some ways, time DOES heal. The further out from surgery you get, the scars will be less noticeable, tender, sore......your rom in your arm will take longer, but just work it.....dance with it...play music with it...and one day you'll realize all of a sudden, that "hey, it's better".
Just hang in there Faithie!!! If ANYBODY can do it--------------YOU CAN!! We all have full faith in you...we'll hold your hand, push, pull, drag, carry...whatever we need to do to help you along with the process. Sometimes, you may just need to let us know what it is you DO need from us.
We love you Faithie!!!
Let go-----let God!
I'll Be Here
I cannot ease your aching heart,
Nor take your pain away;
But let me stay and take your hand
And walk with you today.
I'll listen when you need to talk,
I'll wipe away your tears;
I'll share your worries when they come,
I'll help you face your fears.
I'm here and I will stand by you,
On each hill you have to climb;
So take my hand, let's face the world...
And live just one day at a time.
You're not alone, for I'm still here,
I'll go that extra mile;
And when your grief is easier,
I'll help you learn to smile!

Coonie, my Cooniest.
I have come back several times through out the day to read & reread your post.
You are such a marvel to me.
Many hugs, team. Many hugs.
I continue my walking efforts: totalled 60 minutes for the first time.
Much love.

Sending great big hugs to our sweet sister Faith.......I found a small journal with the name Faith on it......I immediately thought of you, Faith.....Actually it wasn't a name more of just the word Faith and then a scripture about faith......i can't remember exactly what it said, but it described you to a Tee!.......

Walking a bit further every day. 2 times daily when ever possible.
Attempting to get ready for our Valentines Dance on Sat. My right arm 'extension' is still quite limited, but we've been practising to see what I can tolerate -- and we'll be 'OK' -- no invitations from dancing with the stars this season. LOL.
I'm working on a project in Movie Maker and having a ball learning how to manipulate my photographs for maximum effect.
It's great to have the time and energy to work on creative projects.
Love to all.

Faith, sounds like you're handling this whole healing thing way better than many others, despite your own doubts, which are themselves totally rational! My heart goes out to you, my prayers go up for you, and my cyberhugs surround you.

Today I'm four weeks out.
Hip-hip-hooray!!
I'm very reflective today, having had a lengthy, heart-to-heart with Saint about what it means to be a friend, when the chips are down.
You gals are the best. It takes my breath away to realize that you are cheering me on. I've decided NOT to feel guilty about your kindness, but instead want you to know how much it has meant to me -- to come here and find affirmation, friendship, encouragement and love.
It has meant the world, when the skies were gray.. or maybe it was my mood?
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Just before I spoke with Saint, my phone rang with an OH number that was not identified. It turned out to be a preschool director from home..... not someone I know personally, but she "knows" me (my work) and has attended my workshops in the past.
Anyhow. She was just dx with BC. She will have her surgery on Mon. She hit a rough patch this morning and knew who she could call and somehow tracked down my number.
It feels "good" to me, that I have been very candid with my BC journey, in my professional life. We can indeed support one another when the chips are down.
You've done that for me and I will repay your kindness to others.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Faith,
I just had to reply when I saw this conversation. I was dx'd 3 years ago with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Mastectomy was definitely required for the affected breast, optional for the other one. Well, kind of ... you see, Mother Nature was very, very generous to me and I would have had to have breast reduction on the clean breast if I went for reconstruction! And no guarantee on symmetry. So, I decided to go all the way, reduce it to flatness! Now, for the first time in my life, I can enjoy going bra-less, and when I want, I have different size foobies from which to select , depending on the occassion! I LOVE HAVING THE CHOICES!
That said, I plan to celebrate my 5th cancerversary with nipple reconstruction, so I have somethin besides pasties to make the t-shirt a bit more interesting ...:)

Faithie!!!! Four weeks......wowzers! It only gets better from here.
Wishing you a wondermous Valentine's Day!! Hope and praying it's very special for you!
-
Karen, welcome to my cheering section. LOL.
That's what it seems like, but we're all here to cheer each other.
We're goin' dancin'...... we're goin' dancin'......we're goin' dancin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tonight is our Community wide Valentine's Day dance, with d.j. and all the trimmin's.
This will be my first biggie event, sporting my fluffies held in place my shelf bra of sporty top. I have the prerequisite red ruffled blouse. Last night we went shopping for maybe a new pair of black pants?? (Pretty informal by our standards.)
Anyhow. The whole HUGE store. The tons and tons and racks and racks of choices to wear with my red blouse. You guessed it. I bought a navy blue skirt with white polka dots. I am a NUT for polka dots. Bordering on obsession??? It's knee length with a flippity gathered/ruffle/swishy perfect for swing dancing hemline.
I'm a happy camper!!!!
Twill report back on the fluffies staying in place for the dancing.
***Oh the stories I can envision. LOL.

We did have a ball!!!
He had gotten the d.j. to play "our" song and we danced the night away!!
Yes. Of course I "paced" myself and managed NOT to over-do it.
Today we have an afternoon party-potluck with the other home-owners in our 'section.'
That will be my one thing for today.
Hope that everyone has some love today.
