Congrats Pat on the new grandbaby.....I love babies as they always seem to put a smile on my face.....
This heat is horrible......I have pretty much not left my apartment.....I had my exchange surgery on 6/21 so I've basically been laying REALLY low and not doing a thing....I actually ventured out today to the grocery store......
Other than that, not much going on here........I'm really happy with my new 'happy boobies'....Its quite a change, and I can't seem to stop looking at them.....I've never been able to go with out a bra and now I will be able to....but I have to lose a few more pounds in the tummy area...I would love to start walking, but this heat is crazy....
Hope all is well with everyone........
Hugs......... -
Hi ladies-My name is Michelle I just recently found this board.I was dx. in Mar. of 2005 with 1.9 cm IDC-er/pr+ & her2+++.I had a lumpectomy in Apr. and have completed 4AC.Last week I started Taxol & herceptin.I'am looking forward to finishing radiation.I have a son who is almost 2 and a daughter who is almost 15.I have to say they have kept me moving through the treatments.I'am orginally from Commerce, but now in the Howell area.I would love to speak with other survivors here in Michigan.

DebraLynn, Judy, Candi and Gerri:
Thank you so much for the good wishes on the birth of my first grandchild. She really is a joy and a blessing from Heaven!!! I'm still in Milwaukee with my daughter and will probably be home about the 11th of July.
DebraLynn:
Saw in another post that you discovered a lump under the opposite arm. I am sending up many many prayers that this will be nothing but a B9 cyst!!! Please post and let us know how it goes, okay??
Sending warm wishes to all of my Michigan sisters.
Blessings,
Pat -
Hi Darlins,
I've been thinking about all of you! Pat - congratulations on the grandbaby! I know, I've been AWOL for a long time. I'm doing good and enjoying the summer.

Nancy -
Hi Ladies! I haven't attended a get-together since the first one when I had just been diagnosed. I have had so much trouble with infections & the second half of chemo, but may actually be getting better even though I'm still on IV antibiotics. When is your next get together & where?
Ann -
Hi Pat, thanks for the prayers. I went to the doctor today and he confirmed that there was a lump under my right arm right at the end of my breast. He ordered another mammogram and ultrasound. I called the hospital as soon as I could and the earliest they could get me in is July 12.
I will keep everyone posted, please keep me in your prayers. Thanks
hugs, -
Hi Michelle,
Welcome to the MI board! Howell is SO beautiful, almost moved there about 10 years ago but didn't want to uproot the children at that time.
You must be VERY busy with a 2 year old and 15!!I have two girls, one just turned 16 and one 17 who just graduated from high school.
Good luck with the rest of your treatments.
How did everyone fare during the storms? Finally cooled down though.....
Hugs, -
Hi ladies,
Welcome Michelle, although this is a club no one wants to join, we're glad you found us. I'm hoping to catch up with everyone this summer at another get-together.
Glad to see you back on the boards Nancy!
Gerri -
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend. We went upnorth, got a bit too much sun, went running, went hiking, had a campfire, and probably ate too much!
Are we going to get together this Summer? -
Hi Pat:
It has been a while since I have been on the Boards. I was in DC on business and then on vacation for 2 weeks. Congratulations on your new grandchild. We have one grandchild and I understand the special feeling you are having for your granddaughter!! i didn't think I would like being a grandmother; however, it has been more than five years and am enjoying every minute.
Once more congratulations!

Hi. This is Shari from Southfield Michigan. Had left mastectomy 1-31-05. Had 6 treatments of dose dense 2-25-05
through 5-15-05. Started radiation, June 8th. On # 24 and boy oh boy, my arm has so much tightness and soreness. Some skin broke through. So uncomfortable. I go through Beaumont Hospital. Anyone else have similar situation? Would love to hear from you at Shariwest@aol.com -
Hi Shari! from Shari in Big Rapids. When I started to get burned from the radiation, I was given some Biafine ointment, it helped a lot to keep it from getting any worse, and I kept using it after radiation was done, to help it heal up faster. I also took vitamen E on the recommendation of my doctor to help it heal.
I was just checking out the new website out local hospital has. Found pics of my oncologist and staff. They are the best so I am proud to show them off!
http://www.mcmcbr.com/specialty_clinics.asp
My doctor, Dr.Pawl, is in the top pic on the right in the red shirt, he's like a big teddy bear!
In the second picture, are the oncology nurses, Linda and Kathy, they are the best! And Cinda is the nurse who is at the clinic all the time, helping out all the doctors, she is a great person too! -
Hey MI gals......How is everyone......??? Good I hope......Just wanted to let you know that Channel 7 is running a special report tomorrow night at 6:00p on why some communities have more cases of bc.......I'm sure you'll be able to check it out online after the report..... www.wxyz.com ....Just thought some of you might like to see it or read it.......
Hugs to you all.......

Hi there,
I was just thinking about our next get together. Someone mentioned a park? How about September 10th? That would get us thru the busy summer and we would still have warm weather. -
Nancy,
Thank you so much for asking..actually I flew down to Fort Myers on July 14 and my mother passed away on the 19th. It has been one of the toughest things I have had to deal with-even more so than the breast cancer crap last year. I've pretty much gotten everything tidied up and hope to be back in Michigan next week.(hopefully)
I really miss my mother. This condo of her's is a constant reminder of the things we used to do. And, I have not even had the free moment to grieve. Since you asked I am pasting a copy of her obit-she was beautiful as she was generous. Please feel free to share with the board if u wish.
I hope you are okay too. Thoughts with you as well dear:-)
Your friend, Lorie

Lorie Ann:
So very sorry to hear about your dear sweet Mom!! She sounds like she was one 'heck of a lady!' Moms can never be replaced but know that she is in your heart forever and that she is looking down on you and smiling. My own Mom passed away 18 years ago and I miss her to this day but with time the missing becomes more bearable and you can smile when you look at her picture etc. etc. Sorry didn't mean to go on but just want you to know I understand and I send my love and prayers.
God bless,
Pat -
LorieAnne,

Judy -
Hello All,
Many thanks to all of you about the kind words that you expressed to me in regards to the passing of my mother. I really appreciated it.
I arrived home (temporarily) on Monday night and I cannot even to begin to tell you how totally exhausted I am. I managed to get her place in reasonably good shape; but, will be going back in September for a final close date on her condo. (CAN you believe I received 6 calls about selling her condo; the area in which she lived EVERYOne wants to live there!
Anyways, I could really use a lunch/dinner out..anyone want to put together an outing? I'm really too preoccupied to think correctly; but, I would love to do something in the Plymouth area.
I hope everyone is doing well. Did I tell you I think my left implant may be leaking? I haven't even called the doctor yet. UGH.
I hope all of you had a great summer. Pat, congrats on your new grandbaby..I'm sorry--just been a space cadet of late. CONGRATS!!!
Ok...I am off to the PO..Let me know what the thoughts are everyone.
Thanks again, Lorie -
Would love to get together in Sept. I think someone mentioned the 10th? That weekend would be about the only that would work for me.
Gerri -
Count me in. The 10th works for me. I look forward to seeing everyone again!
-
The tenth sounds great to me too......
Hugs.......
Candi -
The 10th is fine, would it be for lunch? I hope so, because I have plans that evening, hubby's band is playing in Westland. It's their first 'gig' in a long time! I would love to see you all again!
-
The 10th sounds great...lets plan on a place.
Chris -
Wish I could come! Hockey season has started again and will be in Michigan this weekend but not next. I will be there in spirit. Maybe next time!
-
Should we consider the same place, Olive Garden in Novi or try another location to get some east siders?
-
What time are we thinking about...1:00?
