Hi Steph,
I have had the same thing done, although not on the SNB side. There is A LOT of swelling and some very pretty bruising should come along as well. You may even have some numbness issues for awhile, but it does all come back and the end result is very nice!
Hang in there!
-
HEAL STEPH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let us know how the swelling goes,,
Ta Ta's... Susie NEEDS OUR PRAYERS!
If you pray... if you believe... she needs ALL OFF US TO JOIN IN.
Father,
Susie needs help. I believe You can take care of this as You are the only healer. Please Father, heal Susie. She is in pain and her wounds are not getting better. I ask this only in Your name... Amen,
Ladies... join me in saying AMEN if you prayed with me... and if you do not pray.. just please keep our Ta Ta Sister Susie in your thoughts.... Amen.
Laura

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Also Steph I hope things are going better
-
Amen! Susie sending you healing thoughts.
Steph, the swelling definitely took awhile. My PS told me 3-6 months for all the swelling to go down and I would say that is probably correct. I had my surgery early in June and my swelling didn't go completely down for several months. However, it seems like the majority of it went down all at once. It took a good couple of weeks though.
Keep drinking lots of water! Hang in there.

OK girls...I beg you to pray hard for our dear Susie. This is the 3rd year in a row that she will not be home for Christmas. She has been in the hospital since a week ago Sunday. They had to do emergency surgery and she is in icu. I will copy and paste from facebook from her husband and her sister.
Bryan from Dec 17: still no end in sight............. Dr. called in new set of eyes to help. Susie temp got up to 103.5 last night and run 102+ most of the day.they had to put in a central because the I.V. got infected. also had to change to the vanctamiason(?). they think the other may have been the problem with the high temp.... still hoping to have her out of there before christmas.
Bryan from Sat Dec 19th:Hi all. sorry I missed last night. I did put a post on my site last might thinking it was Susies. After a week of all this its hard for me to remember what I'm doing. news on Sus is there are now 3 drs. here in Hood River working on her and the infection team at OHSU. the feeling is there is a problem with the mesh a...gain. they are going to prep her for surgery tonight and check on her in the morn.
Bryan from Sat Dec 19th: if things dont look better they will have to take it out again. they do have her on antibiotic (3 different ones and no I dont remember all the names) and are hoping this will help take care of the problems. They really dont want to cut on her any more. thanks for all the love and prayers. they are helping in this very hard time!
Carol Susie's sister Yesterday Mon Dec 21st: Please, When will this end!! ~ Calling All Angles ~ My sister Susie is heading in for emergency surgery at this moment. She has been in the Hood River Hospital since last Sunday. Two days ago they found that her high temp. was due to another staph infection. Today it erupted and they have to do surgery to clean out the... infection.... SO please somebody make her whole again so this family can begin to heal from the events of these past three years.
Bryan yesterday Mon Dec 21st: Hi all, well Susie had to have surgery today. it started last night, swelling till it come to a head. This morning it blew, breaking the flood gates open. She did have a form of mersa but they still dont know what kind or where she got it. they went in to clean it all out, Take a look at her inners (didnt find any reason for infection) and take the mesh out. they wanted to get rid of all the junk in her. she will have to stay in the hospital till Sunday. Have to let Santa know where we'll be at.
I will get Bryan's email addy so we can send personal emails to him. Poor guy has been taking care of their daughter Aurora who JUST turned 6....plus trying to be with Susie...and then there is Christmas. I know it just kills her not to be home with Aurora and her husband for Christmas. We just need to pray hard. She has been through SO MUCH!
TATA SISTERS UNITE!!!

Susie - my thoughts are with you and your family. I hope they get the infection cleared up SOON!
I have been out of pocket on this thread and I have no valid excuse! It is good to read and catch up with everyone.
On a personal note, I had my first mammo on Monday and I was given the "all clear" but this was after they scared the crap out of me by asking for additional pictures and an ultrasound to the point I threw up when I got back home and didn't eat much for the next couple of days.
The tamoxifen is packing on the weight and it makes me sick to see myself. I am heading to San Francisco for 10 days in January 13th through 23rd so when I get back I am going to get a membership at the rec center and hire a personal trainer 1x per week and get this freaking weight off. I can't have any reconstruction done until I lose 30 lbs that I gained because I have a feeling if I lose it after reconstruction my boobs will hang. So my goal is 30 lbs by May and to keep it off and have surgery and look good for Reunion #2! My hair is GROWING! Starting to feel like a normal person instead of "cancer girl" although I am playing the cancer card as I refuse to shovel snow this winter!
My horse is doing great other than living in 2' of snow up in the mountains. Hopefully a stall will come available pretty soon. I have been told I can move her out of the elements by the end of this month. I have been riding her regularly and that helps with my stress level although I shouldn't complain since so many of you are facing surgeries, have just completed surgeries, etc. Sorry Daisy6 about your dog, Daisy - hope she is feeling better.
-
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays Ladies!
I too will say a prayer for Suzie's recovery. Where I work, (at a nursing home) the chaplain takes prayer requests and I will put one in for Suzie. All the elderly residents pray in response to the requests. The more on Suzie's team, the better.
-
Merry Christmas Everyone!!! and a special Christmas blessing for Susie!
Love ~ Peg
-
I also want to wish all of the TaTa's a very Merry Christmas!

HI SISTERS,
IT IS WITH A HEAVY HEART THAT I TELL YOU THAT MY YOUNG 29 YEAR OLD FRIEND HAS LEFT THIS EARTH AND IS NOW IN HEAVEN. SHE LEFT US YESTERDAY AND I WAS IN THE ROOM WITH HER WHEN SHE WENT. HER 2 SMALL KIDS WILLBE RAISED BY THEIR FATHER AND GRANDMOTHER. THEY ARE SO LOVED!
HER NAME IS TRACI JACKSON AND SHE WAS AN AMAZING WOMEN. A REAL DIVA! SHE WAS DX IN SEP OF 08. HER CANCER HAD ALREADY SPREAD WHEN SHE WAS DX. SHE DID EVERYTHING SHE COULD TO LIVE FOR THOSE BABIES....CHEMO,MASTECTOMY, RADIATION, HERCEPTIN, TYKERB AND MORE CHEMO FOR HER LUNGS. THE CANCER WAS JUST SOOOOOOO DAMN AGRESSIVE! BUT SHE FOUGHT A SOLID STRONG FIGHT. NOW I CAN SAY SHE IS CANCER FREE AND HER SOUL IS HAPPY. WHEN SHE WAS HERE WITH US SHE LIVED HARD AND JOLLY SHE WAS A WONDERFUL WOMEN WHO TAUGHT ME ALOT ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO REALLY LIVE!! HER CHILDREN WILL KNOW ABOUT THE LOVE SHE HAD FOR THEM AND HOW HARD SHE FOUGHT TO STAY HERE WITH THEM BUT I GUESS THE LORD NEEDED HER TO WATCH OVER THEM. I JUST THOUGHT I WOULD TELL YOU ABOUT HER BECAUSE SHE WASNT JUST MY SISTER...SHE WAS OUR SISTER. JUS THOUGHT YOU SHOULD KNOW.
LOVE YA LADIES,
TRACEY
PS SUSIE I AM PRAYING FOR YOU RIGHT NOW!
-
Tracey,
Im so sorry to hear about your friend and Im just so sad that her children had to lose such a great mom.
Take care of yourself...can't wait to see you again in January!
Teresa
-
Tracey, so sorry to hear about your friend. She was way too young to go but as you say she is now cancer and pain free.
-
As you know Tracey... I am sorry for the loss of this great gal named Tracy Jackson. Her family has been prayed for by me...
-
Tracey,
It breaks my heart to hear of anyone who loses their battle, but especially someone so young. Being a mother myself, I know it must have been horribly difficult for her to know she was leaving her children. May she rest in peace.
xoxo
Tracy

Tracey - I am so sorry to hear about the death of your friend. I am so glad you were able to be with her. I am sure that brought peace to her and her family. Robin

My Dear Wonderful TA TA Sista's!!! It's so very hard for me to type right now with tears streaming down my face for all the LOVE & PRAYERS you all have shown!!! Not only for me,,but for all of us. My Heart goes out to the family who lost Tracy's Friend-our sister!! It also made me realize how precious life is & how far we have all come & the strength we have as a mighty group of Pink Warrior's.Came home on the 28th, 16 days-8 of them in ICU, my Dr. was overjoyed at the outcome of the surgery, could've been far worst-he said to me the next day to Thank his God(Jewish) my God-we got lucky.....I had my Dear family of Friends & TATA Sista's praying for me. My Prayers are out to all of you along with deepest sincere Thanx & Hugs with LOVE for the continued support. I'll be doing alot of resting this new year-not jumping back to my usual self as quick as before. Still eminic, on 3 antibiotics & 2 different pain meds-one is a patch & then I have a wound vac attached to the 7-8 inch incision they made(unsure how deep)-suppose to help the process of healing faster. It only weighs about 2lbs & you can carry it like a shoulder bag.
So Girls-I want to Thank you all again for truely making me feel the Love & warmth from you all & wish you all a very Safe/Healthy/Loved felt Happy 2010 New Year!!!!!
Take care Chow GOD BLESS XOXOXOXOXO Susie
