In your honor Saint I am trying to make my new mantra 'acceptance'.
-
Sometimes the hardest thing to do is stay put when all you want is to be there to hold a hand, kiss a cheek, or sit quietly by your loved one as they sleep. I can only imagine how hard it is for you both. We are here for you Saints_Sister. I hope we can help you deal with this turn of events, and accept that it's most important to honor your sister - no matter how hard it is.

Beautiful Saint, I'm praying for you sister in strength! Faith, thank you for offering us all guidance to pray for what Saint needs, acceptance.
-
Saint, please know that we are with you in spirit, and that at every hour of the day or night, one or more of us somewhere in the world is thinking of you, praying for you, your family and friends and your doctors and nurses. Feel the warmth and comfort of those thoughts and prayers, and know that even when the room looks empty, you are never alone.
We are blessed to have "known" you here. Meeting you on these boards made my life better, my struggle with this disease easier, and I thank-you for that.

I haven't read these posts, but I see a chance to FINALLY connect with my sweet sister! We have missed each other at every turn--seems impossible!!!! I am trapped in a sick body & unable to be in control & there is my Mo, heart breaking & feeling abandoned & definitely misunderstood!!!!!!
We have NOT told anyone we don't want them here---but even without those words the reality is exactly that!!!
I want to let you all know that Mo is the strong ,in-charge sister! She is brilliant & loving & a very unique person. I never expected such a reaction from her. Reading what she has written should make us all stop & see-----what happens to us is happening to them even if we can't seem to raise out heads & focus outside out own pain........
There is only ONE way for me to do this right now--we have not been given a time line (Nor would I accept one!) For me this is like labor: I am in it alone....I need to turn in & be left to my own devices-------TRUST that calls WILL be made at appropriate times!!!!!! (it is NOT yet time) I know that I will do my bewst to get here once a day if I can---for you my sweet sis-----I feel your loneliness & am so sorry for any pain this is causing-------
Deep breath dear sis-----tomorrow the sun will rise & your day will unfold with the same normal rhythm of 3 or 4 weeks ago.....and so it continues.....
Drugs have kicked in---hope not too soon for me to nake you know I LOVE YOU!
be well & stay strong

Saint,
You make so much sense. God Bless you and comfort you. I so get your analogy about labor, prayers, vibes and supportive thaughts abound for you across each and every day. You have touched and helped so many. And so many want but the best for you,
Wishing you all the good and peace that you can possibly tap into at the moment. And wishing you as restful and pain free a day as can be.

Acceptance has many layers.
Something of an onion.
Just when I think I'm making progress, I realize that I'm still on the surface.
How great to hear your voice, Pat. How blessed to cry with you.
I'm so proud of you.
Labor on my sister. Labor on. Your work is significant. Help us to acceptance.
Strength and courage.
Strength and courage.
Strength and courage.

Hey Pat
Left a message on your cell the other day ... good to at least hear your voice there! Remember as you're going through this 'labor' to take all those deep breaths girlfriend. This just sucks, doesn't it? Lots of gentle cyber hugs going out to you Saint. Our movie was on the other night ... I had shared with another chatter the Vegas story and she called me to make sure I knew the movie was on ... how sweet was that? Love you girl. -
((((Saint)))) Good night....sweet and pleasant dreams----I'll pray for no pain and for there to be total peace in your mind and heart.....for you and your sweet family.

(copied from the other thread)
Where to begin??
I have just been on the phone at length with Saint. She's had a very challenging day. She had a 'rally' where she felt fantastic -- to the point of wanting to insist with her onc that they resume treatment/find an alternative treatment to explore...... they were talking about letting her go home on Thurs.
Kaboom.
Her spleen ruptured.
It is a Stage 1 rupture. She will have another CT scan tomorrow to determine the course of action. She has been meeting thru out the afternoon w a variety of specialists -- to determine whether she has the strength to withstand surgery & the recovery process.
We laughed.
We cried.
We laughed some more.
Apple. The hymn that you posted above is one of Pat's favorite hymns. She knows the words by heart. We literally sang the first verse together -- to each other. (That was one of our major crying segments of the phone call. To say we lost it, is an understatement.)
She is to lay flat. Not to move. Not to cough.
Her son called mid-call...... so she spoke to him & then called back.
More crying from the both of us.
Then lots more laughing.
Quite a lot of 'what ya gonna do?'
Talking about our spouses.
Talking about coping.
Talking about support systems.
Why on earth we're such friends.
I read some of your posts...... she then was tiring, due to meds.
I again told her that 'we' love her -- all of us love her.
She again asked for prayers of acceptance.
I'm totally at a loss for what I should include & what to edit & what to store in my heart.
Her strength. Her spirit.
Oh God. This is so hard.
Strength and courage.
Strength and courage.
Strength and courage.

Warmest thoughts and soothing hugs to you, Debbie. Yes it is hard. Know that we are here supporting you as well as Pat. Dear Pat, gentle hugs and comforting thoughts to you. I hope that you do find peace and acceptance for what is to come. Whether it is a healing surgery or a new alternative treatment that can rally you back or acceptance of a peaceful end. I sincerely miss your posts and hope to see you posting for a long time in the future. This disease is such a curse to all it touches.
With much love and tenderness
Connie

So much love to both of you.
edited cause I couldn't see the words or spell them right through the tears
