Today is my first day without the decadron or the emend so I don't know how I'll feel tomorrow.  No appetite, all I wanted was a donut and some cottage cheese.  I really would like to go, though.  My mind is playing tricks on me now, and I feel up to some Chinese right now!!  If I remember right, Yenchim used to have a branch in the Clairemont area.  We went there regularly for years until they moved to Mira Mesa or Penasquitos.  It might be the same place.  What is the address, just in case I'm up for it?

SoCal - I'll be ready, scooter by my side, at 11:30. I think Esperanza will be here and she is masterful when it comes to my scooter and backseats.

I didn't get my sutures and staples out - ready-made Halloween costume, huh? Long incision in my brain and all that shiny metal to show! 50yr old Goth! Tongue out Nah, should get them out on the 28th, that will be three weeks.

Looking forward to seeing you all!

LOL, Lisa, I'll recognize you when I see you again! Smile Plus can't wait to see you're rockin' new ride.

I'm afraid my weekends are jam packed. Kids' sports stuff on Saturdays, kids' Religious Ed on Sundays from 11-12pm,  just got a new dog from the shelter who needs a lot of attention, have  family coming over at 2pm today etc, etc, the list goes on and on. But I think of you guys often,  and I hope you all have a great time at lunch today!

It really was a lot of fun today. We did a lot of laughing and that is great medicine. Thank you all for being there. I hope Brenda S. and LisaSDCA feel better a.s.a.p..

Is Nov. 22 to close to Thanksgiving for our next lunch? I can do it or the 15th. The 8th is my wedding anniversary so I think I will hang with the family that day.

It was a lot of fun.  Can you believe it's been 7 months since I found you all.  It's so good to have you all as friends to have fun and to kvetch and to discuss our surgeries, chemo, side effects, etc. Most of all to have fun and laugh!

Thank you all for being here for me.

The 22nd is okay for me.  We're going to LJ Playhouse on the 15th.

Brenda S. - yes, it's the same restaurant as was in Clairemont.

Hi---ahh YES the FREE shoes....y'all may remember when I said my daughter was going to the Ellen DeGeneres Show? Well- all of the audience members got coupons for a PINK ORECK vacuum and small canister and NEW BALANCE running shoes---so my daughter and her husband went and my son-in-law said he would not wear PINK shoes and gave me the coupon and all you had to do was go to their websire and order them and they have "SURVIVOR SYLVIA" on them!!! Gretchen got a pair also but she says she is NOT going to wear them---there is the differnce between her and I---I want to WEAR them out!!! They retail for $149 and are just the most beautiful and comfortable things and do cause a fair amount of conversation!!

Had a great lunch today---old frineds and was hoping to meet some new---lets make Nov the biggest lunch ever or maybe early Dec if the two holidays will be a prob---we also could do our gift exchange too!

Thanks for posting the pic - you all look great!

Sylvia - love the pink shoes.  I'd wear them in a heartbeat.

Football has taken over our lives - Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri and Sat.  So my only free weekend day is Sunday right now.  My closet was falling down, so that was our project.  Not to mention laundry, house cleaning, and grocery shopping.  But the football season will be ending soon, so I will get my life back and will meet up with all of you - hopefully in November.  It's been too long!!

    Hugs all around,

    Lisa

Hi gals, I am in the "football dead zone, too", my family (3 sons) are all football nuts and we usually meet at my house.  So I will do my best to be with you this fall season.  I miss you everyone and now that I got the news I have "calcifications" at the old site, I am scared again.  Shoot, I thought that part was over!  No rest from this beast.

Hope to see you all soon, and thanks Lisa, for the pix, it is good to just look at the precious faces of my sisters.

    Gentle hugs, Shirlann

LisaSDCA is finally feeling not-so-crappy, thank you. I had my onc appt yesterday and he told me my tumor markers were down another couple of points, following the trend we began in Aug. when I started the Tykerb, Xeloda, and Aredia (poor woman's Zometa). As if that were not enough to put a smile on my face, today I got my stitches and staples all out! YAY!

I was very impressed with your shoes, Sylvia. Lookin' very fast. Cool What size does your daughter wear, if she doesn't intend to do so? I'd be interested in buying them from her for a reasonable sum. Heck, she's so small all over that she's likely a size 51/2. Uhm, I am not.

Hey - and the 22nd is good for me, too! I am determined not to be hospitalized for any part of Nov/Dec. Nope, not I. Get someone else.

Hey all---sorry I wasn't clear on that Lisa--Gretchen and Tommy (husband) both got a coupon for shoes---she ordered hers online with the coupon # number and Tommy gave me his--- so I ordered online for me-----I actually went to the store in Solana Beach/Cardiff and got fitted and they were wonderul to me---of course I bought some stuff too---Kiss---but they fitted me to the shoe so I could go online and order exactly---and they printed "SURVIVOR SYLVIA" on the tongue---they are beautiful---nothing I could ever afford---retail $149.00.

So---are we on--for Nov?  --oh Lisa---you did not hear---I'm going for recon in Dec-----nothing BAD---just going to make the girls LOOK the same and so happy my MRI says all is OK--so they fix the bad one and raise up the good one and i'm done---GOD WILLING........xo,S

Shirl, I get an itch on my arm where I'm numb.  Does that happen to you & if so what do you do to get rid of it.  I try to scratch the itch but obviously it doesn't help much.

Congrats on your recon plans, Sylvia. And whooo-hoo for the green light with the clear MRI! Cool

Brahna - I'm obviously not Shirl, but I get the itchies something fierce. It seems primarily on the scar lines but I can get them on the back of my upper arm - reaching the sucker is a challenge! I find warm, moist compresses (microwave) or alternatively, COLD compresses sometimes tricks the itch into another sensory response.

I will tell you I don't get them 1/2 as much, or as persistently, as I did the first year - my  surgery was 9/07.

I cannot make it on the 22nd.  That is the last day of the 3 day Breast Cancer walk in San Diego.  I'm walking... for all of us!!!  We are strong women!

Hope to make it next month.

Sorry I won't get to meet you again Lily.

How about we go to that place Sylvia took us to in Carlsbad or Cardiff. It was right on the beach and they gave us free dessert.

    Hi San Diego ladies

I am new to the site - dx on 10.15 with ILC- having a bi-lateral mx at Kaiser with Dr Ressa on 11.20 - so I won't make your meeting on the 22nd (HA!) - but I will read along and get to know you a bit and hopefully join you one day at your get togethers.  I don't know staging or nodes yet because I am pre-surgery.  I am ER+ and PR+ don't know HER2 yet.

Any of you through Kaiser?  I am 52, married with a 12 year old son (started late!) and live in Escondido.  Thanks for letting me visit!

    Cammy -

Dr Ressa ROCKS! I can't say enough great things about him.

He did my lumpectomy and put my port in before chemo. I chose to have DIEP/SIEA skin- and muscle-sparing surgery with a microsurgeon in LA, Dr.Lee, after chemo. I can't wait to see Dr. Ressa again, for a probable second port. Can't stand this PICC line that I have had for several months. But if my scans from today and yesterday are clear (or stable) I'll have this thing taken out and no surgery.

    Lisa

p.s. Never say never - Starfish/Lisa came to our gathering only two days after her bilateral mx!

    Hey Cammie,

Welcome to the Lunch Bunch. Starfish still had a drain in when she came that day. I came 2 days after my ooph but that was really not a good idea. I made it through though. You should stay home and rest and hopefully we will meet in Dec or Jan.
