Hey neat news KAK and Faith.
I might as feel confess right off the bat. I have to do some housework today.
It's a rainy day and we took advantage of the lovely day yesterday to get stuff done outside. The inside stuff I saved for a rainy day.
Hugs Dust Bunnies.

Oh KAK, CONGRATS!! We love that slice of NPR. I usually end up crying. I remember one woman's from Indonesia about education, another from the midwest about voting..... what a brilliant idea. Can't wait to hear it. They archive forever, right? We'll all have access thru the web.
Hoping for a mundane rainy day today.
It would be a challenge to 'make this up'..... I swear there have been times in my life when I've felt like the heroine in a comic book: good vs. evil -- who will win the day?
And my DH & I seriously shine on the ballroom dance floor. We took lessons over a 5 year period and have forgotten the vast majority of what we ever learned, but we smile a lot & laugh at each other & he pretends to be swauve and we generally have a BALL. People seem to forgive that we don't absolutely know what we're doing, and we make up for that in enjoying the doing.
He knew that I just needed to be with our tribe last night & get genuine hugs from our peeps.
He is a good man. We actually met at a singles dance. Ahhhhhh, that's a story for another day.

Oh, Faith, that's awesome about you & DH! Have you done tango lessons? Really romantic and passionate. Salsa? Totally fun, like swing to a Latin beat. I'm sorry to say I sort of got chased away from my tango lessons because of (a) a shortage of guys with a clue in the class and (b) an amazingly rude guy who was way shorter than me, had a Napolean complex, and kept asking me to partner, and then was really unpleasant! Salsa was great though. We had this young guy in the class who was from Dublin and looked like a soccer player, but it turned out he had taken salsa lessons for 2 years in Dublin before moving to Providence for his job, so he was amazing!!! LOL. The teacher let him spend two salsa classes back to back teaching us this nifty double twirl move. That was after an hour of tango already! So, by the end of 3 hours of twirling, my inner ears finally gave out and I had to sit down until the room stopped spinning and I stopped feeling like I was going to hurl!! LOL
Hugs, bunnies! Yes, Jayne, Faith is right. The broadcast will be archived with all the other This I Believe essays and I'll also be able to post a copy of the audio file, I think.
-
I'm here! I'm trying to find the bloody big pink dog y'all are talking about!
And shit! Dried apricots are a hell of a lot better than prunes!
-
((((Bunnies))))
Hope you all are having a fantastic Friday!
Faithie--hope things are moving right along for WB today
Jayne--how is treatment going for you? Are you feeling ok? Sending you hugs and prayers.
Shinygirl---I walked around Walmart for you today:) I REALLY DID!! Thought about you alot while I was in there. Just walking, browsing, looking.....really was waiting for the rain to let up so I could get to the car without getting drenched. Hugs to you and the kiddos!!
Hugs to ya all. Have a great weekend!!!

Hi Ladies,
I haven't been on here in a while. I started a thread the other day to see what kind of input I could get but so far I haven't heard from someone else that it's happened to.
On Wednesday I had some complications with my tissue expander on the left side. It shifted inside my chest & caused the tissue inside to tear. I was in the ER on Wednesday and had to go see a surgeon yesterday. My regular surgeon is on vacation until next week. I had to go see the other surgeon to make sure that it wasn't something he needed to operate on right away. He said that I can wait to see her next week. He gave me some pain meds to keep me comfortable until then. So it looks like I may be having another surgery here real soon ~ sooner that I had anticipated!
My exchange surgery is scheduled for 11/16. We'll see what my PS says next week when I go see her on Tuesday! I swear if it's not one thing it's the other with me!
When I started reading through some of the posts I realized how much all of my BC ladies!
Bt the way...no housework for my since Wednesday morning!
-
((((2new1s)))) it's soooo good to see you! We've missed you here! Sorry for what you're going through. I can't offer any advice, as I don't have boops
Maybe you can bump your other thread up and someone will see it. Sending you gentle hugs and prayers though!!
-

Arnie, so glad you are now deported!....
To all my Canadian friends, Happy Thankgsgiving a day late!......
I have been so busy (not doing housework) but with errands and school crap and my job I have not had 2 seconds to myself!........I swear, I miss 2 or 3 days and I am lost!....
Please pray for my friend April...She is stage 4 and only has about a month left.....She is in hospice and has 2 small children...She is 37........i had not seen her in a couple of months but thought she was out of town......Her grandfather came by the store today and told me.....Needless to say i turned into a puddle righ there at the register........I am still so sad at the news even though I know she has tried everything she can........i am going to miss her so much....... -

Okay, ladies. Here's the pink dog again -- I grabbed it from 2 pages ago. I wish I had this kind of energy...
-
Lucy ... so sorry to hear about your friend, April. Prayers for her and her family.
Shiny ... our Walmart is undergoing expansion and you can't find anything - thank goodness they have the motorized shopping carts!
2new1s ... I am afraid I had much of the same problems - add diabetic to the mix you have a diaster in the making. Hang in there.
Faith ... how is WB?
-
Pink dog that Arnie posted.
-
2new1s, I'm sorry to hear about your problem. I bumped up your thread for you. That's about all I can do except offer gentle hugs and hope you get it sorted soon.
I forgot to tell ya'all I went to Wallymart the other day. It felt kind of like a chore so I assume it means it's housework................and exercise all rolled into one.
Happy day all.
-
Okay, so NEITHER dog is pink, but the second one surely deserves the prize! Yikes!
On Thursday at work, I went to a coworkers desk and honest to pete, I acutally asked him if his calculator looked pink! He looked up at me and asked if I was okay. I said just tell me if it looks pink to you! sigh.....
2new1s, you are fated to have the most spectacular boobs cause you have fought so hard for them!
-
2News...... hang in there..... hoping your own surgeon will have all the easy answers.
Lucy....... so sorry to hear of your dear, young friend being in hospice. Soooo sad. Prayers for the families strength in the face of this unthinkable loss.
I spent the day w/WB & the twinsies yesterday. To compound the "compounded" issue, all three of them are running fevers and have drippy noses. As long as they are on their tylenol the fever subsides but at exactly four hour mark, they are burning up.
Not exactly a fun day. 3 dishrags would have been as much fun -- but at least I could be there & contribute to holding & rocking.
WB is still awaiting the BIG relief. He's had some teeny-tiny progress, so apparently the meds are working, said to be very gentle. Oh, for Pete's sake.
He's such a picky, picky eater, (just like his mom was) and I'm sure that contributes to the whole scenerio. He had oatmeal for dinner & hopefully that will provide some encouragement.
(Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd be reporting on my grandson's b.m.'s to a group of women I've never met. LOLOL)
xx00xx00xx00xx
I slept for 8 hours continuously last night!!! Thank you pharacalogical industry. We'll see if I can make some tangible progress around here.
-
Lucy, sorry, I did mean to mention that your friend is in my prayers....so sad.
-
Faith -- the poor little tykes! Its hard to see them sick because they get so sick and they don't know what's going on and the next minute they bounce right back. Over forty, bouncing becomes less of an issue. A friend's son had the same problem only he was 8. Thereafter, everytime he came out of the bathroom following a bm - he would look at her, wink and give a thumb's up. Anyway - prayers they all get better soon.
-
Hey!!!!!!!! We're poised on page 299.
It's gonna be a page #300 party this weekend.
We must get everyone to attend.
Party.
-
Party.
Barbe. It's good to see you!!! You were on the top of the new page..... and I didn't even see ya at first. I'm so tickled to see a post from you I'm not even going to clear my throat about starting a new page -- all naked like.
giggle, giggle.
PARTY!!
-
Party time! Which one will it be ladies?
-
(((((((( Lucy )))))))))
Well, I just took a Provigil, so maybe I'll have a decent day today.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend, Canadians!
-
(((((((((Lucy))))))))
Faiths' wb (((((((((hugs))))))))))
Faith and KAK...don't know where I read it but congrats to both of you on your newest ventures!!!
Barbe...pink calculator.....lol (((((((((hugs)))))))))))
Hope all you beautiful, courageous dustbunnies have a fabulous weekend!!! I'm doing a bit of housework but being awfully protective of my surgery sight. Just dusting and using the broom...
-
Ladies ~ thank you all for the encouragement! I need every word of it so I don't scream & cry like a baby!
No housework for me again today! I will not be doing anything until I see my PS on Tuesday. Tomorrow is my son's 17th birthday. If any of you remember, he is the child that is really giving me a rough time with the teenage years! I know he will grow up one day - I just want it to be sooner! He gets mad at me because I ground him & take his cell phone & ipod! He said that it's a kids right to have a cell phone & ipod! I just shake my head!
-
Hi, hugs, Hello, Happy weekend for all. Trying to get us to page # 300. LOVE, Nancy
-
I didn't even link the PINK I saw to Pinktober. REALLY! I just realized it now with your comments. It's just that it is usually beige and on Thursday it was pink. Honest!
Cell phone and iPod are a kids' rights........?
Nope. Just like respect, yah gotta earn it!
-
Oh Barbe.. So vglad you cleared up your calculator story! I was feeling rather dense for not getting it! makes sense now. You are sounding pretty good, glad to see. Hope you are having a good weekend.
Am going to out outdoor "medieval Feast and fair" in honour of the 40th birthday of one of the mum's at school. The kids, DH and I will all be in fancy dress costume, and the weather man promisses no rain so should be fun. Feeling rather too exausted to do it really but you just have to do these things when they come up.
Hollyann, so sorry about your dear friend, prayer going out to her, hers and you. hug.
I forget who said it but, NO, we do NOT have Walmart here in the U.K, sniff sniff, that is why dear Coonie goes and things of me when she does, cause I would gladly do every row of that store, weekly if I could (and that is a conservative guess). Things are so dear to buy here.
Faith... if things don't clear up son, one of the easiest, non medicated ways to ease a child's well, "no poo prob" is to use a small glycerin supository or 2. It is a purely gentle mechanical way of sorting it out without using meds. Well, as you said, not something you would think to talk about here, but... we are all friends after all, and mostly all mums also, so there you go, for what it is worth).
Bless you, take care all. Thinking of you. Got to go!
Shiny
-
Shiny so sorry you don't have Walmart!.....You can come to my house and we'll both go!......You can take all day if you want cause they have a few restaurants within walking distance of mine.......
2new1's, I have an 18 yr old daughter...She did the same thing to me......I think it really is just an age thing....Also he could be acting out right now because he's scared for you and himself....After all his mommy has breast cancer!.....And his mommy is sick and he can't do a thing about it!......If you would like to talk please PM me you numbr and I will call.......My DD finally right before she hit 18 started acting right and taking responsibility for her actions.......She still digresses from time to time but she ALWAYS apologizes and tries to make it right........
Can't believe we haven't made it to page 300 yet!......PARTY ON DOWN WHEN WE DO!......
Thank you all for the hugs for me and my friend April....I am so going to miss her.....But I know she will be in a so much better place....... -
Not at 300 yet? Sheesh, perhaps if we actually did housework we'd have made it to the big 300 by now.
