Went to my pre op for my hyster/ooph...man I can hardly wait!!! 2 more weeks!!!! She told me to stop taking the tamoxifen because a risk of blood clots. My onc says to keep taking it...oh whatever. I'm gonna go on arimedex after my surgery so ...really, will I get bc in the 2 weeks of not taking the tamox?? I highly doubt it. :-)
Anyway......counting the days!! I just need to figure out how to manage my comp after my surgery... anybody out there who has had hyster/ooph/tummy tuck know if I will be able to put my comp on my lap??? I'm not worried about anything else...lol OK I'm crackin myself up...which I do on a regular basis...hahahahaha

Hey girls what if we check and see if we can get good room rates for New York New York, if we book it for next yr. Maybe they would give us a good deal for the piano bar!!!
Do we know when the paint the square is for 2010??
-
Hey Tracey...Miss you too...Hope flying is good.
Jazzy you crack me up.....You are going to do great during and after surgery. Next Year, yes we can try but I do not think we can even start talking to them until we have somewhat of an idea of how many rooms we are going to need. We need more than 10 for sure. If we can get somewhat of a count and somewhat of a date we can start exploring. We may be able to lock some 2009 rates who knows.
I cannot believe I am already talking about 2010, what is wrong with me......Jazzy I can blame you for this one LOL...... You bring out the best of me.....
Hugs
Gisella
-
I'm so happy to hear you gals talking about 2010...what an inspiration to hear. Remember the early days in diagnosis when we thought we wouldn't be here long..............what a difference getting informed and having friends we can talk to who understand can make.
You should be proud of what you've accomplished ladies!

Hi Everyone ~
Just got back from flying to PA from CA just for the weekend... right on the heels of Vegas - talk about tired!!!
I loved coming back on this thread and "listening" to all that was going on as I didn't have a computer while I was gone.
I was on the plane (Delta) and since it is October they have a total Breast Cancer awareness month going on. The flight attendants were dressed in pink uniforms and pink tops and they sold pink lemonade and donated 100% of the proceeds to Breast cancer research. The magazine from the plane had Melissa Ethridge on the cover and she did a concert on their plane that is totally painted pink for breast cancer!!!!! I thought "Boy that plane would rock if the Ta Ta's were on it. Then as I was reading in the magazine-there was a letter from the Ceo who talked about his mom who died from breast cancer at a young age and that it was preventable. He feels dedicated to finding the cure "one flight and one pink lemonade at a time"!!! Tears were streaming down my face - it was so touching.
Then I come home to watch Steeler football and the NFL went pink!! I love it! I'm rooting for the Packers tonight !
Miss you all.
Love ~ Peg

PACKERS !!! GOOOOOOOOOOOO !
I just wanbt to know.. why... I look so DRUNK in all the pictures..,LOL... and I was NOT...,hehe... I did enjoy a few good bahama mama's the last night... but I look normal on those nights...hehehehehehehehehe
-
I'll have to find out when they plan to have the Paint the Square Pink event next year. I just got a newsletter from Susan G Komen of Southern Nevada and the Race for the Cure is May 1st. Hopefully, they are setting dates already for next year's other events!
Hopefully, I can spend more time with the Ta Ta girls next year. I hope you gals come to Vegas. It was nice to meet some of you at the Paint the Square event!
I love that the NFL is wearing pink stuff for BC. I got a pink Dallas Cowboys t-shirt for my 40th birthday this past weekend. It has the pink ribbon on it - I love it!!!
I'm on Facebook, too. The only friend I have from this site is Jazzy. -
Peggio and all -- I am busy after the Vegas trip as well. Flew yesterday from Phoenix to Connecticut on business. I'll be here all week, then back to Phoenix Friday. One day free on Saturday to go relax and then Sun (Oct 11th) is the Walk for the Cure in Phoenix. My two girls, two grandkids and I are all walking together in memory of my mom. The grandkids did not walk last year, but I think they will enjoy the event this year. They are 6 and 10 yrs old. There were babies in strollers there last year.

Wonderful Robin!
-
Hi everyone,
Well I saw my PS yesterday. I told him my concerns, well I tried, he pretty much shut me down....nicely if you can believe that. I couldn't believe it, he only wanted to talk about nipples. I cried before I even got out of the office. I just can not believe that this man...who I felt so good about turned out to not even care. He told me that I would not be able to get better projection and the pocket was fine.
I am going to have to go to someone else, have another surgery and have to find a way to trust another doctor. I am just sick about this.
Teresa
-
I am so so sorry Teresa! I hope Dr. Rast can help you. Please tell him how sad you are about all this. I hope you can trust again....
-
Thanks Laura, I have an appt on the 23rd. Its a friday. Hey if your not too busy that day maybe we can meet for lunch or something
Teresa
-
Hello my TA TA SISTA'S!!! So much so say, so here goes Teresa-Sorry to hear that-I pray the right Dr. will be there that you can trust-very important with all that you've been thru!!
I'm on Facebook too KittyCat, & to anyone else who wants me as a "FREIND" there-I'm under Susie Mears
How come I can't find your photos gbusse-Gisella??? They don't appear on the shutterfly, so is TA TA pic forum something different that I don't know about?? As of right now, Packergirl/Jazzy & Quinn's photo's are the only 3 there. I have to learn/figure out how to download mine-new grounds for me. Looks like we can order photo's from this site, I got 2 different offer's....25 free prints for joining, then another one appeared a couple of days later for 50 free print's- hope I can find those again-I'm the kind of person who will order pretty much everything picture wise!!!
Jazzy-my surgery is next week & guess what? I've got walking pneumonia with a splash of bronchitis-doesn't get any better than this huh??!! You had this right before our trip correct? Doc put me on antibiotic's-We are the 2 peas in a pod fer sure!!!! YEP YEP
My CD is getting worn out already, Daughter loves it just as much as I do

Hugs & Loves & prayers MISS YOU ALL TONS!!!!!!!!!
Take care Chow XOXO Susie

Another thought for next year is renting out a bank of owner suites at the MGM Grand - the penthouse suites. Two bedroom suites - sleeping up to 8 [if you use sofa beds] around $185.00 per night [divided by however many in suite] and with a full kitchenette - 2 bathrooms. But the bonus is, there is a bar/lounge area - a large room where everyone could meet - open only to penthouse guests. Here is a link with some photos to scroll through. Fromm what I have read, these owners are desparate to rent out their suites - with the economy as it is....so prices are really low...
Just a thought....it would be more intimate a setting for all of us...
-
Deborah
That sounds great....and with a full kitchenette I would think there would be a coffee pot!! now that is a big plus....LOL The downside would be 8 women with only 2 bathrooms...but for the cost I think we could make do....
-
Teresa: Don't be defeated by this. Your PS does not know what to do and I would not rely on him to KNOW what to do. Keep your chin up about this and see Laura's PS and let's see what he has to say.
-
Linda - Well - I frankly think that we could just go with 4 or 6 to a room at that price. [This particular owner has three such suites and for a large group - he lowers the price to $175.00 a night and I would wager we could get it even lower.] There are also 1 bedroom suites and singles - so that if someone wanted to room alone or with just two to a room - that would be an option. And four per bathroom - well - we did it this year at the Mirage!
-
I LOVE the owner suites idea! It is always fun when you have a common area where people can get together, also if there is a kitchen, we can eat breakfast in or maybe do happy hour! Love it. I have been asked to speak today at a seminar talking about insurance/disability etc regarding my cancer experience. For 5 minutes of my time they are donating 1000.00 towards breast cancer!! I am doing a total of 6 of them so 6000.00!! I love that. Now let's see if I can speak to strangers without crying through it.
Its so much easier to talk to other survivors without getting overly emotional. Wish me luck! -
GOOD LUCK TRACY!! You have all of your TaTa Sisters behind you girl!!!
{{{{Teresa}}}} Keep us updated...I pray Laura's Dr. will treat you right!
I LOVE the PENTHOUSE idea!! WOO HOO!!! My hubby told me that a friend of his said we should have gotten our rooms comped. We just need to tell them we are a large group and plan on spending money at their hotel. He said they usually even give money to gamble with! We need to look into these kinds of things too...use our cancer card!!
{{{{{SUSIE}}}}!!!! DANG IT GIRLFRIEND!!! You definitely need to catch some breaks! I will be here praying for you!! I've done both of my pre ops...now tommorrow is my pre assessment at the hospital...I've never had to do this before and I have had 3 surgeries within the last year. Hmmm
Anyway...had to go to a funeral yesterday...hubby and I have just about had it with funerals! It was our 4th funeral this year! I sure hope it will be the last one this yr!
I had my last physical therapy today...wah I am so sad. I will miss my physical therapist! She is so much like me it's SCARY!!! We even share the same birthday!! I'm hoping after my next surgery I will get to go back. :-) It sure loosened up my skin around my incisions and the scar tissue. She also was able to stretch out the lats that have still been real tight. She is a lymphodema physical therapist.
My girlfriend is hosting a jewelry party for me today and a celebration party for me as well!! Celebrating 1 year cancer free with lemon drops!!! WOO HOO!!!!
HUGS!!

P.S. Susie, Gisella's picture album is labeled "TaTa's Trip"

I go to see a PT on Tuesday and I hope I am as happy as you are with mine. Does the PT ask you to take your bra off in order to do any massaging on the breast? I specifically asked for a female thinking that this might happen...
