1st Ta Ta Sisterhood Reunion in Vegas

I'm going to volunteer for the Susan G Komen Southern Nevada chapter. I'll find out what they have planned for next year. Someone told me they have a bunch of breast cancer events going on at Town Square (where they had Paint the Square Pink) in October. It would be fun to participate in the fashion show next year. I almost had my hubby convinced that we could do the fashion show together.
. He is a double cosurvivor, since his dad and I both had BC.
It was nice to meet several of you that night. I immediately recognized Jazzy and Estepp. Next year I'll have to do more with y'all. I had some friends come to Paint the Square in support, so my time was split. It was kind of cool that my hubby got to meet some of you! He's so cute. He wanted to wear a pink golf shirt, but the only one we found was $65! Yikes!
I was a little under the weather on Sunday - LOL! Too much free flowing wine!
I hope everyone made it home safe!
Sounds like you had an awesome time! -
Checking in ladies... As life resumes I find myself missing everyone of you your kindness and words of support are immeasurable. Most of all your friendship and good times have made this a lifelong memorable event. I was thinking about how many other vacations that I can say that about and sincerely none come to mind (although I am not well traveled). The day before I was scheduled to go my cancer support buddy went into the hospital, I was audited for financial aid which left me 30bucks and hotel money, and I was very close to dropping my classes because it seemed so impossible to wait around for things to clear at school. However something and someone said "just go, you need this" and I did, It was probably the best choice I have made this year. I found friendship, support, wild drunken fun and future mentors.
The ladies here (including those absent) are all generous, amazing, strong and beautiful. I cannot believe how everyone of you manage to have such full lives with careers, husbands, children all while facing a cancer battle. As some of you know I dont have any of these (except the medical issues!) and it makes me thankful to have such a simple life, but as Suzie said we all have challenges of varying degrees that make us unique but never less strong (hope that came out right). I truly do look up to you ladies and I just wanted to let you know, because sometimes its hard to get those things out without babbling through tears! I love you all and cant wait to see you again.
What is a sign of a good trip? It starts with a wave and ends with a hug. -Q

DV8Q, I am so glad you were able to come and of course bring the "real camera" with you (Tracey this one is for you, LOL). It was wonderful to meet you. You are such a special person and I know you will do great and come through shinning through all these trials.
Kristina I am so glad you were able to join our party drunken group. I look forward to seeing you again in the near future. I am telling you I am coming to visit you all hopefully before too long.
Hugs

Kristina... Wonderful to see you here ! It was a pleasure to meet you!
DV8Q... ((((Hug))))...~wink~.... you make me cry this morning... THANKS A LOT... LOL... You will be AOK because it is your time... it is just YOUR TIME sister.. go GET IT! (((((((hugs)))))))
Grands today... wahooooooooooooooo
Hi Heather!!
-
OK. Just let me know when so I can get the other stuff out of the way!!!
So far I have the last week or so in Sept and the first weeks in Oct...pretty soon..I'll have reserved the whole year!!! It doesn't matter, as long as I go!! JUDY
-
Kristina-If there was only one great thing that could have happened from this trip it would be getting you on these boards so that you get the pleasure of all of these amazing, strong, funny, knowledgable women. I'm so glad you took the leap. Fortunately for us, that wasn't the only great thing about the trip....the whole trip was great!
Peg and Deborah-I'm so sorry I didn't get to say goodbye before you left. You were both so wonderful and I'm glad to have had the chance to meet you both. Hope your drive back was just as fun as the weekend.
Quinn-YOU, my girl, are my new hero. When I was diagnosed, I was the youngest person I knew to go through this at 43. I cannot believe what you have been through at only 31. You are amazing and strong and beautiful and I am SOOO glad that you decided to come, despite everything else that was going on in your life. We needed you just as much as you needed us.
I hope everyone has a great week as we settle back into our regular lives where no one is cheering as we walk by, no one wants to take pictures with us and people aren't high fiving us in public places.

-
Okay......lurking here and a bit jealous that you all got to meet and had such a fab time! Love the article, Jazzy! I'm definitely not missing this next year! btw.....I've never met a beach I didn't love............and oct along the gulf coast is beautiful.....except maybe for the hurricanes.........
-
Quinn - What do you mean that you don't have any of these things?? Now you do!!! We 'adopted' you. You are now a member of this grand family.
Friends Forever!
-
-
FirstMate - don't forget to send me a PM so I can mail a check to you!
Laura - Glad to see you back on the boards!
I didn't get a darn thing done yesterday. I was exhausted. I still need to unpack my suitcase.
It is snowing in the mountains now - 26 degrees up where my horse is so I have to get there this afternoon and throw a blanket on her. Poor thing - she is probably freezing right now.
I still feel trashed from this weekend. Don't know if it is because we didn't get much sleep or just being done with rads but hopefully my energy will pick back up by the end of the week. I don't know how ya'll managed to go back to work on Tuesday!
I hope by next year I will have lost 20 lbs and have lots of hair to the point ya'll don't recognize me!
-
Oh Jancie, we will ALL recognize you.

Kristina: Hooray....you are here! It was so nice meeting you and your shoes this weekend....

Quinn: Oh my.....what you wrote....brought tears to my eyes...
-

-
Laura...every link worked for me....so I don't know why others are having problems.
-
DV8Q ~ I'm so glad you came! YOU are an inspiration. I put myself through school and that was challenging enough without BC on top of it - so give yourself credit for being the strong woman that you are - YOU ROCK!

My Sista's,
Since I have last posted, so much has been said about our Las Vegas TA TA Sisterhood weekend. It was so amazing meeting everyone and enjoying each others company. So many of you sista'shave expressed what I felt and still feel about the weekend. I am still exhausted and I have not touched laundry yet, as a matter of fact, I just emptied my suit case this evening.
I want to Thank all of you SISTA's for welcoming my mom. She called this evening and said she was going through Cheryl withdrawl. That was so sweet of her to say. (I miss her too). Gisselle, to bad she did not pole dance at Jet. (HA HA).
Well have to go to bed, still trying to catch up on sleep. Miss you all and have a restful nights sleep.
(((((HUGS))))))

I know, I am lazy. I just got around to unpacking my suitcase and what did I find?????
The sign that Laura made for us for the starbucks at the airport. I am really bad about mailing anything so I guess that means.......
I have to show up next year!!! I have no choice......I have the SIGN!

-
Since Traceyz and Firstmate didn't come forth with the truth......
I changed my avatar to a Greyhound Bus because Ms. Tracey decided that I snored - not like a freight train but more like a Greyhound Bus. Yep, those were her exact words!
I tried to give them both an ambien or valium but they both declined. So....I took an ambien because I kept waking myself up snoring Sunday night.
-
Jancie YOU CRACK ME UP GIRL!!!!
Dang wish I would have gotten home with that sign! Well I'll be there no matter what!!!
-
OK I really need to get a life....lol I can't pull myself away from my computer. I keep looking at the pictures Packergirl posted on the shutterfly site...listening to the cd she made us...over and over...and smiling ear to ear.....with tears streaming.....man I can't believe it's been a WHOLE week since we met in the Vegas airport! WOWIE! I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL NEXT YR!!!!

ATTENTION SNORING SISTAS
Next year, an anti-snore mouthpiece will be a required accessory prior to registration.
If you are not able to secure this device, the following item will be provided to your roommates for use as needed for quality sleep.

OKAY, OKAY, I'M JUST KIDDING....I just happened to buy one of these [not from this company] for my DH and it really does work....after 17 years of sleep-deprived marriage....
-
Oh my gosh - I just saw packergirls's TATA reunion website and looked at the pictures. I saw Tracey in her bathing suit and now I am sure my implants are not big enough....
-
Deborah--was I the only one who snored? sniff....
