Hi Guys,
I am back from vaca and was checking in on Checkum too! Checkum, where are you? I wanted to get in touch with you but there is no cell service!!!! It's nice that I didn't have to listen to my sons cell phones for a week, but I missed Checkum. I hope she is feeling better.
Missed all my friends here too!! I will do some reading and catch up!
Hugs to all.

Hello girls (and welcome new friends to Escape land)
I went back to work this past week which really drained any energy that I had right out of me. I am feeling better, but still really tired. Lovin the toilet weddings - or potty weddings LOL -- there has been sum fin escapin goin on here
I moved DD back to college - I am kinda in a funk missing her too (I think). I can't put my finger on it, but I just am feeling like I have the blahhhhhhs.... Everything is healing pretty good and the LE has calmed down.
I have been on the Cog - took the cog to the fog -- it was pretty boring LOL
-
Hey Checkum. Glad to see you've found your way back. Sorry to hear you are suffering from empty nest syndrome. Hey Sistah........you'll 'hit your stride' one of these days. We all have our moments. Hugs galore.
-
Feeling a lot like fall the past couple of days here in NH --- brrrrrrrrrrrr. I am bummed because we lost most of our tomatoes to the blight... not much tomatoe sauce to can this year
BUT!!! Apple picking is right around the corner ... mmm apple pie, apple crisp.. apple butter... apple everything LOL
-
-
Checkum: so glad to hear your report. Grateful to hear that your healing continues & that your LE is under control. DD to college...... ah, yes, the empty nest, indeed. It is a serious adjustment.
What a gorgous picture of the leaves to come.
Lisa, next time you go to a castle, I'm climbing in your picnic basket!!
Sharon, your pig collection was very sweet indeed.
Happy escaping.
DH is off on an all-day golf outting, so I intend to go for a MAJOR bike ride & explore.
much love, all,
xx00xx00xx

You know I was just reading about Tamoxifen and depression.... I cannot put my finger on it - whether it is a combo of stuff or what, but I just feel down.. (it definitely is not me).... I think I need to talk to the onc about it. I know I am sad that DD is gone, but I think it is more than that - I just have no desire for the things I enjoy sitting on the couch would be a perfect day
I know that for the past week I have wanted to do things - but, then when it came to finding the ambition to do them it isn't there....
-
Checkum,
Glad you are back on, sorry about the "funk" I think the Tamoxifen may be a factor. Although sometimes it is a group of things, you've had alot happen this week. It's also sometimes discouraging for me when I get tired so much quicker than before.
The weather alone can affect me also. We have had less sunshine, cooler temps, and more moisture than normal. Those big beautiful white Hibiscus I have were full of buds yet, and this past week the buds all turned brown it has stopped blomming. Strange weather this summer.
I love the fall colors also but seems we were kinda cheated out of our summer
We are having a family reunion today for my Mother's side. We do this each year on Labor Day. We will be picking up my parents (84 & 87) so my Dad doesn't have to drive the 40 miles.
Blessings all, and have a good escape today !
-
Good to see you checkumm...hope you are up out of that hole soon...
I found this place in Alaska of all places, but it is a perfect spot to sit and escape
-
Chekum, know how you feel, glad my DH is such an encourager to get me going to the woods, garden etc. My nest has been empty for awhile but have been really missing my sons so am headed out west next month to Albuquerque to see my oldest son and my youngest brothers family and then to Vegas to see my youngest wild child! I too have gone back to work part time and it is tiring.
Glad to see you back. The early wild fencerow apples are ready and we had a great apple crisp yesterday, and am going picking in a littel while to get some to make sauce. Our tomatoes look great the only issue is they are still GREEN, guess we will try some green tomato relish this year, but don't know about salsa, stews and juice. Have about 20 qts left form last year but started with 50! Hope al have a great day, better get the clothes on the line so we can go apple and berry picking.
-
Hugs Checkum....so many things changing this time of year... please take care of yourself!!
Lisa- is there any place you have NOT lived or traveled to? Your pictures are stunning...all these pictures make me want to get a decent camera and start snapping away..
-
(((( Checkum )))) It's so good to see you back. Hope you're feeling better soon. I think most of us have emotional issues after breast cancer. I'm sure with medication, hormones (or lack of hormones) has alot to do with our moods. I feel the same way sometimes. Hang in there girlfriend!
(((((( Escapees ))))))
-
EWD.,.I have been very lucky and have been able to see so many places and people
can you believe I have finished up my "bucket list"...guess I start a new one..
Checkum...hugs to you
-
Nice pic Lisa... well I got some stuff done today and tomorrow it is back to work. We lost all of our tomatoes to the blight.. (all that STUPID rain!!!!) .. so I went and bought a bunch and canned 6 quarts and 10 pints of tomatoe sauce with garlic & basil...mmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmm...
I am thinking that I am going to do some canning when the apples come in... I figured I would do the pie filling then whenever I want pie - I can just dump it in
-
Checkum, now you know cuzin Bubba is gonna want some of that thar apple pie when you git it cooked. Matter of fact...... I'm gonna want some of that thar apple pie too! mmmmyummmmm...that sure sounds good with a scoop of vanilla ice cream:)
This is one of my favorite places to escape. I'm sure most of you have seen this on TV, but it's one of the most peaceful places to visit. The grounds are just beautiful!
This is the Crystal Cathedral in California.
