I love seeing pictures of my BC sisters. Thanks for posting. Jane, shingles can be very painful. Both my son and his wife had them on their face, but not near the eye. My son had chicken pox twice - first time was regular but second episode was horrible with them between his toes, in his ears, etc. Then at age 30, he got shingles.
My husband had shingles when Stage 4 lung cancer and on oxygen 24/7. I had to put cream on them every 4 hours (prescription, but don't remember the name), pain pills every 4 hours and some kind of other pill every 6 hours. His was around his waist and up his back. They told him to stay home as they can be contagious, especially for pregnant women. Not that he was in any shape to go much of any place, except Dr. appointments. His best friend died that week and he was not able to go to the funeral.
I am happy to hear some of you are taking a get away/vacation. Enjoy, rest, relax, eat hearty, and have fun. It has cooled off a lot overnight and I put on a sweatshirt to sit on my little patio with coffee earlier. If any English teachers here, please don't grade me on my grammar !!!
Hugs for all, Nancy

Oh Jayne. So sorry about the shingles and especially their location near your eye.
My shingles case was limited to my torso (well half of it) and hidden and so I was the only one aware of the appearance of it.
Seriously gentle hugs as you bravely conquer this latest development. Praying for those meds to be awesome in their task.

LOL Barbe! Kerry was a sweetheart. She's a nurse, and we both discovered we work for visiting nurse agencies, so we could start our own agency together sometime, just for BC sistahs! Jayne, we'd come over & visit you!

KAK!! I'm up to 40 followers on the FB networkedblog widgit. I just need another 5 to break into the top 50!! I offered a prize drawing from all my followers.... will send my autographed book when I creep up to #30 slot. (Currently only 66 followers at that spot.) LOL
You could offer a free t-shirt!! I'm willing to pay for mine.

Jayne Uk, oh dear. Thank goodness you had a bit of a holiday before all this extra stuff. Will be sending the peachiest vibes your way, and as we are both in the Uk, they should darn well reach you! Hope you get off lightly and the meds start to work asap. I suppose you will call hosp tomorrow re wednesday's Tax? They are sure to want to consider what to do. Good luck with it all.

KAK, you guys do look beautiful
Jayne, so sorry you are going through the shingles on top of everything else.
I am going to have to clean house very well around the 10th, any volunteers. Am having company and don't want them to think we love dust bunnies. LOL

Hi faith, barb, and shiny
Wishing you all a good night and happy cleaning (whenever we get around to it)

Happy Early Birthday, ((((((( Cheryl )))))))))). Same day as my son's birthday - 32 years ago I spent Labor Day IN labor......
I have worn myself out with cleaning out the garage and promise I will not do anything remotely connected with cleaning today or tomorrow -- and maybe all week.
Hugs and Blessings, Nancy
-
Hugs, Barbe!......Why is your cookie about to crumble?......
Sorry, dust bunnie buddies, but I have to clean today too.......My house is dirty!.......
Have a great day all!....... -
Hi, bunnies! Oh, lordy, I had the best night's sleep last night. The weather was cool and dry, perfect almost-fall sleeping weather, and because of the Provigil, sleep actually feels good again, like it's doing something again, because I don't wake up feeling like a train wreck.
My house is a train wreck, but I'm not worrying about that today. Today, certain people's tee-shirts are getting sent out!
Mum, LOL on the hair!! Kerry & I are both particularly hairy, I have to admit. I've grown my hair really long twice in the past several years and donated it to Locks of Love and to Beautiful Lengths (which is for women with bc)!! So, when I found out I didn't have to have chemo for my bc, I joked that maybe I'd appeased the chemo gods & gained some good kharma!!
Meanwhile, I'm going to ignore all the dust bunnies on the floor.

Shiny- some companies sell Student versions of their programs...we've gotten some that way, less expensive and not the Total package, which is ok since we didn't need total package. Just had to show that it was for student use @ home.
Jayne- so very sorry to hear about shingles
best wishes that it is mild and resolves quickly
Barbe- whats going on sweetie? Hugs, hugs, hugs
Faith- what is this about following your blog? how do I do that?
Kathi & kes- great photo! what a nice chance to meet the "names"
Lucy- got the letters- thanks- Mom was delighted. Good luck on your first day back- remember to play nice with the other kids and have fun...
Hugs to everyone!!!
-
The cheque (bank draft actually) is in the mail KAK, really it is!!!
-
Elaine. I think I answered your ??blog?? on another thread. LOL. I often read all over the map & then start putting up posts. Think of it like a treasure hunt. I think that I put the answer over on the beach. More LOL.
I relented and vaccummed our little abode. DH had the brilliant idea to have a ceiling fan installed in our bedroom. It's only taken 4 months for the electrician to get here to do it. They had the entire hallway filled with attic insulation, dust and debris -- only to learn that the brand new fan's motor was inoperational. Murphy's law #73.
So the floor is cleaned, but there's no ceiling fan to keep me cool -- and now it's time to turn on the heat. And we need to exchange the fan..... which is in the big city, where we never go.
Planet earth: one adventure follows another!
Thankfully this is just nonsense & nothing other than some frustration.
Hugs to all in need.

Let's ALL crash Cheryl's party!!! Sounds like a blast!
Arnie- good to see you back!
Jayne- sorry about the shingles. My sister had them once also around her eyes. She's a NICU nurse and missed quite a bit of work. They were very painful.
KAK- Did you ever find my post about which shirt I want? I can send it to you again.
I'm home from Taxol #7 of 12. I was supposed to get the trial drug today, but I didn't because my BP was too high again. They had increased my Lisinopril and I developed a terribly annoying cough. So, yesterday we changed BP meds. They didn't want to give me the trial drug with the BP so high and just switching drugs. So we try again next Tuesday. As long as I'm still getting my regular chemo, I'm okay with it. I haven't had my post chemo crash yet, so please excuse the post and run! The couch is calling!!
Oh and hugs for Barbe for whatever is wrong.
Hi and hugs to all the bunnies!! -
Mary, send the post to me again in a PM just in case. I'm still a bit daft from the fatigue (that's my story & I'm sticking to it!).
-
Sooooo glad to hear the Provigil is helping, KAK... I really do think out of all of the drugs I take that it's the one that impacts my quality of life the most.
-
EDIT: Oh, good... I'm limited to 5 posts a day *and* the slowest site on the internet hiccuped and posted it twice. Woo.
-
Well, I didn't do housework, but did (colour-block) paint the wall behind the sofa.
-
Faithandfifty - just imagine what it's like to really have the last name Murphy!
-
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh Jane, I'm sorry.
I will resist attributing all future calamity's to Murphy's laws. I should have been able to add two plus two and been a bit more sensitive: DUH.
Big hugs. I won't even tell you the other tidbits of the day that continued to go awry. LOL
-
I don't mind...you can blame it on Murphy's all you want. My life hasn't been the same since I married one. I don't know how many times I'[ve said I should have kept my maiden name or made him switch!
-
I'm sure glad that you have a sense of humor!!
-
I'm glad, too....I'd never have survived 26 years of marriage and 4 kids any othe way!
