How funny!!! When I saw you with your scarf on, it brought back sooo many emotions. I wanted to say something to you right then and there but didn't want you to think I was some crazy lady, haha. I have JUST started going out without my bball cap so I'm still getting use to the short do, but it's so nice to be at this point right now. I'll definitely give you a call.
-
Angela,
Great to talk to you, thanks so much for calling me! I can't wait to meet. See you soon!

Hi everyone,
I just got back from a long weekend in Michigan last night, then had tx #3 today. Feeling good so far.
Thanks for doing all this organizing, Dawn. Macaroni Grill sounds great to me, too!

Hi Becky,

This is great. I have heard of Macaroni Grill, just give me the address. Date: Aug 16, right? Someone keep bumping so we can get LOTS of gals together. Maybe check on reservations?
I am off to Pinkstock on Friday to meet some other BC gals. Hugs, Nancy
-
Nancy,
I'll keep bumping it and I'll post the address and ph#. I don't think they take reservations, but I'm going to check, I do know they do call ahead seating, so I can always do that. Have a great time at PINKSTOCK! HUGS, Dawn

DIANE - That's great, we'll have a pretty good group going! I'm really excited about it. I talked to Angela the other day, don't know if you have spoken with her - we had the weirdest "almost meeting" at the ps office. I think I read one of your posts on the bisphosphonates thread, I'm supposed to be enrolling in that on Thursday. We'll have to talk and you can clue me in on your experience.

Julie lives in Ffx.

I think we should post the exact date and time and location again..... or each time it gets bumped. There are 5 in my chemo buddy group and I can't remember the details to invite them. We usually get together once a month also in Tysons or Arlington area. But I think all would be happy to drive a little to meet others.

I will bring pictures from Pinkstock. Our Artful bras are posted on the PINKSTOCK 2009 thread, so you can see some of what you missed. The first bra pictured is one I did.

NANCY - I'd love to see those pics.
LADIES - Can we share some photos???? I'd love to see pics of you all with your families, could you all maybe bring some pictures with you to the get together - husbands, kids, grandkids, pets, pre-bc or post-bc, whatever you'd like to share. Thanks, HUGS, Dawn
-
That is a great idea, Dawn. A picture is worth a thousand words, right? and IF you get ambitious, you can put info on a post it and people can lift it up to see the whole photo.
You can see me on the Look Good, Feel Better site. The before and after section, 3rd one down on the left is me. I have had my second hair cut and it is VERY curly. Trim might be a better word, around the ears and back of the neck. Have had short hair for LONG time before.
One of my chemo buddies will be in New Mexico.

NANCY - OMG you look beautiful, I just checked out the LGFB site. Now I know who I'm looking for at Macaroni Grill, can't wait to meet you!!!

Anyone on Facebook? Feel free to PM me...I have loads of pix on FB.
Looking forward to meeting you all...I am easy to spot......I have really, really short hair LOL!

Dawn, the after with the wig is MUCH better looking than my very, very, very curly natural salt and pepper hair. 3 women asked me today where I got my perm... I told them "from God"...
I am 5'9" tall, so you can hardly miss me if I come with Chris, who is 6 feet tall. At Pinkstock we were the 2 giants.
-
DIANE - All my friends keep telling me to get on FB, I'm still dragging my feet. When did you finish chemo, I'm afraid my hair might be shorter. Well, I'm not sure you can call it hair. It's about 1/2" long but CLEAR, I'm hoping to have my hairdresser color it the end of next week. I think people might be able to call me Sargent Dawn if it has some color on it LOL! Can't wait to meet!
NANCY - That's so funny about the perm! I'm just the opposite of GIANT, I'm only 5'0, we should both be easy to spot. I'm just short and bald LOL!!
HUGS, Dawn

yeah, get on FB...it is addicting in the beginning. I love it because my mom and MIL are on it and I post pictures and videos of my 3 kids....ages 4 and under so they LOVE it.
I only lost about 70% of my hair so I only shaved it once. It has been growing ever since.....last treatment of 4 TC's was 5/13/09. Mine is growing in the same but lots of gray that I like to call blonde LOL! My hair is black and about 1/2 inch or so. All my friends and family love the look and tell me I should keep my hair short. I have always worn it shoulder length with no real style. My hair grew so fast I couldn't keep up with a real hair style. Maybe I will keep it short but I do miss brushing it and pulling it back
-
I think worse than the hair was losing the brows and lashes, I hate that. Still waiting for those to come back. I guess the one good thing about losing our hair is some of us can see that we actually look great with really short hair and never would've tried it otherwise.
-
The best part of no hair, mine fell out july 4 weekend last yr, was NO shaving all summer. I still have very little on legs, which is fine w/me.
I hated no eyebrows. Bald and no eyebrows, where was end to putting on foundation? half way back or what? and painting on eyebrows. one higher than other. Lashes didn't bother me as I never wore mascara. Brows grew back like groucho marks, but more normal now.

Hey ladies...I haven't been on here in a long time...but I'm part of Nancy's chemo group. Unless there's a compelling issue that comes up, I plan on coming...it's been a crazy week and I didn't get to send Nancy a note so I figured I'd chime in here
I'm looking forward to meeting some new faces!

NAVYGIRL - What's your first name so that I can add you to the list? Looking forward to meeting you. HUGS, Dawn
