and getting tired is extremely normal - they are poisoning you & your body is fighting back. Takes a lot of energy!
-
Date for cutting off the top o'my haid: Tues. 6/23 at dawn.
eeeeeek!
Lisa
-
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((Lisa))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Oh my gosh. How are you feeling about all this?
-
It took me a second, but I got.it. Lisa - stay strong! You are a fighter and you've got a cheering section rooting you along. Let us know details - kaiser LA? How long do they expect to keep you in the hospital? Can I (we) help you out in any way?
Loving thoughts going your way,
Lisa #3 -
So they will totally shave your head before they do this??? I've got lots of hats for when they take the bandages off.
-
Nah, no shave. The area around the incision on the side/top of my head only. He said if I do a creative comb-over it won't show much at all! That's where my titanium plate and screws will go in. I remember your great variety of hats, Susan, but I don't think I'll need 'em.
Yes, Lisa#3, I'll be at Kaiser-Sunset Medical Center. 24hrs in the ICU minimum, transition to a reg. room, some testing and resting, and yet another MRI, and I hope to be discharged before the afternoon rush on Friday. I'll have a better idea when I wake up and still have my wits about me.
If there is something you all can do, it's get me to Union Station near downtown on Monday early to mid-afternoon. I'll take the train and my daughter T, will bring me back intact, Lord-willing. Can someone semi-local do this for me?
Brenda - how am I feeling? A little bit of trepidation on my decision to treat in this way. Dr.P has my full confidence but the procedure and location are still mighty scary. I do have an Adv. Medical Directive in place, but I hope not to need it!
xxxooo
Lisa
-
Will be thinking of you, Lisa.
-
I've got a doctors appointment at 2:15 (routine followup), but I'd be happy to drive you to the station as long as I can be back up here by then.
-
I have to be here to pick up the kids from school Monday. Dh is working and they aren't done until Wed.
-
Thanks, Susan - I may need to take you up on that. OTOH, I've maybe got a lead on a guy from church who'll take me to my door. He'll be visiting his grandkids while there. It'll save me from having to walk/hobble from the bowels of Union Station all the way to the front doors and then find the taxi line and pay some guy $68 to No.Hollywood.
I don't wanna do this. Can I take my kickball and go home now?
Lisa
-
HOORAY!!! Brahna, let's hope and pray you are one of the very lucky ones. Sure sounds good so far. Don't worry about feeling tired, just listen to your body and sleep when you need to.
So good to get more pix from our Liz.
Hugs, Shirlann

Hi gang...I am physically home...mentally, now-- that is another thing all together..
Yesterday was a really hard drive through construction and traffic from Cedar City
Utah..I know now we are not as young as we used to be...LisaSDCA what in the
world are they doing to you?? Please explain...am wishing you the absolute best..
I will read back...too tired right now..
-
Welcome home SoCal. We missed you. Can you do lunch on the 28th? LisaSDCA has a thread of her own you can check out. It is called the Brain MRI is making me crazy or something like that. She is going through a lot right now.
-
what happened to this thread..we were lost...28th sounds good
-
I have my next chemo on the 25th. If last time is any indication, I should be able to make it but I may not have a ride (if I don't feel up to driving.) I may need to ask for a ride - I live in Mira Mesa near where we met last month.
I think I'm feeling the first effects of hair loss. My scalp is hurting the way it does when you change the direction of your hair. This just started about an hour or so ago. No actual hair loss yet.
Brahna
-
Hi everyone...seems we need to find a place...how about something close to
Mira Mesa for Brahna..and away from County Fair traffic
-
Hi gals, count me in for June 28th, I will be able to come and looking forward to the time together.
Welcome home, Lisa, Hugs, Shirl
-
me too.
welcome back Liz - we missed you.
-
Hi all. I got a buzz cut!! My hair started to come out this morning. I wasn't going to let it get to me so I took the upper hand and got rid of as much of it as I could. It's going to take some getting used to seeing me this way in the mirror.
I tried to put my photo in here. I've done it before but can't get it to work this time. You can see my buzz cut if you go to my blog: www.brahnaderr.blogspot.com
-
Brahna - you'll get used to all the people telling you that you have a nice-shaped head - but it's better than the alternative! Shaving it off first is definitely the way to go.
-
How about one of those places down by LisaSDCA so we can get her out and about for the day. How you feeling Lisa? Do you want to come out and play on the 28th some place close to home?
Brahna-You will be so glad you got rid of the hair. I remember how bad it itched when it was falling out.
-
Hi - Yesterday I took my wig to Ophelia at A Greater Hope. She is an absolute treasure! She fixed my wig for me. And I walked away with lots of hats and scarves. So many beautiful things in such a small area. I'm definitely going to have fun! Changed my photo to my new look.
I'm game for going anywhere. I don't expect to be sick just very tired.
-
Hi everyone..from what she said above, I think LisaSDCA will be doing other things..on the 28th
(((hugs))))
Brahna, I love your new avatar..how about you suggest a place in Mira Mesa..??
-
Brahna-That looks great.
Anywhere is fine with me.
-
I will think good healing thoughts - but I will be only have been out of the ICU four days. I intend to get OUT of the hospital before that, but it may be overly optimistic to think (wish) I could join you for Brunch.
Bonnie you look terrific, you and your custom wig and radiant smile!
Lisa
-
Lisa, We would like you to join us but you will know best whether you're up to it. Take care of your self first.
How about Bucca Di Beppo?
-
That sounds good..Brahna...how about noon??
-
Ooh, the 28th is my number 2 son's 16th birthday. Well, I will just have to catch up with everyone in July....
Bonni - love the new avatar. You look great. You have such a good attitude and I really think that's half the battle!
LisaSDCA - you are in our prayers. Please have your daughter keep us updated.
-
Oh, and Liz - welcome back. We missed you, but loved the pics!
-
I think I stumbled onto a good thread. I'm in Encinitas, it's comforting to know that you're out there.
