Let's conduct our own study on how we all got breast cancer

The ice cream trucks caused mine. Those little square doors that opened to smoky, frosty holes were probably cancer incubators.
-
Oh yes bomb pops!
-
For me it was the ice cream called Buried Treasure. It was orange sherbet and each plastic stick/holder... was different.
-
I'm thinking mine is a direct result from always chewing on my rabbit foot key chain (I know, gross) that was dyed bright purple. That plus a 5-year daily intake of Twinkies and Spagettios between the ages of 8 and 13. Ah, Chef BoyRDee, what's in that red sauce of yours?
-
It could have been that stuff my mom put on my fingers to get me to stop biting? Didn't work but sure must have given me bc! Wonder if I should call an attorney.
-
Stop and Grow. Never!!!!!
-
LOL I think it was the minty smelling cleaner they used after a kid bafred at school
-
Good morning everyone. I have read, but not posted here. I think it HAD to be frozen kool aid popsicles in those nifty holders. The sugar changed into some cancer causing formula when frozen..
OR that pure, dark brown Lysol mom used to clean the bathroom. Or cloth diapers with "rubber pants" over top. Detergents with phosphates, clothes hung outside to air dry, or those heavily starched "girly" dresses mom made me wear, when I was happier in jeans and a tshirt.
-
Hmmmm, minty smelling? I think they only used the dirty water the janitor had in those pails at my schools a hundred years ago. No telling what was lurking in that water!
-
Or those crinolines(sp?) under the skirts to make them stand way out from your legs. Allowed all manner of germs to go up 'there' LOL. But, yes, leftyakanancy, I bet the chemicals in the rubber pants leaked and went through the diapers to our very tender skin. Or, maybe it was the supposedly "pure" Ivory Snow detergent that diapers had to be washed in!
I think we need some class-action lawsuits going here.
-
I remember some granules, or maybe saw dust, thrown on barf when I was in school, back in the good old days. Did any of you have to do air raid drills, hide under your desk, with the fumes from barf remover? And the pieces of chewing gum stuck under the desk. We had ink wells for "penmanship" and the boy behind me always tried to stick me with his pen. How about eraser dust? Smacking erasers together to clean them.
-
And I always wanted to erase the board. I think they should have had a warning label on erasers and the chalkboard. Chalk - oh my - after you wrote on the board you just wiped your hands together, went back to your desk and then went to lunch and ate. So I was also eating chalk dust after I inhaled it from erasing the board. So, school was hazardous to my health.
-
I never really chewed gum, always ate it. Beemans, Teaberry, Juicy Fruit and those giant gumballs were the Best!!......and then we would make chains out of the gum wrappers. I am sure it was those massive wads of gum in my stomach that caused all my problems. Or maybe it was the huge amounts of sugar I consumed from the home-made Lick A Maid (sp) we used to make with koolaid and sugar.. Yes I remember the air raids and we even had a bomb shelter set up in the basement.
-
Wasn't Dubble Bubble pink in color? And those thin sheets of pink gum in packets of baseball cards?
-
Think it could have been the Clearasil?
-
Did any of you have one of those haircuts with spit curls on the side, where you "pasted" them down with some kind of glue stuff? It made the hair stick to your face. I also used scotch tape on my bangs overnight to keep them in place. Maybe my brain was deprived of blood flow and that caused my BC...!!!
-
Piggy tails too thight LOL
-
Never had pigtails after first grade and my "curls" got dipped in the ink well of the boy who sat behind me. Mom had made LONG rag curls in my already naturally curly hair. She was preggers with my sister and after the ink dipping, she cut it short and that was that.
How about those chunks of coal or red dog, gravel - imbedded in our knees and elbows from falls off our bikes?
-
I know I know! It was Dippity Doo!!! Tami lol
-
omg Dippity Doo! must have been the Dippity Doo. Mini Shampoo. And Love's Baby Soft. Everything I baked in my Easy Bake Oven. Eating chocolate chip cookie dough... from cut and bake packages in the fridge....
-
gotta add something to get on Favorite Topics... Nancy Drew ... Trying all the dances on American Bandstand and Soul Train... ah, here it is, wearing my wet jeans to properly break them in...
-
Maybe it was the shoes that pinched my toes; then that "stuff" in the little bottle to put on the corns that developed on my toes (got rid of them though!)
-
snack pack puddings- especially because I licked the lids... carrying my lunch in my Yogi Bear or Flintstones lunch box... oh wait, it must be Mr. Bubble.
-
Cracker jacks had a plastic toy in them, that must be it
-
No, it was Bosco.
-
i ate butter cookies while sticking my finger through the hole in the middle and ate around them in a circle...everybody ate them that way right???
-
Nope, only you did that and it gave you BC.
-
sorry, couldn't resist that.
-
Nope definitely paper dolls preferably the ones you cut out of the news papers way back when and barbies wow had to just settle for paper dolls and maybe it was the crayons we used to make the dolls clothes.
-
I used to eat the peanutbutter cookies the same way. Stick my finger in the middle hole and eat all the way around. Guess that did me in too!
