Liz, I really love your photos.  Keep 'em coming!

Susan, thanks for posting the picture - although I would have loved to have cropped me out!!

What's with our weather - yesterday I thought summer had arrived.  Today - hazy and little sun.

Brahna - good luck with your first chemo tomorrow.  I know you will do just fine.

Thunder in Vista. Don't hear that much around here. I like it but every dog in the neighborhood is barking up a storm. Mine is just quivering next to me waiting for the next boom.

I know, I miss you guys, too. We've been insanely busy on the weekends since the kids started basketball at the Y. I keep watching for a lunch date that I can make, and I promise I'll try to join you all soon. Smile

Hi all,  everything went well for me yesterday.  I drank a TON of water and of course the bathroom trips that went with it.

It was suggested that I get a fruit and vegetable wash - tried at my local Alberton's and Ralph's.  They stopped carrying it. Anyone know where to get it.  Can't have any fresh fruit or vegetables until I do.  What have you done with your fruits and veggies so that you can eat them?

Today, I'm feeling weird - it's not quite nausea but it's a feeling in my throat that won't go away.  I thought it might be so I took some of the anti-nausea pills.  No real change.  And now I think I'm getting a headache.

I went for the neulasta shot and winced a little bit but none of the reactions that the nurse was telling me some people have when she gives it.  That was around 11:30.   So far no bone aches.  I'm waiting for all the se I hear about to kick in but none really so far.

Bonnie-I never felt the Neulasta working for about 2 days. Then my spin would ache like a headache. The chemo se's were much more troublesome for me than the Neulasta. Febreeze was making a spray for veggies and fruit when I was going through chemo. I never used it. I just washed everything really good like aways. Glad you made it through okay.

Lisa #3-I love your hair. Curly and thick. Just what I want.

June luncheon anyone? SoCal will be back at the end of the month so why don't we wait until then. How about the 28th? You know I am partial to the Sunday's. I really think this time we should go down to LisaSDCA's neck-of-the-woods whether she likes it or not.

Brahna, i think I got some of that vegetable and fruit wash at Trader Joe's.  You might try Whole Foods too, but since you are so close to TJ's now - call them first. I personally never used that stuff (kept forgetting that I had bought it) - I just washed fruits and veggies well with water.  But that was just me.

You may feel some se's in a day or two - or maybe not.  Do stay on top of the nausea, if it becomes a problem, with whatever they gave you.  I also found advil helpful with the achiness of the Neulasta (or I supposed tylenol would work too).  Give yourself plenty of time to rest, nap and just know you will feel better.  I also used acupuncture to help with energy.  Keep us updated.

Hi all, thanks Liz for the beautiful pix!  Just love them!

3 boys 4me, silly goose, you looked about 10 years old on Sunday!  Don't do a thing, just enjoy looking so lovely.  I would KILL for that hair!

Brahna, when my friend was in Saudi Arabia for 20 years (hubby was a TWA pilot, ran off with a stewardess) they soaked and rinsed thier fruits and veggies with a bleach/water solution, but it did taste.

I would just Google it, everything in the world is on the net.

    Hugs to all, Shirlann

PS:  The 28th would be great for me, perfect.

Hi all, Tom got me the rinse at Trader Joe's last nite.  So nice that there's one in Mira Mesa/Scripps Ranch now.  I'm now into day 3.  We had an Exchange Club board meeting this morning.  Five days ago I didn't know if I'd be able to make it but I did with no problems - just alll those darn bathroom trips.

Shirlann - thanks for the bleach tip.  I had mentioned to my husband that I remembered that my aunt washes all her fruits and veggies with a clorox solution.

Lisa#3 - Don't fret over your hair.  It looked good to me.

    Hi all,

Today I started to feel the 'growing pains' from the neulasta.  I've got to get my stuff together tonight to head back to work tomorrow morning.  Hopefully I'll get to it as all I want to do right now is stretch out and do virtually nothing.

Brahna - I guess the neulasta increases the production of white blood cells and that's what causes the pain - hopefully yours won't be too bad.  Also, like Jeanne said, stay on top of the nausea. I convinced myself that it was the nausea meds that was making me nauseaus - but, no, that wasn't the case - take the meds!!

June 27th or 28th works for me.  28th if middle son's 16th b-day but will probably just do a family dinner.  If we go down by LisaSDCA, the parkhouse eatery http://www.parkhouseeatery.com/ is one of my favorite places.

I started my nutrition class online at Mesa today.  If I learn anything interesting about nutrition and cancer, I will be sure to share with everyone.  I'm also taking Word beg and int because we just upgraded to 2007 and it's nothing like the old version.

Liz - Banff - I so want to go there.  It looks so beautiful.  When Rod and I finally retire we will travel about in our RV to all the wonderful places you are showing in your pictures - off season of course!

Hey Lisa, be sure and have the buffet at the hotel!  It is great, and if you go on to Jasper they have a sno-cat ride up the glacier.  That is a real winner.

    Love the pix!

    Hi Ladies,

I am so glad that I have you to "speak" with as I am doing so well that I almost hate to post on the June chemo thread.

I started back to work on Monday and immediately decided that I should work only half time.  Thanks Susan for that tidbit of info.  It does feel good to be back. I got to work and then felt a little tired.  Everyone at work is so supportive.  They were sending me home after 4 hours on Monday.   It was good timing so that I can continue my state disabiltiy  and don't have to go through another waiting period.  So my doctor is going to fill out the forms to go thru Sept.  in case I need it - it's easier to go back full time than to extend the leave.

I haven't been truly nauseous - just a little queasiness but it's gone away.  But today my back has really been bothering me and I had a bad headache.  A vicodin has helped me with that.  But I do get tired in the afternoons.  Not sure if that's just normal or because I've not been sleeping thru the nite.  Went in for my 1st followup today and was given sleeping pills to take.

We're going to a wedding on Saturday.  At first I didn't know if I'd be able to make it but the way  I've been lately, it looks as if I won't have any problems.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

Brahna - good for you!  You should begin to feel better and better - hope you enjoy the wedding and have a nice weekend altogether.  Sleeping pills can really help with the ever-needed "night's sleep." And don't forget, your body is getting hit with some strong anti-cancer drugs.   If you feel tired, take a  nap and don't worry why.  Good plan to work half-time for right now.  Jeanne

Brahna - it's actually easy to extend the part-time disability. I did it when my treatment took longer than expected. Also, my doctors signed a handicapped parking form for me. I mostly only used it where I live because I don't have a permit, but for those times you are tired, it's a wonderful thing to have.

Great that you are feeling well enough to go to the wedding. Stay on the June list - other weird things might happen later on in treatment that will be good to know about. I also didn't have it as bad as other people did, but found all the misc. info. really helpful.

This is awful, but when you are feeling bad, it's nice to know that some people have it worse!
