Yeah.  It's two, not one.  But what's a tribble?

Boy am I showing my age. If it wasn't for my father and his love of Sci-Fi I wouldn't know what it was either. On the original Star Trek series was a show called 'The trouble with Tribbles'. Long story short, a tribble was an alien creature that looked like a fur ball that purred when petted and was very comforting to hold. they were so furry you couldn't tell which end was up. They hated Klingons and reacted vith loud screeches when handed to a Klingon. This was when the Klingons looked more like Vulcans, it was never explained what caused the change in their apperance in later series. When it ate, it multiplied. They got into a grain shipment and the ship was overrun with the cute furry creatures. Because of the reaction of the Tribbles they found a Klingon spy on the ship. I won't go into any more details but it was a funny episode.

    Somewhere under there I think there's a buzzy-bat! Tell me you have a Dyson!!!Wink

Do you show and/or breed? I think your 'cargo' was indeed precious -  were they imports? Do you have the challenges of the radical A/Rs where you live?

I remember seeing Trouble with Tribbles in re-runs.It was a CLASSIC!

I too saw the original episode I think in 1967 or 1968. I didn't think I was that old either. My sister's son has bought her the dvd's of the original series over several years for her birthday. You can google 'trouble with Tribbles' and find a more complete synposis of the episode. It is a classic!

Hi girls, back again from sewing class.

They are, indeed, alive and sent to me by my buddy from San Fran.  I do breed and sometimes show.  Not much anymore, though.  Mostly have them to love, harvest wool and spin.  I usually have about 2 dozen of them in the barn.

Any AR's come onto my prop and they have to peer down the barrel of my shotgun. LOL  My BB gun, at the very least.

Sheila, you are a youngster!  Just look at the roses blooming in those cheeks!!!  I'm much older but don't remember Tribbles because I never watched Star Wars or Trek.

BTW, Dyson not required because of the barn.  However, special protective clothing is de rigeur to keep the fuzz off.  I have a drawer full of those colorful printed nurses' smocks.

Tina, those roses blooming on my cheeks were actually a hot flash brought on by the photographers lights! When I get the least bit warm, my face flushes bright red including my ears!

my mom doesn't like the sci-fi but my dad sure does like it.

Marin go back til you find the long loop eared bunnies on the bottom of the page (I think it may be page 53.  Then know that a Tribble is a purring lump of fluff that is born pregnant.  And they are absolutely adorable until they eat all of the wheat.....

What is AR coming onto the property.... I know what UG is (uninvited guest).  Is an AR another term for that?

Thanks, everyone!  Yes, dream, that's why I picked a Celtic knot.  It's a nod to my Celtic heritage and it has no beginning and no end, so it can stand for love, friendship and all things infinite.

I got a little fan note from a male "friend of friend" on Facebook this morning to tell me I had "sexy" legs.  I think this young man is probably in his thirties, and it's not going to be me who tells him that those legs belong to a 55-year-old woman!!

Beth, the shoes are the infamous purple shoes I posted a photo of here back around December.  Tina, we really do have to reconvene our shopping trip plans!!  I've been having too much fun without you, so we need to have some fun together.  Anyone for Newton, Mass??  It's like shopping in London, beautiful stores, lovely architecture.

Beth, how is the job going?

I attend all of the parties-- and we throw one each month, so just as one ends, the next one begins- with proofing the invites, sending them out- getting the rsvp's, the entertainment, the caterers... It's pretty fun though, so I have to stop complaining.

The July party will be a super event- a Caribbean BBQ with a steel drum band poolside!!!

My friend took me material shopping and at the last minute both my grown daughters decide to come.  My eldest and I had birthdays in April, and the younger one trailed along in May.  So the friend (known as Aunt Pepi) bought material for:

2 dresses for me - one a wonderful black on white flower design, the other a fade from pink to deep red with sparkly red calla lilies on it

my youngest wants a pixie costume (its a long story).  So we got this purply shimmery material with silver swirls and (are you ready) crinoline material (purple).  Who in their right mind would WANT scratchy legs.

my eldest wants a vest and skirt.  So the vest looks like red leather and the skirt is large cubes which she wants sideways for diamond shapes

Looks like I will have the wardrobe for Florida

Yes, Kathi, we must make plans.  I am always up for a good shopping and dishing expedition.

And, BTW, your legs are great.  Ready for the chorus line!

dream, that's so nice of your friend to offer to sew for you.  Yes, let's see the projects when you have a chance.  Can't wait to see the pixie costume.
