Hi Bonni..it is good you were able to talk to both doctors and get more info...I have not had a pet scan, but I have had four bone scans...I think it is rather the norm to get one..in fact I had one
last month...nothing much too it..they insert some nuclear stuff in your arm and then you drink lots of water...they just run a scanner over your body..I didn't even have to take my clothes off..
This time of gathering information , sifting through the results, and making a treatment plan is really an anxious time for everyone involved including you and your family...but it is best to know
as much as possible so a good decision can be made...
it was great meeting you at the lunch bunch, we are so happy you have joined our little group..
Know that we are all sending hugs your way..

What about May?? Any of our sisters with good ideas???
Hugs, Shirl
-
I am going to be gone for May and probably Jjune..so someone has to remember to take photos...I will miss you all
-
Hi ladies,
Has anyone had their mx at Mercy in Hillcrest? I was wondering what they provide you with since I've read that some hospitals give you camisoles, etc.
Brahna
-
hi Brahna...not I...sorry
-
Brahna-I went to Scripps in Encinitas plus I had my recon right away. There are stores in San Diego that can help you with that though. Google it and I am sure you will find something useful.
-
Hi Brahna,
I missed meeting you in April since I was out of the country. However, I have also consulted with Dr. Nagourney, had the test that he does (by another facility - unfortunately) and have also had numerous PET/CT scans since I have metastatic disease. PM me if you have any questions about the scans. I'd also like to hear what you think of Dr. Wallach.
Jeanne
-
Welcome back Jeanne...you arrive home and I will be leaving...hope to see you this summer
-
Liz, Have a wonderful trip. It's sounds great.
I had a fantastic time in Israel. Saw so much, but feel I need to go back and see more. Traveling with our group of Aussies was fun, too.
LisaSDCA - Hope you are doing better. So very sorry you had to go back on the evil decadron - but do hope it will help you soon. When is your next scan?
To all - I look forward to catching up with you in May.
-
LisaSDSC - that sucks!!! Big hugs. I'm going back to Florida tomorrow or I'd come for a visit. Good luck tomorrow - I'm hoping for good news.
Brahna - I've never heard of free camisoles, but I did get one at Nordstroms at UTC. If you tell them why you ate looking, they have this form to fill out so you won't have to pay sales tax. Sorry for the bad news, but it sounds like you are now getting the proper attention.
Jeanne - welcome home. Shirlann ... what can I say. It sounds like something I would have done though without the gps device. I'm still getting ribbed for missing a party 6 years ago when I got lost!
-
I can meet on the 17th or the 31st of May.
Jeanne-I don't know either of those doctors. Sorry you are having to go through so many tests.
GuitarGrl-Back to Florida again? You must spend a fortune on travel. I hope your trip is productive not to stressful.
LisaSDCA-If we have lunch some place down by you do you think you can make it this time?
SoCal-We are going to miss you soooooooooooooooooooo much.
Brahna-Why don't you ask that other sister to join us this month.
Shrilann-We've missed you.
Nash-Are Sunday's impossible for you?
Melia-We missed you in Carlsbad. When can you join us again?
Kaye-I got your answer on facebook today. Hope to see you when you can get down here.
Anybody else out there what to join us for lunch in San Diego? We are very friendly and love people to join us. Really, we don't bite and you don't have to be a member of a club or anything.
-
Prayers for my MRI scan tomorrow night, please.
I can't drive in the dark and it'll run past 10pm (too late for workin' folks) so I'll take a cab down the hill.
Brenda, I hope hope hope that I'll make it to lunch this month.
xxxooo
Lisa
-
Hey, Brenda. Yeah, weekends in general have been crazy busy for us.
-
Lisa, we were posting at the same time. I'll be praying up a storm for good MRI results for you. Hope all goes well.
-
Hello all..Lisa---prayers to you dear friend for a good day tomorrow and konw that we are all with you.
Brahna--I have read thru all of your past posts and it sounds like you are being so brave and strong---that is great! It sounds like alot of us were---just get it done and over and OUT!!! You will have your ups and downs but will make it thru I'm sure.
Jeanne--missed you at lunch and can't wait to hear about your trip!
Susan--how long will you be in Fla?
Ok---gotta go--went to San Fran for the weekend to visit my sister and help her out--she is lead bassoon player (just for fun!) in an orchestra ---so had a fast but fun visit---except for delays in LAX!!---and have been playing catchup with stuuff around the house last night and work today.
So---why don't we think about May 31st and start a count...?
Sylvia
-
Sylvia-I can't believe I left you out of that long post. I am so sorry. I was just trying to go from memory and we all know how good that is these days. Love ya.
LisaSDCA-Prayers and hugs galore.
-
I'll be in Florida for a week = I have to get more bank forms for my mom's Medicaid application, and it's easier (though way more expensive) to do in person - especially since I have a May 11th deadline. It'll be stressful - I'm feeling nauseous just knowing I have to get on a plane tomorrow.
I can do the 31st.
-
Hi--NOT a problem Brenda--BTW--if you know anyone needing to rent a condo---let me know---in the thick of cleaning and fixing again...what a pain!! So --did I read that someone was in touch with Kato?
S
-
Sylvia-don't know anyone wanting a rental right now. I did converse with Kato on facebook. She won't be down for awhile. Its a long drive for lunch and her and dh are sticking closer to home these days.
LisaSDCA-How long do we have to wait for news now?
-
I'm waiting - not patently at all. My onc. is on vacation for a week, I dscovered. My neurosurgeon is tied up in " a procedure" ALL day. Each of them promised I'd have the results first thing this morning.
crap
Lisa.
-
LisaSDCA-Sorry to hear that. You would think they would make an extra effort to make sure you were informed. (((((((((((((((((((((hugging you)))))))))))))))))))))))))
-
Big hugs, Lisa. Hope the docs get back with you SOON!!!!
-
I found out a friend in San Marcos was dx today. I told her to come here. If your here friend, I have been thinking about you all day. We are here for you whenever you need us. We became sisters today.
-
I began a thread in the Stage IV section. Forgive me if I don't type it all again.
My Dr, called at the end of the afternoon. Could go either way, active tumor or radiation necrosis. I'm praying for necrosis.
Thanks for ALL your support. It;s been a hellacious day.
Lisa
-
Thanks for checking in over here, Lisa. I read your thread over on the mets forum. I'm praying for necrosis, too. Can't even imagine your stress level today--wish I could do something to help.
-
Sorry to hear about your friend, Brenda. Let her know I'm in SM--she can contact me directly if she likes.
-
There's a tumor in my right temporal lobe also.
I refer you again to the Section IV
Lisa
-
Well, shit, Lisa. I'm so sorry.
-
Lisa - that sucks big time. I am so sorry - for the dx as well as all the crap they put you through. Tell 'em you want Ambien - it works better than Ativan for sleep.
