You're right, the simple joys - He gave you life to see your daughter blossom.

    A BOYFRIEND!!! PROM!!!!!!!!

I promise not to 'carry on' over at FaceBook about all of these developments, but I'm just so tickled for our little missy -- and her, so, deserving, mommy.

GREAT big prom hugs to the both of you!!

Saint- it IS the little things! What a shame people get so caught up with "important" things that they miss the really special moments, the really important stuff. I so wish the world would just relax, forget the crap and just enjoy, really enjoy their life, family, friends, sitting outside in the sun not doing anything.....

So, onto the important stuff...has she found a dress and whatdoes it look like? We will be dress shopping in the next few weeks. I love shopping w/dd for these kinds of things.

Simple Joys dear Saint. I love how settled and peaceful you sound, hugs

I was concerned about the "prom-dress-shopping-trip" since I have heard horror stories about fighting & crying from friends who have already walked this road with their dd's----BUT---we were laying in my bed watching a movie yesterday & I googled PROM DRESS on my laptop. Low & behold the first site had 500 dresses & we both chose the same one after looking at only about 40!!!

It is red satin & is very simple; a slip dress trimmed down one side with black lace-----a little sexy, but VERY demure & modest........now I hope it fits! Part of me is sorry for missing the shopping trip---but a bigger part of me is saying THANK GOD!!!!!!  LOL

I will have to post pix when the big day comes........simple pleasures ARE the best...now for a pot roast pot pie!

    Hugs===be well & stay strong

What wonderful news!!  I am so happy for you and your daughter! Your note moved me to tears (good tears).  Thank you so much for sharing! Smile

Two daughters and at least 5 or 6 proms between them and not one tear shed over a dress.

I'll never forget when DD2 found a stunning dress for $18.00 on the sale rack of a very high store. She looked like a million bucks and I was so proud of her.

What a brilliant plan to find the dress on line. I know missy's gonna be the belle of the ball. Can't wait for pictures. When is the big event?

Held, good tears are always welcome & do good things for our hearts & brains. (seriously)

May 9--same day as son's prom (her boyfriend is at a different school--not surprising since dh teaches at their school & she pronounced she'd "NEVER have a boyfriend from their HS since all the boys are afraid of Daddy!")

Now I'm concerned about timing---will the dress come in time for alterations?? ...and will doltish son EVER ask someone to go with him & order his #%$#$% tux???????? LOL (told dd to make him go for a tux today on the way home from school--so we shall see)

    all happy problems!!!! HUGS

bumping with the news that proms are on TWO diffferent weekends---son asked someone on Sat (if it was my dd I'd have said NO--too little notice!) & he has ordered his tux

Dd's dress arrived & it is too smashing...needs a little taking in------on an XS!! Go figure (I keep telling her I was that thin ONCE- Enjoy it now! LOL)

Asking for prayers that my current pain is an old injury resurfacing AND that they can dx & tx will work! HUGS

Held, I'm holding my breath till I get to see the prom pictures. Saint has incredibly good looking kids.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy to hear about your insurance company acting moral & ethical, this time. Yeah!!

Saint. You know that I'm praying for you on a continual loop...... be strong sister. be strong...... and when you wanna scream -- just give me a call.

I need some serious, major, heavy-duty prayers, please ladies......  Remember the fundraising I was doing for the Komen Race for the Cure on mother's day?  Well, I am planning on running the full 5k, but on Monday I did something to my right foot and it still hurts like crazy!  I have terrible pain, especially walking down steps. Can you please pray that I have immediate and complete healing of this pain and what is causing it?  PLEASE!?!?!?!?!?

Ou rwalk is coming up, too. I'll be walking, no thoughts of running..... not in this lifetime. It's such an inspirational day.

Oh dear, Held. I can hear the heartache in your post.

Will certainly continue my prayers for your restoration.

I hope that you are still able to participate in some manner.

The walk I did in Detroit offered a trolley car option for any survivors who were unable to walk at the time -- for whatever reason. Maybe there's such an option??

    Big hugs sweetie.

Elaine, I'm sure hoping that you're feeling better today. Missed your presence, big time.

Saint my dearest, can't wait to hear about little missie's prom!!! LOVE her new FB pic with handsome brother.

Here's a fitting way to conclude our page 400 beach fun:

I lifted this photo from Photobucket, but I see it's @ Santa Cruz.....

Our oldest was married out there overlooking the ocean, perched up high in a park.

The night before we all spent here, at the fun-park. Pretty big, fun.

Hope that everyone has a great day tomorrow -- remembering our own mothers.

Celebrating their contribution to our lives.
