Bummer Sharon. It was pretty good last night. They had the first hollywood round and eliminated all but about 100 so its moving pretty fast now. The top talent is beginning to emerge.

I think so, Spar. I think they are also cutting out drama queens/kings. This was group nite <where they have to sing in groups> and most of the groups that had issues, most of the people who caused trouble were cut.

I LOVE Adam Lambert (was in Wicked) and oh crap I can't remember the other guy's name now! The one who's wife died so soon before the auditions? LOVE him, too. I'd totally buy their CD's!

He got cut! I am almost glad, because I felt like he got put through only for his family connection. He was cute, he sang well, but he had NO experience.

Did I mention I LOVE Adam Lambert and the guy who I still can't remember his name (stupid chemo brain)

I love Adam Lambert, too. Are you talking about the guy that wears glasses and plays keyboard that you can't remember? I think his first name is Danny. I was surprised that Tatianna made it through. This is a great topic.

Yes! Danny (his wife died right before the auditions, and his best friend is just as cool). I am just mesmerized by both of them.

I googled Adam Lambert, and there are a bunch of clips on youtube of him. One is pitch black, obviously someone took the video in secret, but it is beautiful. He's great.

Idol Contestant Joanna Pacitti is Disqualified

This is the girl with the previous recording contract. She apparently has been disqualified after making it into the final 36 last night.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - An "American Idol" contestant who made the show's top 36 was disqualified. In its press released issued Wednesday night announcing the 36 contenders, Fox TV said that Joanna Pacitti was "ineligible to continue." No reason was given.

Felicia Barton of Virginia Beach, Va., replaced Pacitti, a Philadelphia native, in the top 36.

The show announced the semifinalists Wednesday night, then later released an update saying it had cut Pacitti loose and subbed in Barton, a 26-year-old married mom.

I like the girl with the pink in her hair and the cowboy and the last guy whose wife died. It was a good show tonight.

The first guy and the girl with the pink hair were the best I thought. Unfortunately,quite a few of the girls really bombed with bad song choices, clothes or on stage presence.

The judges comments seemed to take a long time too, the new judge Kara (?) talks a lot!

I think 4 judges are too many. I wonder if they really were planning to replace Paula with Kara and then for whatever reason ended up with both.

I like Alexis Grace (girl with pink hair) and Danny Gokey (last guy whose wife died) for the best of each gender. For third place it's harder. I liked the first guy, but having not gotten any play during auditions or Hollywood week it's going to be tough for him to get the votes (see, I don't even know his name!) and I'm fond of Anoop. This new format really makes it impossible to recover from a bad night or to develop a following. Not sure I like it. But I will be really interested to see what the judges do with their "wild card" pics after all the voting is done.
