My goodness at all the drama going on these political threads. But lets face reality.....Politics and religion are the two most controversial topics ever and have caused many a fight. The third most controversial subject-at least in GA- is college football. you can get beat up around here for that!
Herb, please stop fantasing about me.....isnt stalking enough for you? I almost felt sorry for you today out in the rain like that, bout brought you an umbrella, then I thinks...."na"
I never made it to the shopping as I have spent ALL DAY working on ONE PROJECT!!!!
-
IBC, your sense of humor is great. I bet you keep Cam in stitches! And please do let Rocky have the guy with the tight buns. You don't need him.
Moody, what project? $!
-
IBC. You have such a way with words.LOL THey could sure use someone on SNL with some right sided humor.
I wish I could get into all the retail therapy(great concept) but I hate to shop. I have been taking in my pants because they are too big now and I just cannot do my bit for economy and buy new clothes. So I am still wearing things a couple of sizes too big. I could probably use one of those makeovers big time.
Moody, cant wait to see the project!
Shirley, you could use a haircut! That hubby of yours must really drive you wild!
-
You MUST look at the very short little video I posted up there. It reminds me of myself when I look at myself in the mirror. LOL It's only 16 seconds. If you love animals you'll love this. LOL
-
vivre way to "rub it in" with all the talk about how skinny u are LMAO!! and the coment about having to take up ur pants was priceless! you gonna make shirley drive off a cliff if u keep it up!
-
Hi all. Been very busy with Christmas and work. I hope you all had happy holidays. I don't know about you all, but we are living in a literal deep freeze, ugh, thank goodness for the fireplace, and furnaces of course.
OOPs, guess I should have read all of what I posted before I copied and pasted, geesh, okay here is another snow joke.
The Michaels family owned a small farm in Canada, just yards away from the North Dakota border. Their land had been the subject of a minor dispute between the United States and Canada for generations. Mrs. Michaels, who had just celebrated her ninetieth birthday, lived on the farm with her son and three grandchildren. One day, her son came into her room holding a letter. "I just got some news, Mom," he said. "The government has come to an agreement with the people in Washington. They've decided that our land is really part of the United States. We have the right to approve or disapprove of the agreement. What do you think?" "What do I think?" his mother said. "Jump at it! Call them right now and tell them we accept! I don't think I could stand another one of those Canadian winters!"
-
No worries, anyway collectively we the same as we did last year ... any pounds that Vivre lost, I found. Now I just gotta find someone to pawn my pounds on ... hey do you think Barbed would want them?
-
-
Summer...that is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time! Thanks for the laughs. And they say that Canadians have no sense of humor! Wait, who had the nerve to say that? Those Italians or Swedes?
-
I laughed too, but in the end thought, hmmm, maybe not everyone will see the humor.
-
Aren't y'all having a good time! Wish some of you would come take down Christmas decor with me......it's a lonely job, as SOME people just huddle in front of their TVs and watch bowl games....
If WE were going to Inaugural balls, we could talk about our gowns. We here, Democrats & Republicans & Independents alike, are hoping for zero weather, so that the city is not hopelessly jammed. We appreciate the enthusiasm, but no one will be able to get downtown to join in!
And, no, I am not up early; I am up late!!
PS: Cam's husband is a lucky guy~~~but then, so is she!!
-
No, Moody, my dh is going to make me drive off a cliff OR I'm gonna push HIM off a cliff so I can get his insurance money. I'd like the smack the crap out of him right now..he did something stupid...but one of my dd's used to work for the Domestic Violence Shelter and that would not look good. HOWEVER, she IS now an attorney and she would probably help me out cuz she'd be mad at him too!
Stop bragging about your little pants, Vivre! I will never get back down to that size..I used to be that size. Actually, I was too skinny at that size..everyone said so. I don't have enough years left to get down to a size 6/8. I'd probably be in my 80s before I reached that goal. LOL

I just heard something funny ion Fox. Looks like the divorce rate will drop due to this bad economy. Given the fact that it is hard to sell a house along with other things, (such as a back up salary and health insurance) it makes more sense for a couple to work it out
-
Maybe that's why our grandparents tended to stay together more ... too difficult financially.
-
I'm back from my factfinding trip. I actually came home with money that I won. The only reason for that was $25 blackjack tables. That I won't do. So I get to keep my moola and theirs. Yep, business as usual in the casinos. That would be normal anyway for New Year's.
Shirley, you look devine. And Moody, I'm reporting you and anyone else who keeps body parts in such good condition. What a way to start a new year. And I want to go golfing with spouse.
I'm sorry to read that Bush didn't pardon the border patrol cops. He still has time to do so, no? The guy they shot was a well known drug dealer. He took many trips over the border. He deserved what he got. The border cops didn't. Well I'm enjoying all the bowl games, then back to the business of politics eventually.
-
We heard that Moody and Herbie are going golfing with Tiger Wolf! LOL
(anyway, that's what I picked up on with my high powered voice recorder stashed up in Moody's tree)
-
Thank you daffadil, you are right, I am a very lucky guy.
Rock, you can play golf with me anytime, bring your own cigars, and I will get the work sch of the grounds keeper for you. Moody can't play she's too athletic, she can bench press three hundred pounds, I can't bench press my double chin,
-
How 'bout if I just drive the golf cart (and drink all the beer in the cooler). I still get to wear crazy colored mis-matched clothes though, right?
Moody can wear this:
-
Works for me
-
Daffodil, glad to see you are surviving out in the big DC, soon to be Obamaville. I am so glad I will not be anywhere near the coronation. Isn't taking down the decorations the pits? Seems like I just put them up!
I love to play golf, but none of my outfits are that cute. I did buy a nice golf shirt today at Tuesday Morning for $2. I am not kidding! They had all the markdowns at 50% off. I needed a smaller golf shirt. LOL Shirley!
ijl, I think that is really true that the divorce rate is low because no one can afford it right now. I have a good friend who is staying with her smuck of a cheating husband because she knows she cannot sell right now. Do you hear that Shirley? Be nice to the DH. At least for the time being! Am I picking on you?? You know I love you, even though you hate me!
-
Shirley, I am very shocked that your DH would even THINK about going up against you!!! And remember......hard to find a body if you leave a different part in each state.....LOL
Rosemary all I can say is LMAO.....That pic is actually 2 years old......
Rock----ROFL while I'm LMAO. Guess I will never live down the Tiger Wolf one huh. It does crack me up how I just brain fart!!! But I cant wear that little tennis dress....my boobs are TOO BIG for it!!!!!
How bout I drive the golf cart, you drink the beer, and ibcspouse can beat up Mr. Wolf with his double chin.
-
Have to chuckle about the concern for the Obamas having to camp out at the Hay-
Adams~~~they will be well taken care of! The younger daughter's school is in my neighborhood~~~bedlam at carpool time, I imagine! I would hope that the Secret Service gets to bypass the line, though I wouldn't want to mess with some of those Sidwell mommies. The schools are a wise choice, and everyone will have a lovely life in the White House~~~~although apparently the West Wing is going to change the world in seven days? I wish the best for all of us living creatures....AND the environment, too.
It will be fascinating to have a front-row seat, so to speak.
-
Daffodil, there is hope for the environment...the new head of EPA has actual experience with environmental issues, and worked "in the trenches" at EPA before going on to the executive level.
-
So how do you like this drama in Illinois with the Blago's nominee. Now that it is disclosed that Reid did not want Blago to nominate any African American candidates for a fear that they were not strong enough to win in the coming general election.
And now Democrats are planing a human chain next week to prevent Burris from entering Senate. I would love to see pictures of that. And Burris said he will sue the Senate if it happens.
And Illinois African American community is understandably up in arms. Who needs soap opera when you have this. The prime time TV can start a new reality show here and save a lot of money. And the best thing they can't even blame Republicans for this.
Or wait Amy on the other thread did say that it was Republicans fault. I am surprised they did not blame it on Carl Rove devious machinations.
-
I'll have to keep my C-SPAN on. I don't want to miss a minute of democrats barring doors. And it keeps getting better and better. Richardson has to pull out. Those pesky grand jury investigations hits again:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090105/ap_on_el_pr/richardson
One gets what one deserves. Hillary is probably having a good chuckle.
-
I can't imagine US senators physically blocking the way. I remember I saw a few times on TV when there was a fight in Taiwanese parlament. They actually were hitting each other. I don't think we get to this here, but if it were to happen, I would enjoy the spectacle.
-
ijl, may I ask why you post on that other thread over <------------------------------. One poster says the US sucks. Well, move to Zimbabwe then. Why would you want to respond to such crap. She must not know that the UN said nothing about Hamas stopping their rockets from falling in Israel..only wanted Israel to stop. Is that fair? President Obama said he would do anything he could if a rocket came flying down on his children.
I am really scared for our country. I'm scared the hateful people who think our country SUCKS will be taking over. God help us! We'll no longer celebrate Christmas cuz it's a religious holiday, we'll no longer have "God" on our money or in our Pledge. They'll probably start taxing the churches and Synagogues.
The LIBERALS are really scaring me.
I've ALWAYS loved this picture? Anybody remember 9/11? Anybody remember how united we as Americans were? Anybody remember that we have been safe from more attacks? Edited to add...oh, that bad PATRIOT ACT! I've had so many calls listened to by the feds and have been arrested so many times! Give me a freaking break. We're supposed to worry MORE about our sexual orientation than the safety of our country! I'm sorry, but that's not a priority that I feel (speaking for myself) is eminent. We are in a crisis in this country that is not ONLY President Bush's doings. We have a few dems to blame....Pelosi, Dodd and Barney. Oh, how I can't stand Pelosi, Dodd or Barney!
There will be no talk of drilling with this new administration. Even though the majority of this population wants it. And, we may be facing a new gas tax. That's not good for this enonomy. Mother's driving to work..running their kids around, truckers hauling food and goods...I don't have to name all of the industries or individuals that it will hurt.
You know what....I sure hope Jeb Bush runs for prezs in 2012!
-
Anybody heard of the bad green gas foods? The environmentalist won't be happy til we're all dead from not eating!

HEHEHEHEHEHE!
Edited to add:
-
Shirley,
I am currently pro-Obama , so I guess it qualifies me as a poster there. Or perhaps I am a masochist and enjoy all the abuse I get there
But I am curious to see whether the Democrats can handle all the stuff that is going on in their party.
