That's what I'm thinking. I remember another forum that had a thread with many, many pages and it was very sluggish.
Thanks. I was hoping it wasn't my puter.

Now what do I do, I am asking the same questions as Chris Mathews, I must be going downhill on my arguments.
-
Great post, Badboob. Palins interview with what's-his-name (Charles Gibson) was also HIGHLY edited. I read some of it and key points were edited.
But, ya know the media..Obama just received four more endorsements from media outlets. Good for him. They deserve each other.
Shirley

IBC..LOL. Who would have ever thought Matthews would have been that tough. Remember, he gets some kind of thrill up his leg when Obama gives his speeches. Geez, our next president may be able to make a purtty speech. Very good experience indeed.
-
Ok Ms Shirley, last thing if you would, go back one page, five hours ago read my health plan, then give your ideal solution to health care problem

No, I don't think you do. You are free to believe whatever you want to believe. I'm sorry but I am not "mesmerized" by Obama. If Hillary had been the candidate, I would have voted for her.
I somehow have missed a couple of posts on this page.
Grace, if my memory serves me correctly and if I could find our first political thread I remember you and Amy were fully in the tank for Obama. If anyone else remembers this, please come to my rescue. I don't want to thought of as a liar.
Of course you may have changed your mind and decided to look more thoroughly at both candidates. However, that's pretty difficult for me to believe, but if you say so.
Grace, I don't remember asking you which books to read.
I didn't accuse YOU of posting anything about the Flint porn movie about Palin.
bygrace1 wrote:
I know what my truth is. I have nothing to feel guilty about.
I don't recall anyone saying you should feel guilty about anything. I wonder if I could "cross reference" what you say here and what you say over <------------------?
Sorry I ruffled your feathers.

I just now saw your health care plan. I also found another post that needed to be answered. Look above.
Heck, IBC, I don't know what to do about health care. I remember a long time ago that we had to meet a deductible, pay 10% then it went up to 20%. Back then insurance didn't cover our pharmaceuticals. But, back then I didn't use our insurance much and didn't take many meds.
I'll have to think this over.
Shirley

Oops, my post to another person I mentioned isn't "above," it's on the next page. I think I'm getting a little tired.
Shirley
-
Shoot, you dems keep me so busy over here that I don't have the time to peek at your thread.
Shirley

LuAnnH,
I just went to other thread. I guess I am confused about many things they tell you. They say we do not post there because we will not document facts. We do, at anytime we will rip and post not just opinions, but the candidates in there on words. The reason most of us do not post there is because anytime you say something not glowing of the ONE, your are jumped on and told to get off there thread. Please go back and read through past post.
As for ByGrace to you 'don't have anything against anyone on that thread. I do believe that we are entitled to our own opinions. However, it seems they don't post over here, because when we asked them to document what they were attacking us about, they got "mad" and started their own thread. I've only posted over there a couple of times.'
Please check the creation dates on this thread and theirs...Little lies, big lies, don't be fooled.
-
IBC, thank you for calling them out. I just went over there and was truly disappointed. Shall we gather all of our documents and post them. They can delete them if they wanna. Nah, too much trouble for absolutely nothing.
Shirley

This is not nice, but since other's <--------------------------- can post not so nice things I'm posting this. I received this from my brother.
Barack Obama was seated next to a little girl on an airplane. He turned to her and said, 'Let's talk. I've heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.' The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to Obama, 'What would you like to talk about?' 'Oh, I don't know,' said Obama. 'How about What Changes I Should Make To America ?' and he smiles. 'OK, ' she said. 'That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass. And yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?' Obama, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, 'Hmmm, I have no idea.'
To which the little girl replies, 'Do you really feel qualified to change America when you don't know crap (I changed that word to a more acceptable one).Shirley

Are y'all up all night (like moi) or up very early?
This is trivia, but in the past, there was always a "Florida White House" (Kennedy in Palm Beach and Truman in Key West) or a "California White House" (Nixon & Reagan), "Kennebunkport White House" for Bush 41, "Hyannisport White House" also for Kennedy, and so on. These places, such as the Crawford Ranch (fully "green" from what I've read) are fully equipped as mini-command centers and Presidents are in constant touch with DC. In August, almost everyone leaves Washington, including Congress. Mr. Bush has been a very hard-working president .
I am not implying anything here nor defending this administration~~~which is at an end, despite leaving a host of problems for the next President. God, or whomever his higher power is, bless him; he's gonna need it!!!

I've been watching a documentary movie called No End In Sight. It's about the Iraq war. It's an eye opener. The country fell into complete chaos with everyone forming and joining their own militias. After watching that, let me tell you, the surge worked. We couldn't have left there even if we wanted to, it was a complete and utter mess. Death on every corner. No one was safe. Had we left like Obama had called for, al Qaeda and every other low life group would taken the place over. What nearby country would have been safe from such evil in control? The country turned on each other, kidnapping children, car bombs on every corner. I'm sure it's not a walk in the park there now, but what it was, was nothing short of awful. The surge worked.
It's one thing to call for a withdrawal when the person who is calling for it was never there, never saw the place. It's quite the other to get a first hand look before talking, as McCain did. What was going on went beyond a civil war. Total chaos doesn't quite do it justice either. We couldn't have left them in that chaos, so when Obama was calling for a withdrawal, and he was never there at the time, it would have been completely wrong to leave that country the way it was.

I am like you shirley and have to stop reading to address only one thing. Your article is about the marines. Did you know the job of the marines is first in first out? They have been pulling out all along for the last year. There are near as many marines there. for every marine they pull they normall put in a member of the US Army because in the eyes of the jobs in the military that is who should be there now.
The marines do the initial push in and try to get some security in the town then they leave the rest of the work to the Army. So all the peace maintaining and rebuilding of their city is left to the Army. So sure they can post good news that the marines pulled out, nice little chunck to throw the press so that they think we are leaving iraq. Makes the republicans look good in a time of so much turmoil in our gov't but in all actuality we are still there, just a different dept of the military is there to oversee and keep the peace.
I'm seriously trying to tell you things are not as peachy as they want you to believe about iraq. I know things that will turn your thinking around.
Does the press tell us that the Iraq people do not want us there? They are complaining they at least had running water and some modern conviences under Sadam that they till do not have. In the early stages of this battle al queada blew up key roads and bridges thinking it would keep the US and NATO forces out. How silly is this, we build our own bridges go in and pull out our bridge when we are done. They sabotaged their ability to keep things like running water working. Those cities I mentioned have no modern conveniences are are no where close to getting them. The your iraqi boys drop their pants and shake their private parts at americians as a sign of disrespect. These are not things that are shown in the news.
The Army's role is to flush out al queada and leave everyone else aloone yet they are treated so terribly over there. So not to be rude but please don't quote the media sources on the war unless you know them to be 100% true. This is all the gov't is allowing us to see.
-
IBC, if you were over there reading then I know you saw me posting to talk with your all and not slam. Some people are fanatical and will always go overboard I could say the same here. I have how many of you ganging up on one of me but thats ok because I am enjoying the exchange except last night when you were a bit rude to me. Making some comment to Shirley saying to ignore these posts or something like that. I could go back and cut and paste but I would lose my typing already. Shirley and I are friendly and actually been PMing throughout all this. She knows I am not trying to be mean spirited to her and she thinks she will change my mind. So please don't talk about unwelcome and rude when you just did that to me last night.

Rosemary, Obama was not on committees that dealt with the middle east yet he did go through and tour those areas on his campaign. I do not believe he will jump in and just pull our troops out by putting them in danger. But some change has to happen or this is going to be a never ending babysitting service.
The movie you watched was based on what the reporters see and can talk about. My son lives there daily. I see the pictures I cry tears worried for him. He cannot even go to the bathroom without fear of a sniper trying to kill him.
He is in such an area that the war is still very much going on contrary to what people say. I see it and hear it in his voice. As a parent you want to protect your children but I can't. He voluntarily chose to defend our country and I am very proud of him for doing that it is just a shame things are white washed for the media.
-
Man Diane you put me in a tough place. I could coment on alot of things to your posts but I can't because of my friendship with you. for one I know you are going through a rough time, it shows in your lack of posts on the board and I worry about you. I know your situation and you being a stay at home mom is admirable, we need more to do that and for that you get dumped on. It is all wrong and I am sorry but I guess you can blast away at my thinking or beliefs in the political system and I just can't respond to you.
Mainly out of respect for our friendship and I know how tough tx has been for you lately. You know I wish you only the best and would do anything worldly possible to help you and make things happen for you. I don't think getting worked up over this elecetion willhelp you or your situation much good. Problem is no one wants to help us Diane. How many times in the last few months have I made posts about that. I want to help and I want to make a difference anway I can. So to you my friend I say, blast away and vent away. I will read but not respond out of respect for you. Take care and I miss seeing your happy face here daily! You have been dearly missed!
-
LuAnn,
I know you want to believe so badly in your choice. Not a problem. Watch the movie then we'll talk about who was right and who was wrong about the war. Thank God McCain was over there many times and saw exactly what was going on and called for the surge.
Every Senator has a vote and should have been over there before speaking about it and voting on it. Every representative and Senator should have went there and then talked about it. It's no wonder Obama kept saying the surge didn't work, he never saw it before the surge.
No, I could never in a million years think Obama will be capable of running 2 wars. Never. He didn't even give our guys and gals the credit for the new Iraq. That was shameful in its own right. If you don't believe it's a new Iraq since the surge then watch the movie. I'll pray for your son to stay safe.

I was reading a CNN story about polling. One polling company polls 38% democrats to 26% republicans. We might be in for a nice surprise Nov. 4th. That's not the only polling company doing that. One company has Florida up 2% for McCain.
I heard last night the Obama's have their menu chosen for their celebration party on Nov. 4th. Caviar, lobster, champagne, of course. Hey, even if they lose, at least they'll eat well.
Here's a Fox story on the subject:

Rosemary, how do you know personally that the surge worked? You are relying on news sources. I am seeing what is going on through the eyes of servicemembers that are there. I sit weeks on end when my son is in radio/phone blackouts because of the battles they are engaged in. So don't believe everything you see on tv. I do believe the photos I've seen from my son and some of his platoons cameras. As well as things they are telling me with photos to support it. Just so you know my son is a McCain supporter so you can't say he is blinded by Obama and is telling me this on purpose.

I am ebarressed to say I was raised in this town. But here is a crowd entering a Palin speech in Western PA. Maybe you will understand how nasty that part of the state can by and why that article that someone posted about western pa is not just a way to get votes.

LuAnn, the thing we didn't see was what other people who were apparently Obama supporters were saying to the McCain supporters. Talk about one sided reporting Personally, I would never say the things they were saying. However, I have heard, seen, horrible things about Bush.
Isn't it wonderful that we can live in a free, democratic, capitalistic (may not be much loner) country where we have free speech.
I don't think any of us are naive enough to think every area in Iraq is nonviolent. And, why are the Marines pulling down their bases in Fallujah if the Army will come in and take over. Did you see the video. They were hauling of bobbed wire...no more bobbed wire fences. And I realize that videos do not always tell the truth.
So, you thought is we should have picked up and pulled out at least a year ago? If you don't understand what Rosemary is trying to tell you then there's no convincing you.
I think the generals on the ground have the best of our troops. I think we should get our advice FROM the generals..not Obama. Rumor has it that Obama didn't want any decisions made about this war until after the election and he is betting on winning.
I can't make you see my way. You can't make me see your way.
We live near a Marine base, Camp Lejune in Jacksonville, N.C. It's maybe an hour away. I would love to have access to what Marines there are saying.
Can you tell me why your son supports McCain?
As far as Diane (Badboob) is concerned. coming here venting may be extremely good for her. I don't believe we should be sharing with this community the rough times Diane is going through.
I found this post on Fox in a forum from the link Rosemary just provided. Thought it was interesting. It says a lot.
I lost everything to a car wreck and spinal cord injury in 2000. I had the best car insurance, health insurance thru employer, and a great retirement package for my age. I made a 6 digit salary and huge bonuses. It's all gone now. I lost my home of 21 years. I now live in an a handicapped apt on limited Soc Sec. disability income (1138.00 a month. Talk about reality setting in, well it had. I have nothing much, but I am alive. I still don't want welfare, and I won't vote for Obama. I feel guilty every day that I can't go to a job, and do what I was once capable of. THose who got off welfare are doing much better. Why would anyone want to give away their hard earned $ to Gov. Let them pick and choose who to give it to, their family, and special charities. Don't take more of our choices away. Wake up America, and Fight for your rights to indivuality. AND NO these polls are a bunch of bologny. Unless there's a hugh deficit, no one really knows until the election, so don't give in McCain supporters he can do this, just like it's happened so many times!
My hope for this person is that he/she has family members who can help him/her. Instead of the government taking our money (well not mine...we don't make $250,000 HAHAHA) they could give this person some help instead of the government. Look how we're screwed by the government. Social Security is about gone because of their foolish borrowing (stealing) from us. Is that the same as "embezzlement?"

WHOOOO-HOOOOO! Love the video above. Bill Ayers speaking engagement called off! Even Geraldine Ferraro said Ayers should be fired from Columbia University.
Check out voter fraud video too. Even if NONE of the fraudulous "registratees" don't vote, it's still wrong, WRONG for these groups who say they are ONLY trying to get people (minorities..low income) registered. Oh, Mickey Mouse is not a minority or po' folk. It is a scandal and I don't care if McCain did speak at their whatever.

what is the rumblings I was hearing last night that the repub were involved in ACORN also? I apologize to Diane if I offended her I just am not going to get into a debate with her about this right at this time.
Shirley I will PM you about my son supporting McCain, it is nothing i am proud of nor will I post on the board.
The reason the marines were pulling out their stuff is because it belongs to their unit. We waste so much money on this war because each unit brings its own equipment and returns it when they return to the US. My son drives tank and is in the armored cav unit. They moved all their tanks, tents, ammunition, etc with them. When they get ready to come home they will take all that heavy equip back with them. In fact the new units forward guys are showing up and bringing in all their equipment and getting it into use while my sons unit is cleaning up their stuff to pack it up to go back to the US. Now please tell me that is an awful waste of money. It has to costs fortunes in fuel to get this big equipment moved across the country numerous times.
-
Geez, I didn't know they did all of that.
I was traveling via a buddy pass. So, of course I was bumped before payers. There were several marines who were leaving from the same airport I was. The fellow at the desk told me there were seats available, but that with all their belongings there was too much weight on the plane to add anyone else. Yep, that takes a lot of fuel.
Take care

lol Shirley, my husband made dinner last night too. Homemade pizzas (or zas as he calls it). He is an excellent cook and we all look foward to Friday night pizza night. He will make pizza to order, that is whomever is here gets to pick their favourite pizza and he will make individual pizzas for all.
