Wishes for Slonedeb

slonedeb. I have a big day, singing my way thru a school of young children with special needs. I go there once a month and have 11 classes of children -- starting @ 18 month olds. It was exhausting 13 years ago, when I was younger..... but the kiddos always fill my heart with hope,
hope for what can be overcome, hope for what can be survived, hope for what we can teach each other
anyhow, i don't think i'll get my computer turned on before I go.......... I'll see you at the end of the day, tho.
in the meantime lots of prayers for you and for your family.

Music, such a joy. Can't we just imagine Faithandfifty singing, Deb? Strength to her today as she once again shows her mettle in giving in life.Lots of good wishes to you today too, Deb, as the sun pops out again, and the rain becomes more distant. Happy though the East got enough to replenish from a drought (don't know about NC). I hope you get a rest from doctors appointments this week; just the ride in must be pretty tiring. Will sing a prayer for you this morning myself, Deb. Your always on my front burner.Best to you,Tender

Slonedeb and all of our Slone-Rangers,
Home safe and sound from my big day. The start of a new school year. This is the center that was my first full-time teaching job -- back in 1979!!! I worked there before having children and then later after they were in school.
Now I go once-a-month as a consultant. Even tho it's 'hard' work, I love going, because some of my oldest friends are still there on the staff.
Today went really well for a first visit. Some of the children are only 18 months old. It's very humbling to see these little teeny ones..... some in wheel chairs, others w/walkers, some that have to wear helmets to protect their heads....... I never quite know what to expect, till I get there.
They are SOOOO responsive to music. If I could make a video of us doing the hokey-pokey there wouldn't be a dry eye in the house.
Slonedeb, when I think of you and the hard times -- when you're pressed to the wall -- I then think of these little tykes and all that they face for a lifetime ahead..... it's very inspiring to me to get to watch them grow up, with the help of all of the various therapists who work so hard.
I'm pooped. So I'm gonna put my feet up for a while.
Take care, sweet sister.

My Dear Friend, I thought how lucky I am as I wrap my body from lymphedema and know that each day is a gift from our Lord. I wish you peace as you travel that long road. But remember we are always with you. Many angel hugs, Debbie
-
Faith, how fortunate for those special children to have your bright light in their days!
Deb, your cold weather has moved east! I hope you keep warm enough till that propane arrives, so I'm tiptoeing in with my great-grandmother's quilt to give you an extra layer......
Good friends are like quilts, they never lose their warmth.
Blessings on SloneDeb and all the Slone Rangers...........
-
Slonedeb, I'm up and "at 'em" for the day..... hard to describe, but I think all of this praying for each other must be rubbing off on me.
I feel very connected to this day -- for some unexplainable reason. For the first time in ages, I am excited about making a to-do list and clicking things off.
I'm sending you a couple of things to do:
- focus on how orange a pumpkin really is
look at a tree and see if you can 'catch it' changing colors
many hugs for a peaceful, remembering sort of day...... count your blessings as you listen to your favorite recordings.

Love Faith's suggestions on concentrating on fall colors and intensity, Deb. So how are you today? If it's a home day for you, you might ride along the highs and lows of the market and the Senate who may vote on the bailout bill today. Nothing short of history in the making here.I'm off to try to register some more votes, take care of my sick daughter, and usual home stuff. I will think of you as usual, Deb, sending support and prayers your way.Tender
-
Wishing you a restful evening, Deb. Prayers being sent your way for strength and comfort.Tender

Rest and deep peace, slonedeb. On the eve of our month arriving in the morning.
I have so very much to learn. My happy bubble from earlier today has popped. Must go attempt to fabricate a new one.
love to you and yours slone-rangers

A little prayer for SloneDeb:
Lord, send to us an Autumn Angel
With sunflower bundles burnished bright
That we may hearken to the changing
Of your welcome autumn light.
An angel Lord to ripe the pumpkins
There on the vine winding away,
One to paint your trees in splendor
In the dwindling light of day.
And may she speak a word of wisdom
To all who have the heart to hear
For it's the heart that does the listening
When the fall is drawing near. -
Good morning, dear Slonedeb. Good morning, friend.
I just went walking with my neighbor friend and I'm still outta breath. She's younger than I and in so much better shape & even tho she's recooperating from bronchittis, could walk to the moon and back.....
but I was so grateful for her prompt, grateful for the hugs to start the day, grateful for the fresh air, grateful to get caught up on each other's stories.............
it's amazing how we are provided for -- in our times of need.
sending you hugs for the day, dear sister & friend............

Slonedeb. I'm packing up my car for one of my big road-trips. I'll leave tomorrow for Maryland to visit my daughter for a long weekend. I just want you to know that I'm not sure how much access I'll have to the web and what all we will be doing........
Know that I keep you in my heart, whenever I take to the road..... it seems that there are always lots of others who take the time to pop-in here, when I'm else where & I know how much you appreciate that.
Hope that you're able to feel rested after receiving the gift of some deep sleep.

Dear Slonedeb,
I am hearing good things regarding your son. I hope he keeps working on staying off the drugs. I came home from surgery on 5/30/08 and have not smoked a cigarette since. Believe me it is very hard and I know how he is some what feeling. You are a wonderful parent in your support of his rehabilitation.
I have high respect for you and what you are going through. Your courage is very uplifting. Have a nice evening and eat well and get plenty of rest. I also live in the east and need an extra blanket at night. Not because I am having a propane tank put in, but because my dh will not turn the heat on or add a blanket to the bed. I love him any way and still keep warm. He is such a character.
Keeping you in my thougts and prayers, sending you (((((HUGS))))).
Goodnight, Cheryl

Deb - I'm thinking of you and sending prayers your way. Is there another onc in this practise who will talk to you? If she is out of town then what other doctor is covering her patients? Hugs Joann
-
slonedeb. i just wanted you to know that i've arrived safely in Maryland.... just outside of Washington DC. I've just read your post and hear the concern & confusion in your heart. Joann has offered a good suggestion, if it's possible -- to consult with someone else in the office.
i'm so grateful to read that your son is staying on the path of the straight & narrow. we will all continue to pray for his strength to learn new skills and restraint. this is certainly an answer to your most fervant prayers. hallelujah.
i'm pretty worn out -- so i'll just send extra hugs..........
xx00xx00xx00xx00xx
we will stand watch with you until you are able to get answers to your many questions..... and legitimate questions they are. hang in there, sister.
-
Wishing you comfort and love, Hoping you rest well and know that you are a very special person. Sending you alot of angel hugs Debbie
-
Dear SloneDeb:
I am so sorry for your pain and the uncertainty. Get someone in your family to work the phones today and get you some answers. It is unconscionable that your oncologist has left without explaining her reasoning to you. I will pray that you get information today~~~and that you can get some rest. All the Slone Rangers would bear some of it for you if we could.
You~~~and your son~~~ are in my prayers every night.
-
Very sorry to read the essence of your post, Deb, with your oncologist's office dropping the ball like they have. No oncologist should ride out of town leaving a patient expecting chemotherapy in the lurch. Others have urged your family weigh in and that sounds so very right.Hate to hear your legs are paining you so, just adding to your upset in general. I will keep you close in prayer that you receive relief from above, and answers which you seek from your doctor. So uplifting to hear your son is fulfilling his mom's wishes.Prayers said for you and yours.Tender

Slonedeb. We've just returned from an adventure-by-boat out to a lighthouse in the middle of Chesapeake Bay!! It was windy and the water was rolling. Oh-my-goodness, how we bounced around the waves, in a little boat. So much fun. Made me feel like a teen-ager all over again.
Continuous prayers for this stage of wondering, waiting and all of the other feelings involved.
More prayers for your son's progress.

Slonedeb and all of the wonderful group of Slone-Rangers..........
The sun is shining here on the sands of Maryland. It's time to go out into the big world & enjoy another day's adventure.
I journey forth with our Queen-of-Kentucky at the top of my prayer list. Asking for patience and wisdom in the face of all that is unknown. Asking for continued strength for slonedeb's son -- as he works to rebuild a brand-new life. Asking that we are able to continue to offer support to our dear sister -- from around the country, around the globe, joining together to hold her up.
