slonedeb. we continue to be safe and sound, but our home has no power -- nor does much of the city. schools cancelled everywhere. we had a huge sycamore tree in our front yard that snapped in half..... fortunately falling away from our house.

goodness gracious. we live in central OH and this was all 'left over' from the hurricane on the gulf coast. i hope that you are OK and that the winds some how missed you in KY.

sending you prayers to start the week!!

Working hard on our next election, Deb. Who wins may well influence federal funding and tone for breast cancer.

As always, you remain at the forefront of my thoughts. Prayers and hugs for you.

    Dear Slonedeb,

I have not checked in for awhile and neede to see how you are doing.  I have read back a few pages but not all, I will try and catch up soon.  It is getting late and I need to go to bed, since I am back to work.

slonedeb, we are still without electricity at my house.

I came to my husband's office to use the laptop and get ready for the day..........

know that i'm thinking of you, sending you my best, praying for your strength in the midst of all that you are facing.

they are predicting several MORE days without power, so if I don't get back as regularly as usual, please know i'm sending old fashioned prayers -- till we get connected to the world, again.

Just back from the local dem election center, what a hub of activity.

Hoping to find a note from you, but we all understand you're busy with treatments, and probably very fatigued. Please know I and others continue to think daily of you, hoping you find some peace with music, a message and family. Praying for you Deb.

Faith, so sorry to read you're still without electricity. Yes, Ike's destructive path was intense where in went inward. May your needs be meet soon.

Kbugsman, wishing you well too, knowing you continue on active chemotherapy. Hope you can kiss those grandchildren again soon.

All be well, and let's gear up for October, which has swung around faster than I ever remember.

Tender: looking with my sisters for a breast cancer cure.

Slonedeb, I don't know you, but I feel as if I do.  I have read so many of your kind posts to others and your unselfish spirit resonates so loudly here.  I, too, will add you to my prayer list tonight.  I think I may have an in with the big guy, there is an angel on my bathroom wall.  It is the strangest thing, it appeared after I removed the towel bar.  It is very clearly an angel holding a baby.  So, I think I have some connections and will put you on the top of my list tonight.  Love, Maryiz

    A gentle touch

Of that one girl and life is

sweet, sweet, sweet, Kentucky woman.............. (following the verse above, great idea Pansy)

slonedeb: we're all here joined together in your song. know how much we care and how eager we are to raise our voices in prayer on your behalf.

i feel so fortunate to be getting to know you more and more -- even in the midst of your trials, or perhaps BECAUSE of your trials.

now that we have power again, i've got some serious cleaning up to do from our big summer trip.

i'll be thinking about you as i go about these chores, of putting things back into place.

slonedeb: you've been away for a bit now......... i'm hoping that you're filling your days with pleasant music that inspires you, with gentle sounds and nutritious delights.

know that i start every day thinking of you.

Dear Creator, my heart is heavy with concern, as you know. We haven't heard from our dear slonedeb for a while. She is such a treasure to us here, an example, a hero. She has fought this disease to the best of her capability and we are proud of her for that fight.

I ask that you wrap her in your merciful care today. Surround her with angels. Encourage her in the midst of this reality -- with all of it's uncomfortable side effects and harrowing developments. Give Deb a measure of your heavenly insight, to realize what a vision of strength she is to so many. I ask that you work your miracles in her life -- within her family, bringing resolution and peace where ever there is discord, fear or anxiety..... wash away any unbelief from the hearts of those in her closest circle.

May these days be a celebration for our Kentucky Queen. May there be wonderful stories being told, incredible memories being shared. Laughter and music to heal any rough edges. We trust in your goodness and mercy to bring your grace in abundance into slonedeb's story..... in this chapter of her life -- as it's been through out her life.

Hold us up as we hold up our friends and sisters.

Hello our dear Deb. I had chemo this week and I feel yuck. I get a bad headache at times when I get tx. Of course still have this annoying cough. I have been bothered with the cough more while on avastin and gemzar. I get a scan on Monday and see dr on Wed. I have layed around pretty much past three days. My good friends hubby passed on Wed from lung cancer and his memorial service is tomorrow afternoon so I must feel better. Are you able to eat and drink better now Deb? I haven't wanted anything everything tastes yuck. But we are fighters so we must continue to look up.... Hugs and love to you Deb and all our sisters...

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve your sick servant Deb, and give your power of healing to those who minister to her needs, that she may be strengthened in her weakness and have confidence in your loving care; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Deb, while putting in time at my candidates election HQ, I very often think of you during the day. Our NIH/NCI federal funds have not kept pace with prior year increments these last years, and to do research/clinical trials money is needed as well as new concepts. So, I'm trying to do my part in helping to work for a candidate and congress who will push cancer research way beyond where it has been for years.

Please excuse my absence from the board due to this flurry of attention. I see that kbugmom wrote a note too, and read through yours, and hope both of you hear our daily prayers for your continued strength through difficult days.

Remaining in the circle, Deb and kbugmom, of all the women encircing and joining hands to pray for you both and all others.

    ((Hugs))

Slonedeb. Today on my way home from church I saw an albino squrirrel -- dancing and prancing up and down a tree. It made me realize that even tho his appearance is a deviation from God's plan, he still frolics thru the changing leaves.

I truly believe that the suffering that you are undergoing is outside of God's plan for his dear children. I believe in a creator who gives us sunsets of many colors and the quick flit of the hummingbird. I believe he wants health for us, too.

Yet, here we are in the midst of suffering, without explaination. The fact that you can 'frolic' like my little albino squirrel friend shows just what a servant you are -- demonstrating in your walk how much you know about love.

KBug, of course I pray for you, too. Tender you are inspiring in your dedication to the political process. Pansy, I treasure your words.

We learn from each other. May our actions speak to others and our choices reflect our faith.

slonedeb: today marks the beginning of fall for me, in earnest! i start my visits to schools today. to make the day even more 'bursting-at-the-seams' fun, i have the recording studio reserved for later in the day -- to begin my next recording project.

i'll be thinking about you as i skip thru the classrooms, guitar on one hip and silliness in my trunk

hugs and encouragement for whatever today brings..........

How are you doing today, Deb?

Glorious first day of fall here. Soon the leaves will be turning reds and yellows. Don't you just love to see the change. Apples should be coming your way from up north, and I'm hoping someone will bring you an apple pie. Nothing like Mom, Country and Apple Pie, right?

Hoping this note finds you free from active pain, and comforted by Sunday's prayers. I often imagine myself next to you, saying a quiet prayer for you Deb. I know you derive strength from good thoughts said in certainty and with hope, as do I.

You're on the forefront of my heart's burner, Deb.

    Gentle ((hug)) to you,
    Tender

Slonedeb.... I've made it home after a very big day. Pooped out from all of the fun of work, or is it work of fun? Either way, it's been a good day.

Sending you hugs, prayers and as many blessings as I can. It's already getting dark, so I guess the seasons really are changing.

I think Tender's idea for an apple pie sounds delicious.

Adding to the hopes that your pain is under control.
