    Dear Kentucky Lady;

Please imagine that all your family, both real and cyber, are gathered around your bed. One may be reading your favorite poem, another may be rubbing your legs, another may be holding your hand, another putting cool cloths on your forehead. Someone may be baking a lemon chess pie in the kitchen while your DH brings in ripe tomatoes from your garden. Some of us are in the front room looking at pictures of you when you were a little girl; others of us are sweeping off the porch and thinking about churning up some ice cream from the last of the peaches.

When you are ready to rest a bit, we will all join hands and say a prayer:

Loving Father, hear our cries for relief, as well as the relief of those we love, from agony, burdens, and suffering. By the power of the Holy Spirit, answer in amazing and miraculous ways, so that we may not only be relieved, but in such a way that you may be glorified. In the wonderful Name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

    Amen.

slonedeb, I sit here crying as I read thru the posts of these sisters above. you've really gathered a special group of angels round to keep you going. what amazing tributes to an amazing individual.

I know that I have so much to learn about suffering and pain and the reason and role they play in our lives. It makes no sense that our loving Father would allow such sorrow. I can't imagine that was in His original plan for us.

All I do know for certain, is that as I realize how very hard your days are right now -- it makes me want to do 'something.' Yell, scream, cry, write, think, quilt, walk, advocate........... it is totally and completely unfair -- an absolute injustice.

We are here for you today, slonedeb, our Kentucky queen, our prayer warrior, our royal wonder.

I'm going to repeat Pansy's words above, as they are so touching & eloquent:

Loving Father, hear our cries for relief, as well as the relief of those we love, from agony, burdens, and suffering. By the power of the Holy Spirit, answer in amazing and miraculous ways, so that we may not only be relieved, but in such a way that you may be glorified. In the wonderful Name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

    and one more Amen.

Prayers for some relief in your pain and discomfort, Deb. Pansy's post is so true. We're all there with you in spirit and form, one way or the other.

Please give strength to our dear Deb, so she feels not alone but rather surrounded by soft voices of caring from us.

Amen to the above prayers. I continue to think of you and pray for you throughout the day and night. Last night I woke up at 4:30 and you were on my mind. I pray for relief from pain for you, for strength for your day and night, for your caregivers, and that you children would, in this lifetime know truth and be set free.

Deb, stay strong in your faith. We live in a fallen world and we have very limited understanding. All I know is that heaven will make up for whatever pain we had here. This life is just a dot on the everlasting line of eternity. At the moment when on this side, we are gone, there are others watching our coming on the other side. At that same moment they shout, "Here she comes!" If you arrive there before those of us here, we will know that you will be there looking for us.

I like the Kentucky queen name. Bless you my sister. (((HUGS)))

Not a day goes by when I don't think of you Deb, as well as our many other sisters and brothers with breast cancer. Busier now, with Fall here and back to school, yet often you come to mind and a silent moment of prayer is taken and given.

When down from illness the greatest labor is often how to continue to live without desperation
enveloping. At least, that's how I see it. Faith's idea of thinking of quieter times, less heavy thoughts is helpful. I read joanne1428's posts often as her words seem like a beacon of light through the fog of day.

May your friends and family rally around, with courage and grace and prayers being said for them also. I hope you and all who suffer may sustain yourself some with our care, even if given over the somewhat impersonal, but oh so useful and enjoining, world wide web.

    Blessings, Deb and all.

    Dear Princess Deb:

I just tiptoed into your room and left some dahlias cut from your garden. The quilt tucked under your chin is so pretty; did you piece it yourself? I'm sure I heard you softly saying "Vroom-vroom!"

    Sweet dreams, mountain girl.

I am sending up this prayer in your name, Princess Deb.

    Dear Father,

I have been battling a fearful disease for so long. I am afraid. I am lonely. Questions seem to crowd my mind: Will I be cured? How long will I live? How will my family handle this? I ask with all my heart that I be healed. But, if my healing is not in Your great plan, I trust You to be with me through it all. I trust You to give me peace, to let me live with hope, to relieve any pain, and to let me know Your presence. I trust You to bring my loved ones close to me during this illness, that we might support each other, and that Your great hands might support us all. I pray that from now on, whether sick or well, I will live each day as if it were eternal, and trust my eternity to You.
    In Jesus' name, Amen.

slonedeb, I strapped on my walking shoes and put on my pink hat with the single word: CURE embroidered on the front and I walked and prayed for you (and all others here) as I went up and down these massive hills around our place.

I'm quite sure the angels heard me directly, as I was breathing so hard (laughing at myself, but true.) I walked for you and all of our other sisters who are unable to get out and walk.

sending you sweet greetings for today -- it's overcast here right now & we need the rain.

hugs and a nice hot cup of your favorite tea...........

courage and strength sister, courage and strength

I am glad to read your post, Deb, and to hear your doctor is trying to establish a different treatment plan.

Doxil is doxoruibicin (adriamycin) suspended in a fat bubble (a liposome) and then this duo is coated with a medical rubber (methoxypolyethylene glycol) which allows passage through the blood stream to the cancer cells without stirring up your immune system. It is a very effective process and adriamycin is a very effective chemotherapy.

Wonderful too to read faithandfifty's beautiful words and prayers of support. Please know I share her positive thoughts for you.

    Lots of rain coming,
    Tender

I'll be speaking with the Big Guy soon; hope He doesn't think we're pestering Him!

Oh, tender...... I knew you'd have info for slonedeb. You're brilliant and such a marvel in your abilibty to share the science with the hope.

Slonedeb, hearing what Tender knows, I'm so very encouraged to think that you may have this treatment -- it positively sounds promising, doesn't it? You have been such a trooper to undergo all of this medical maze -- in their efforts to learn about what does indeed help. I praise you for your willingness to allow them to learn. What a gift you give to the whole generation of women who will follow us. Be strong.

Now I'm going to cut myself a piece of Pansy's sweet potato pie and top off my plate with the fresh blueberries that I picked for you. They'll look pretty sitting on the plate together.

If you are able, drop us a line. We're all here thinking of you!

Pansy, let's just go ahead with the pestering...... the squeekie wheel get the grease!

Slonedeb, continue on with your reaching for wholeness. My very best to your dear husband who has seen you thru. He gains a special place in heaven for his support. What a blessing.
