Dearest Madison,
I am blown away! I was in hysterics this morning when your parcel arrived. I never knew about your proJect, and I couldn't understand why a parcel arrived from me from the Afghans women group. I opened it and wept. DH had a wet eye too.The heart faced me as I opened the parcel. Its beautiful. What an amazing gift and it came at the time I really needed it. I had scans today and I've had progression to liver and lungs.
I''ll be thinking of you all as I sit with your blankie of love wrapped around me, its winter here. I will always treasure what you special ladies have done. A Huge thank you.
Much love
River
-
River, we are so happy that your box of hugs arrived. Somehow, our hugs seem to arrive when the recipient most needs them. Madison is on her way to Pinkstock but I know she will see this soon.

Wrap yourself with the love from the afghan. You are in my thoughts.
-
River,
I'm glad the afghan reached you. It took little longer than I thought it would take to get there..........but it did make it to you......
Hugs and support,
Madison

This was sent to a local girl who was dx'd in January with bilateral bc and bone mets. She called today to say thank you to us. She's doing well. Thanks for everyone's help.
-
Liz, I love the way you alternated rows of solid blocks and variegated blocks, that works really well. I have a stack of squares here, I need to find a box. I am finishing up a baby afghan, just have 6 more inches or so left to go. Then I will get back on making squares and hats.
I bought some Red Heart Super Saver in "Monet" pastels, it is really pretty, I am going to get some more of that with my Michael's coupons this weekend.
-
Liz,
I agree with Donna, it looks great. Thanks for your hard work. Let me know if you need more squares.
Hugs, Jackie

You guys are great! We couldn't keep these up without all your help. This one should go out this week. The pics aren't very good. Sorry!

would like to contribute if i can , they only have to be 7X9 inch squares correct....color and pattern doesnt matter does it??? just let me know what i have to do.....thanx....does anyone have some easy patterns i pretty much can only sc and dc but i would love to help out
-
Susan,
The squares are 7x9....using washable yarn.
The following website has a good pattern for sc and dc
http://www.warmupamerica.com/join.html
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
-
ok Madison, Vickie, who needs bordered squares?.. lol.. I seem to have them all over my house, I think they are multiplying... I just sent some to Liz..
and I will take squares that need bordered...
hugs to all..

-
MB,
You can send some squares my way.
Vickie, how are you on bordered squares?
Hugs
-
zsch - i did the navy blue and white striped square ... i just do sc and dc ... i just mix them up
-
zsch - just get varigated (multi-colored) yarn and use your sc and dc to make the size square needed and you will be amazed at the patterns that develop as you make the block. The more advanced stitches will come with time.

jenni.... got your squares....Thanks bunches.
zsch..... I don't make fancy squares. Mine are usually single crochet. Make what you are comfortable with as each square is used.
Ladies, we're getting low on names. If you know of someone who needs a a hugaghan then please let myself of Madison know. We do need their "real" name and mailing address.
Let's keep this up girls. It's such a great project.
Hugs

I have an afghan made that I did not mail before I left for Lackland AFB.
My local CBS affiliate station is doing an interview with me Tuesday morning on the afghan project
I will bring the afghan I have completed to the station to show a completed project.
Also, I know the station manager and will ask if she has any info on Applegate's address. I will mail the afghan to Applegate if I can get an address. -

Madison,
Good luck on your interview!!That's awesome. I think it would be great to mail an afghan to Christine Applegate. That's so thoughtful. I have a bunch of squares..do you need them?
Also, maybe this is a dumb question because I've only been doing this afghan project since March, but what kind of card do you send with it and what does it say? I hope I don't sound stupid but it seems to really be very special and I'm just curious as to what it says.
Thanks again to all for letting me be part of this wonderful project. I know it helps others but I have to tell you all that it makes me feel really good!
Hugs to all, Jackie
-
Jackie,
The card gives the history of the project.
The card also states how unique each afgan is, made with love
It also states that we are gathered around the recipient, giving him/her love and support. -
That is beautiful. Thanks for letting me know.
Hugs, Jackie
-
How great is that, Madison?! Will it be televised? You're the perfect person to spread the word of this great project!!
