Each afghan pictured makes my heart soar, and seeing the joy it brings is even more exhilarating! iris you and bear looks so happy! I am so proud to be a part of this project.
Madison I have not heard from my friend yet whose Grandson is in Walter reed. the family lives in upstate NY and travel back and forth is surely time consuming. I am sure to hear from her soon.
I am also knitting some neat shawls I would like to send to someone who is sitting in cold AC while receiving treatment. They are small and light and easy to take along. They are cute because they are made from yarn stash which includes all sorts of textures and colors. Anyone looking for another fun way too use your stash, let me know and I will share this idea.
Madison I promise I have squares to send but they looked big so I washed and blocked them. One had a loose yarn tie in the work that somehow I do not remember?? My yarn lady said they can tie a ball of yarn 4 times for sale?? I need to sew this in now. But my squares are bordered and ready. Smiles and hugs to all. -
Fantastic pictures.
I did mail an afghan priority last week. I think the box is being shipped via regular mail instead of priority because the tracking shows it is still at the Post Office...........grrrr...I'm going to the Post Office Monday and try to find out what has happened to the package.
Anyway, thanks all.
I did get an steriod injection in my back Friday and am trying my best to be good and stay in bed this weekend. I do have another afghan ready to be put together and will start working on it next week.
Hugs, Madison

Madison, do follow instructions and stay down - you can't be suffering from a bad back at Pinkstock.
Oz and Iris - glad that you had a loving surprise to brighten your day. I got tears in my eyes when I saw who had mailed the package and immediately knew what it was. May it give you much warmth and comfort on down/difficult days.
I have kind of fallen behind in my squares as I have been spending so much of my time outside. I have picked it up again over the weekend so I should have a box of squares to mail soon, almost had one but not quite.

Iris, I don't know if I understand what you are saying. I hope it doesn't mean you won't be around with your bear pictures anymore. I always enjoy reading your posts. I remember some pretty cool chats you and I used to have. I hope you continue to check in once in awhile.

Hi all,
I have an afghan that is missing and will ask the Post Office to track my package
-
Hi Madison, Hope you find your package..YIKES
I spoke with my friend Ruth the Grand mother of Ryan, the soldier at Walter Reed. He received his Hugaghan and adores it. His mother Dawn will send a note to you soon I hope. She is a nurse and lives in Upstate New York. Her son Ryan is in DC at Walter Reed. She travels weekly to see him so I know time is a precious commodity. But the good news is Ryan has his hugs from us. -
Madison & Liz,
I mailed squares to each of you on Monday so you should be receiving packages very soon. Vickie, I will mail you some next week. Hope everyone is well.
Hugs, Jackie
Madison....yuck!!! I hope they find your package. That's terrible.

When I got home tonight there was a box waiting for me. When I opened it was I surprised when I saw a hugaghan! Hubby thought that was such a great gesture. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Here's me with my new favorite binky (sorry, habit
we've always referred to them as binkys with the kids).
-
Margo: Im so happy for you. Your smile is brilliant and the afghan looks perfect. I can see the hugs from so many, sending such love your way.

Hello ladies...and I bet you all thought I up and disappeared! I am honest and truly working on afghans but rather slowly. Its been terribly hot and my house got flooded so we have been living out of half the house and the camper. Not fun but doable. Waiting on contractors to come remove my flooring, walls etc and "rebuild" a third of my house...grrrr.
I have one afghan almost finished and hope to have it done tonight and another a little over halfway done that I will need an address for.
Madison and Liz...you are wonderful...thanks for all the hard work and keeping up as I have been super busy and a bit lax in my duties here!
Thanks to all you wonderful women who are crocheting your hearts out for this wonderful project.
Oh...one more thing...Nate has learned to sew squares together...but...not perfect. He has sewn a few together and I have made handles and will include them with the afghans if no one minds. They are rather cute and it keeps him busy!!! You would think baseball, fishing and the pool would be enough.
Love and hugs to all
Vickie
Margaret...what a beautiful afghan...you look radiant. Enjoy
-
I love my binky so thank you all again.
Vickie, good to see you. Haven't seen you in ages. -
Margaret,
I was thrilled to see that you received an afghan. May it bring warmth anytime but give you comfort to know that others care during the difficult times.

Dear all,
I returned home yesterday after spending a week with my mother, trying to forget that BC is now such a looming presence in my life. When I got home, my DH presented me with a large cardboard box -- a real mystery! My daughters are in France (both married to Frenchmen), and they occasionally send me CARE packages. But this box was not from them.
What did I find inside? The most beautiful afghan I've ever seen! I cannot believe it is actually for me. How can I explain how deeply affected I am? I don't think words are adequate. I KNOW words are not adequate. As soon as DH gets his camera in gear again, I'll have him take a photo of the afghan with me as I get my chemo. It is so cold in that room and I don't like to use the blankets that everyone else has used (I know; not nice of me), so this is such a welcome gift. In addition, it looks like the afghan my mother-in-law gave me years ago, and that I lost when my ex and I divorced. I loved that afghan -- it meant she accepted me into the family.
I don't do crafts. It's the only thing I'm unable to do -- I write, paint, cook. I can't sew, crochet, knit, or do anything else that requires extreme dexterity and skill of handicrafts. In what way can I contribute with the talents that I do have? A gift like this needs to be passed on to other women in some form or another.
Thank you again. I am so very, very grateful for all the hours of work and all the love and caring that went into MY afghan.
Love,
Annie Camel Breath

Annie/Heather, I'm sorry to hear you are still in chemo, it sure does whack out your system. I'm glad you'll be keeping warm -- and take a lot of naps!! (Knitting is cheaper than therapy and keeps me out of trouble.)
MB - that was fast delivery on the box. I love that Caron yarn (the green squares.) I bought another pound of it in a beautiful garnet color last weekend. So when are you teaching your grand daughter to crochet? She must have plenty of time now school is out......
Vickie -- no need for apologies sister! Having your house flooded is a real pain in the ***. I'm trying to figure out what Nate is making -- 2 rectangles with handles = potholders? I saw a cute idea to sew 2 placemats together on 3 sides and add handles on the top side = instant tote bag or purse.
-
Annie - So happy to hear you recieved your afghan. Please do post a picture when you can.
Hugs to you,
Sue
-
