No need to say more, this says it all.

It is the highest form of self-respect to admit our errors and mistakes and make amends for them. To make a mistake is only an error in judgment, but to adhere to it when it is discovered shows infirmity of character.

It would seem from all I've read that the orange thing may be as broke as so many articles state. 'disclaimer' as I didn't save anything I read since most of you I think read mainly where I do. He continues to grift, since he is, was, and will always remain a con man. That is who he is, but I do think funds likely are not exactly coming in as they once did. The money that does come only shows some people have totally tuned off their brains where orange is concerned. We did read that Deutche Bank has to make different payment arrangements on the loan for the lease and re-build of the old post office -- or it would have gone under early and despite being in the WH the place still lost $ 70 million while he was there. A real loser. Sounds like he has a few more yrs. before the principle part of the payment kicks in, but at the same time it also sounds like Deutche is no longer willing to work with him. So, who ( extraordinarily brave bank they would have to be ) is going to step into Deutche's shoes. No one is showing up.

Sure sounds like this is going to be a big issue and I'm waiting for Bannon to pay up for his show of shows.

May be an image of 1 person and text that says 'Let me get this straight. Trump's trying to exert something he no longer has, Executive Privilege, to protect men who no longer answer to him from illegal acts they may have performed when they did answer to him? AND THE GOP IS OK WITH THIS? American News X'

We know he is not going to get anywhere but it is going to be interesting to see his henchmen ( Bannon ) sink in his quicksand.

Calls Grow For Independent DOJ Task Force To Investigate Trump

A collection of government watchdogs are calling on Attorney General Merrick Garland to launch an independent DOJ task force to investigate Trump.
    Read on »

I do think this likely should happen as too many people are roaming around having done things that were against the law, the Constitution and so therefore against all other law abiding people. I also think if people were indeed brought to some kind of justice maybe some of the laws being stretched to the nth. degree and setting up laws and practices that take away people's vote may come to a halt. While no one is perfect and at times both Democrats and Republicans have stepped out of line, it does seem having gotten permission from the orange loon for 4 yrs. has created a monster that isn't ready to stop any time soon. Whatever would help get anyone back in some sort of parameter and for the betterment of all I would welcome. If that is finding out who did what and what rises to some form of prosecution I do think a few well aimed punishments might begin to make believers in behaviors that are more acceptable to all while advancing actual real democracy.

All these investigations yet no one ever seems to be charged with a crime or do time. It gets frustrating.

I am very disappointed with a woman I know. She was a high school classmate I was friends with for a few years in school. We grew apart after school and years later bonded over the 2016 presidential election via Facebook. She is quite the very outspoken life-long liberal. Very intelligent on many matters. Lived in Florida and worked for many years as a maternity nurse. Her husband passed several years ago, she recently sold her house as she's moving back to her Ohio family.

I just see on FB that she spent the last two weeks in the hospital with Covid. She had not got the vaccine. She said that she kept putting it off planning to get the vaccine once she moved to Ohio

I can't even. It is incomprehensible to me that she played that kind of Russian roulette. I see her as something of a drama queen and she's always been a bit off kilter. I accepted her as such. But my estimation of her has taken a big hit. It was reckless and irresponsible of her to not be vaxxed yet. It just does not go along with the public image of Democratic ideals she displays,

If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue. Make a decision to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and the need to judge. Those are the three things the ego is doing all the time. It's very important to be aware of them every time they come up. -Deepak Chopra

I too am weary of knowing all the laws and norms that went to pot and no one is paying up for it. I could be wrong but in my mind so many people ( not just Democrats ) would possibly find a sense of comfort in seeing that people do not GET away with what sure walks and talks and acts like we expect traitors to act. I have agreed that in some cases there likely does need to be great care taken so dotted i's and crossed t's made it nearly impossible for anyone to weasel out but surely something more of the errant and law breaking Reps. could be brought to some sort of justice. If it is that easy to squirm out then maybe some of our laws need to be tightened up considerably.

It is maybe time to think about repairs or replacements to parts of our laws and even parts of our Constitution so that it fits better with our technological age and certainly that of our present-day media platforms.

It is horrid that people are finding reasons to wait to get vaccinated. I think ( if memory serves ) that when I would say I was going to wait for something I was told " weight is what broke the bridge " , which was a good way of letting me know that life could get worse if I didn't take care of business now. We never see these instances as the excuses they actually are. I mean -- so many people had to wait for an amt. of time while knowing vaccines were available and it seemed forever but wasn't too bad. My daughter to my chagrin is not doing anything to get vaccinated and it is irritating to me but I've tried to keep conversations non-judgmental so far.

I still see it as somewhat selfish on the part of those ( daughter included ) who have any number of reasons to let it go 'for now'. There could be some with valid reasons, but I think the majority is not likely to fit there.

May be a Twitter screenshot of one or more people, people standing and text that says 'Middle Age Riot @middleageriot Why go to a Trump rally when you can go to the city dump? It smells the same, but the lines are shorter and so are the speeches.'

I think there was a rally in ?? Ohio last night. He is grifting period. The media keeps playing this up but he is going to be ( I so hope ) too busy with lawsuits and other life downgrades to actually run for anything. The media hasn't figured out ( though it is just my opinion ) that keeping up with healthy doses of the truth in the end would keep people interested more.

Who with brain cells would even think it was possible for Trump to run. He is a major big time loser and that streak ( actually a while before ) has continued since the say orange other guy lost the 2020 election. He lost 60 attempts to change his election status in court, and then when he incited his maga mob to try to destroy the Capitol and get him in that just highlighted more of his loss. Only true nut jobs would hang onto this one anymore. Only hard core in government hang on and much of that is for the idiotic voters that go for orange. In their hearts -- they don't want four more yrs. of what happened any more than we do. As stated above -- he won't stop because he needs the funds, but the media would be doing a huge favor to all involved, including themselves if they would come a whole lot closer to giving up the pretense that the great orange stupid clodd will make an impossible come-back.

Trump Is Expected To Lose To Biden (Again) On 1/6 Executive Privilege

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappPinterestRedditPrintMailFlipboard

Trump is expected to sue Biden in his bid to hide documents related to the 1/6 attack from investigators, and the former president is expected to lose.

    ADVERTISING

    The Washington Post reported:

Legal experts said they think Biden, as the sitting president, is more likely to prevail in court. But they said the legal questions raised by this conflict are significant.

"This is one of the historic tests of executive power," said Walter Dellinger, who was solicitor general under President Bill Clinton and now teaches constitutional law at Duke University. Still, he said, "the decision of the current president not to assert executive privilege is going to weigh heavily" on those having to make the decision.

Biden Is Expected To Prevail Because Executive Privilege Resides With The Current President.

Trump is claiming that executive privilege over deliberations extends to after a president leaves office. If this was the case, historians and the American people would never get to study and understand how presidents made key decisions.

Executive branch communications were turned over to congressional investigators during the Watergate and Iran Contra investigations. The 1/6 Committee isn't asking for anything different or unprecedented.

Trump lost the 2020 election multiple times to President Biden, and he appears to be setting himself up for another defeat in court.

AND I so hope that this isn't drug out to the nth. degree. I hope that any counter-suit is put on an expedited level because we need to be done with the damn 2020 election and the orange ugly con man blob that never quite gets out of our faces. Every time I see something I think enough is enough but I know there is a form to follow. I just hope we can speed it up. I do realize though at some points letting the orange thing have some steam tends to allow him to make a clown out of himself and make trouble for the Reps. who are so far running on nothing but being major trouble makers.

I think I made a mistake -- that last rally was I think in Idaho, not Ohio. I did read that the orange loon opined to the rally-goers that he loves to mention The Big Lie because he gets so much applause. I guess stupid people like to share stupid things because they apparently all get a big kick out of it. So, he might as well. In the end, that isn't going to get him much for the effort. He confines to mainly make most of the Reps. cringe as he makes it hard for anyone who will be asked, reminded, or shown in video's displaying their idiocies.

I actually wonder that anyone ( come election time ) won't be using all of these items to remind the voters just what a state and disruptive state the Reps. party is in and likely by election time it may be a lot worse.

I sometimes fear we have gotten used to esp wealthy old white men getting away with so much. Using the court to prolong the crime- it has been normalized that they get away with these crimes. If a person of color or a women did one tenth of the crimes the repugs and esp the Orange one have done- they’d probably be in prison. The fact that the repugs would rather burn down the whole county than give up control and keep the majority of the money is stunningly frightening. Sometimes when I take walks with my 30 year old son and he rails about stuff that I have sadly already normalized as the way the political system seems to work.

When health care workers refuse vaccines I am especially saddened. ( they escorted an anesthesiologist out of UCLA the other day-who refused to get a vaccine—what?!?) a friend of mine with 4 kids- two of whom refused to get the vaccine- one already got covid, wife a two time cancer servivor got covid and one of their kids got it twice - of the other kids who got the vaccine- their spouses have not.

Hi ladies, I just got back from a wonderful cruise up the Hudson River. We had booked it two years ago (pre-Covid). It was a small boat, sailing at 75% capacity (75 passengers), everyone had to be vaccinated and pass a rapid Covid test before we left, we all wore masks for indoor activities, tours etc. etc. So we felt we were as safe as possible during these times and went. We did some wonderful historical tours, ate too much delicious food, and met some very nice people. Tomorrow it's back to my normal routine.....which better include being on a diet!

Here I am at Hyde Park with two of my favorite people!

Ruth, glad the cruise was vetted against Covid as much as it could be. It is a lot of extra work for the company but nice to know some of them actually do care about human lives and not just profits. Seems like you had ideal weather for the trip, too.

Love all the memes, Divine. Hooray for your friends, the Roosevelts, Ruth.

You know so many of the funny memes are so truthful which is partly why the hilarity hits so close by. The next months are likely going to be interesting with the way many things have played out. Expecting more on the reversal of the abortion ban -- where it was restored by Garland and then un-restored almost immediately. Also, waiting to see just what does take place with Bannon. He has been fairly flagrant I think in his podcasts -- kissing the ring from afar for the most part. Then there is just the orange loon who is keeping his grift going when his handlers let him out for rallies.

Read a little piece this morning about maybe he was never as rich as the media always portrayed. Sounded rather plausible to me. He first inherited money from Dad Fred. Then, he proceeded to borrow most of the rest of his life. The point was -- yes, he seemed to have done well, but the majority of the time it was always with borrowed funds. He still has more loans out than money to cover them if the media can be believed. Sure seems that way to me. All his properties are losers with no one really wanting his name attached and no banks ( here anyway and far as I know not overseas either ) wanting to take the orange deadbeat on. Orange loon seems to be living a myth that his books, and media seem to always insist he is rich -- but this richness seems to be in what he owes -- not so much in what he has. This will be quite interesting if EDNY or SDNY get the loon cornered and they seem to be working on it -- so I wait.

We all do here and it sure does seem a long time coming. Still hoping that time is being taken so that nothing can come up to stop this from happening when the shoe finally gets to the floor. The waiting does feel like forever. NO ONE no matter what side should ever be able to do what the LOON did and still be carrying on like he was justified. It is just totally wrong.
