Trump would like to invoke executive privilege on the WH information, but the only issue for him is that he no longer has that privilege. We have another President now and he is the one with the privilege. I think it will be interesting how he tries to deal with things. I mean he sat down it would seem, all the time with people in the process of writing books about him. He didn't seem so touchy then. I guess the thing is -- no way to lie if Biden just lets it go where Trump talking to journalists and writers can lie his head loose.
Biden To Ignore Trump And Turn Over All Info To 1/6 Committee
The Biden White House is leaning toward turning over all information about the Trump administration and the 1/6 attack even if Trump objects.

Yes, his presidential privilege has expired, now if only he would do the same.
I think Kayleigh is of the Hooked on Phonics age group so it takes her a while to process what she'd read.

Did he really think executive privilege applied when one was no longer chief executive ?

Memes today are all hilarious -- don't know which I like best. I think Cyber Ninjas's got cold feet and didn't perhaps put out the report they might have like to have. Didn't want to get sued up the kazoo. So true and it must be super galling to Trump to find out THEY even found extra votes for Pres. Biden. Not sure he will bother responding because what are you really going to say.
Bothersome that Pennsylvania is trying to do the same thing and maybe Tx. as well. They really are trying to sew lots of distrust in elections. I do hope what happened in AZ will put a big damper on that. As always, those who wish to believe there was some sort of cheating or fraud by the Dems. will just continue. No amt. of TRUTH can dislodge some of those Reps.

I think its quite true.

So far the only documented voting fraud in PA has been by Repugnicans. One voted twice for himself and his dead motehr so he will be serving time for voter fraud. Not sure why he didn't use "why he lost anyhow" as his defense. The others were recently discovered when a registrar at the voting poll reported a man for asking if he could vote for his son as well as himself. When he was told one person, one vote he voted and left. Later he reappears in a baseball cap and sunglasses and went to another poll worker. The first poll taker spotted him and reported the incident. Sadly, he was trying to nullify his son's vote because he was a registered Democrat whereas Dad was a dyed in the wool Repugnican. He did not get to vote the second time but was arrested and will be tried for voter fraud. I wonder how the son felt about his Dad's actions?
There are other instances and all so far have involved Repugnicans. The Democrats have countersued to prevent the recount since they are trying to get access to sensitive personal info such as last 4 digits of SS#, driver's license ID, etc. and they have no plan in place to pay for this. Our local roads are in sad shape and the money has been diverted to cover national highways since they do not want to lose federal dollars. They have already done some recounts in smaller counties and now they have to purchase new voting machines since this violated the integrity of their current machines. These counties are usually Red and lack the money to replace them. It still proved that there was no fraud.

I got my Pfizer 3rd dose this morning!!! I am SO happy! I didn't think I qualified but at my physical yesterday it came up on the computer that I was "overdue for 3rd dose" so I went to Walgreens this morning, signed my life away stating I qualified, and got it! I kind of felt like I was lying/cheating because I really don't know what qualified me, but I knew that my dr's office knew I was getting it and the computer records said I needed it, so I did it. It is wonderful to have the 3rd dose administered! Happy Day!

cm2020, congratulations! I’m waiting for approval for the Moderna vaccine. Got the nod of approval from my nephrologist when he asked me about it.
-
Yea, cm2020! I'm a Moderna Gal so also waiting.

I'm Moderna and waiting as well. Yea though for cm2020.
In other news:

Thank you! You know, I will say that I was just as emotional and thankful as I was when I got the first two. It is such a privilege to receive these vaccines and I always think of the incredible scientists who worked so very hard to develop them for us. They are true heros.

Delta Wants Airlines to Share Banned-Flyer Lists
By Ralph Ellis
Sept. 24, 2201 -- Delta Air Lines is asking other air carriers to share their lists of passengers banned for unruly behavior such as refusing to wear face masks on a plane.
"We've also asked other airlines to share their 'no fly' list to further protect airline employees across the industry -- something we know is top of mind for you as well. A list of banned customers doesn't work as well if that customer can fly with another airline," reads a memo from Delta, according to CBS News.
The Federal Aviation Administration already keeps a banned flyer database using information provided by airlines. The FAA reported this week that it has received 4,385 reports of unruly passengers this year alone, including 3,199 reports of passengers refusing to obey face mask rules.
Delta has banned more than 1,600 passengers itself and submitted more than 600 names of passengers to the FAA, CBS News reported. The FAA says its database only contains incidents reported "at the discretion of the crewmember."
Bad behavior on airliners has increased sharply during the COVID-19 pandemic, often occurring when passengers refuse to comply with federal rules that face masks must be worn in airports and on airplanes unless a person is eating, drinking, or has a medical exemption.
The FAA ordered the mask mandate in June 2020 and announced a zero-tolerance policy in January 2021. In February 2021, the agency implemented fines for unruly behavior.
Complaints dropped after that, the agency said. So far this year, the FAA has begun 789 investigations into passengers accused of unruly behavior. In 2020, the FAA started 183 investigations, CBS News said.
The FAA can propose fines of up to $37,000 per violation. One incident can result in multiple violations. Perhaps the largest fine proposed so far for unruly behavior was $52,000, for a passenger accused of trying to open the cockpit door and physically assaulting a flight attendant twice.
CBS News reported last month that the FAA has already requested fines of more than $1 million in 2021 for unruly passengers. It's unclear how many of the fines have actually been paid.

Magiclight, so many African-American women gone missing over the decades and the media give a collective "meh." Just the other day, an African-American mother in IL whose ISU student son had been missing for nearly a month pleaded for the press and police to pay as much attention to him as they had to Gabby Petitto. His body was found in a creek on Labor Day weekend but not identified till yesterday. No cause of death was given, and supposedly "the investigation is ongoing." I doubt it's been "ongoing" very long.
I remember back in the early 'aughts when prime-time MSNBC was nearly unwatchable. Between Joe Scarborough and Rita Cosby, it was practically the "all-Natalee-all-the-time channel." Everything was Natalee Holloway & Joran Vandersloot...over & over again. I expected such drek from Nancy Grace (anyone remember when HLN was the "headlines" CNN-lite?), but not from MSNBC. Even Keith Olbermann's snark became a welcome relief (except of course when Countdown had guest hosts who didn't do the trademark "Worst Persons in the World" segment--it got so that if the introductory phrase "which stories will you be talking about?" was uttered in an unfamiliar voice, I changed the channel). Also, the Friday night (and weekend-night) trashy "true crime" shows 48 Hours, 20/20 and Dateline--all of which at one time were conceived in the mold of 60 Minutes--all riff on the same theme: white woman plots to kill husband so she can shack up with young hunk, white husband plots to kill wife so he can shtupp white trophy girlfriend, yadda yadda...
Gordy's fiancee tutors (mostly online) for Americorps. Last year she was assigned to teach one day a week at Simeon HS on the South Side (the kids were on Zoom but she had to be at the school). A couple of days ago, one of her students was murdered in a drive-by at a Potbelly around the corner from Simeon.

I am a Moderna gal, but I got my third shot in late August when Walgreen's was offering them--I had to show proof of age (70) and attest that I am further immune-compromised by virtue of having a current inoperable cancer (ocular melanoma). The radiation brachytherapy is still "percolating" and therefore active, so I qualified. Also, having a husband (72) who is a practicing physician working 7 days a week at hospitals, encountering COVID patients, puts me at risk. Bob got his Pfizer booster ten days after I got my Moderna.
Today CDC director Rochelle Wallensky overruled her own advisory committee and approved Pfizer boosters for those with occupational risk (including teachers & health care workers) and those 18-64 with risk factors for severe disease. My son (36) has barely-controlled asthma (much worse than mine); his fiancee (31) is obese and has to supervise a tutoring center in person one day a week. They both had Pfizer shots in Feb. & March 2021.
Tonight Rachel Maddow led off with the concept of the "own goal," which happens in soccer when someone goofs and kicks the ball past its own goalie into the net, giving the opponent the point. She showed one such example of a "wrong-way-Corrigan" (I know I'm dating myself with that reference) who got confused and kicked the ball past his own goalie; and another freak happenstance of a goalie kicking the ball downfield, only to have the wind carry it back into the net--and because he was the one who kicked it, was prohibited by rule from trying to defend against it (and himself). This led into the stories of the recounts ordered by Repugs--which resulted in higher vote totals for Biden. When will they ever learn "be careful what you wish for....?"

You will not grow if you sit in a beautiful flower garden, but you will grow if you are sick, if you are in pain, if you experience losses, and if you do not put your head in the sand, but take the pain and learn to accept it, not as a curse or punishment but as a gift to you with a very, very specific purpose. -Elisabeth Kuebler-Ross

Hope the airlines do share all their lists. No point if they don't.
I watched R. Maddow last night as well. Her program ( usually is ) was very interesting. It did seem worrisome when she had Steve Schmidt ( former Reps. strategist ) on speaking about how in danger we are with what the Reps. are doing at the moment. They are hoping to set the stage for themselves. I am hoping that we can do well ( going to have to go very hard on it though ) in the '22 elections because we need more Democrats, especially in the Senate so we can get the laws passed that will actually help us with the rights of all citizens to vote.
We are hostage at the moment, but that could change. Have to be in a position where people like Manchin don't have to be the arbiters of what goes forward for us. So it was felt that many ( a bit of apathy or maybe just thinking the other guy will do it ) of us are not taking the democracy threat we are under serious enough. That is because Trump and his hideous minions are heavy still yet in the "chaos" department. As long as you are having to deal with things you basically never have, you may get tired and give up, but even if you don't, moving forward is a lot more difficult. Gives the other side elbow room to get in position. It felt alarming to hear and I don't alarm readily. Here's hoping

One of the many who need to go asap.
-
Just over the top ridiculous, but this is exactly what is happening.
What an epitath.
-
He doesn't seem to know where he is half the time. I hope he loses his bid. The R's want him to run of course, because he is 'known'. I'm hoping that negative sentiment for almost any Reps. has grown immensely. We thought most of our troubles were on the way out when we were able to have Senate, House and President. It's clear that the Reps. have dug in and we are going to just have to dig deeper.
