Well, well....maybe our incantations are paying off. Lindsey Graham has tested positive for Covid, despite being vaccinated. Perhaps now he will begin to realize what a danger his anti-vax buddies are posing for EVERYONE.
-
Couldn’t happen to a better person.

I agree and as far as Giuliani needing money, 45 never paid him for the impeachment and other nefarious legal advice he provided. If ignorance is bliss, then he is an idiot representing someone who is well-known for not paying bills and he should be smiling blissfully. Do you think he will resort to a "go fund me" plea?
I am sure those incantations worked.

Memes are hysterical and true. I'm also chuckling over Graham who dearly does deserve his covid. Enough of those guys get a dose of that and maybe some of them will have a late epiphany. On the other hand why should I or anyone give a diddler's darn what happens to Graham since he and his cronies seem incapable of caring much about anyone ( save the orange voters ) including themselves. I would find it funnier yet if a whole bunch of them got this reality check.

Sadly, even with L Graham getting Covid and now urging people to get the vaccine, the damage was done months and months ago, and there are large percentages of people who will not change their minds now about getting the vaccine. They have been brainwashed to the point of no return. A couple of proverbs come to mind, such as “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." The Repugs should have gotten behind the vaccine from the start. Now it takes huge efforts to persuade even just a small amount of antivaxxers to change their minds. It even takes death of loved ones for some to see the light. It didn't have to come to this. There's another saying, “A stitch in time saves nine." The potential to have this Covid shit sewn up and contained and be far less of a threat was squandered because of the politicizing of the vaccine and mask wearing and social distancing that cost lives! Even with deaths, some people will never place blame on the Repugs or the former guy! Or believe that Covid is real, or that the vaccine is the solution.

So true I'm afraid about the vaccines. Much I think was the orange thing early on who felt great need to convince at least 'his' people that it was all fine. Now I hear even after his getting the vaccine, and even though a lot of his aides tell him he should encourage the vaccine he will not because it might help Biden. Some people are totally incapable of change.
Hard to imagine someone who could help and they do nothing because they are afraid they would make someone else a success. That said, Biden already is for the most part, but anything that has the possibility of making Biden look bad is hard for those on the right in many cases to resist. Sadly doing something like that is not called killing people -- but they die anyway. Just another instance of the orange thing never being called to answer for his misdeeds. I do feel like losing the election was a form of accountability for sure and I'm waiting with baited breath for some of the rest of it. It can't come to soon for me.

Oh, it is that last line.

And churches wonder why they are losing members....duh!!!

Supposedly Biden reached 70% of the population having at least one vaccine shot this week. Alexander Vindman told Willie Geist if 45 had been impeached on the first attempt, 600,000 deaths could have been prevented. If the Repugnicans keep rejecting the vaccine, their voting numbers should be significantly reduced by 2022. The Covid numbers in FL have been astronomical over the past 3 days and DeSantis's projection that FL was God's waiting room seems to be coming true. Sad prediction.

Listening is the oldest and perhaps the most powerful tool of healing. It is often through the quality of our listening and not the wisdom of our words that we are able to effect the most profound changes in the people around us. When we listen, we offer with our attention an opportunity for wholeness. Our listening creates sanctuary for the homeless parts within the other person. That which has been denied, unloved, devalued by themselves and others. That which is hidden.
In this culture the soul and the heart too often go homeless.
Listening creates a holy silence. When you listen generously to people, they can hear the truth in themselves, often for the first time. And in the silence of listening, you can know yourself in everyone. Eventually you may be able to hear, in everyone and beyond everyone, the unseen singing softly to itself and to you. -Rachel Naomi Remen -
Betrayal, I sure hope you are right. It is something I have been thinking of myself -- that the Reps. are going overtime to deny themselves a life saving injection and will die. Odd to have a whole ( of course it is not whole ) party with something of a death wish. Not an altar I would use for worship. Could the orange one ask for any more loyalty. Did I just read that covid is having another variant showing up along with the Delta. Once again I find it amazing although never before have I thought of gross stupidity as amazing, but I have to remember it is a cult.
-
Yes, the Lambda variant has already reared its ugly head but so far it is still somewhat contained. However, as more of the unvaccinated develop Covid, the spread will continue, and the virus will continue to evolve until the entire Greek alphabet is used up at this rate. I have 2 grandchildren who are not eligible for the vaccine due to their ages, one will be 11 (GS) this week and the other will be 6 (GD) in October. Their school district was pushing to have them start school in person again this fall but with the surge of infections in their county, that may change. My GS liked online learning because he could work at his pace, get his work done in a timely fashion and had more free time. My GD is to start kindergarten in the fall and I know her mother is very concerned about sending her to school. She had been attending preschool prior to Covid but this stopped and her other GM had been doing what she called their "surname Academy". She seemed to enjoy it and has been keeping her learning skills up to date. I am worried about them going back to school while unprotected. As it was my DS used to refer to them as "germ factories" when they were going to school pre-Covid since they brought home so many colds, etc. to share with their parents.

I find this assessment of DeSantis appropriate:
'The Pied Piper leading us off a cliff': Florida governor condemned as Covid surges
Florida governor Ron DeSantis earned a new moniker this week as the resurgent coronavirus continued to wreak havoc on his state: the "Pied Piper of Covid-19, leading everybody off a cliff."
The stark assessment of the Republican politician from Dan Gelber, the mayor of Miami Beach, came as Florida continued to set records for new cases and hospitalizations, saw worrying surges in both deaths and rates of positivity, and led the nation in pediatric Covid admissions.
With the highly contagious Delta variant swirling, a state comprising little more than 6% of the US population was accounting for one in five of the country's new cases, recording 50,997 in the three days to Tuesday, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Gelber said he thought DeSantis's stance could backfire and end up hurting businesses.
"I'm the mayor of a hospitality town. I think most people coming here would rather be in a place that they feel safer than a place that they feel like they may be getting the virus," he told CNN
“He's like the Pied Piper just leading everybody off a cliff right now, letting them know that they don't have to like the CDC, they don't have to wear masks, they can do whatever they want in the midst of an enormous pandemic and Florida, by wide margins, is easily the worst state in the country."
-
Saw that article. Local news is full of increased covid counts, not too much about DeathSantis. Which is a shame. School starts next week in my county, masks optional The boards are too afraid of loosing $$ to make them mandatory. DD and grands will be wearing them. Once again FloriDuh is making national headlines for wrong reason
