Terry Tempest Williams in her book "The Hour of Land" describes meeting Lady Bird at the hotel where a writer's conference was being held. They had a private party and talk after Lady Bird sent the secret service escourt out to get pizza. Lady Bird described how she would never forgive those who pushed here environmental agenda into a flower show. A very good book exploring several National Parks. Each chapter very different from one another, perhaps emphasizing the uniqueness of each park.

Satire from The Borowitz Report
Melania Banishes Trump to Children's Table
November 26, 2020WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Claiming that his tantrum about losing the election had ruined Thanksgiving, Melania Trump exiled her husband to the children's table.
Donald J. Trump's expulsion occurred shortly after his wife asked those at the grownups' table to name things for which they were thankful.
Jared Kushner named "doing such a kick-ass job on the pandemic," Ivanka Trump cited "that I didn't talk to Bob Woodward," and Rudy Giuliani chose "my beautiful, naturally dark hair."
When it was the President's turn, he launched into a ten-minute tirade about an election-stealing conspiracy involving George Soros, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and "well-known Antifa sympathizer Tucker Carlson."
By the time he began calling for the imprisonment of Lesley Stahl, Melania had heard enough.
"You just wrecked Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday," she said. "It's not like Christmas, which totally blows."
She then banished her sulking husband to the children's table, causing Barron Trump to remark, "Why am I being punished?"
Barron later emerged victorious in a wishbone game with his father, who demanded that the result of that contest be overturned.

Betrayal
.
I read a couple of news blurbs a few minutes ago. Guess orange Drumph gave Maria Bartiromo from Fox News an interview. Guaranteed to be full of misinformation or can we just say bold-faced lies due to no substantiation what-so-ever. He was being the usual cry-baby. He said no matter what he would never believe that Biden actually won, no matter how 'evidences' were presented. So he continues to be colorful for his group of Trumphites making sure to highlight the word fraud as much as he can. Those who believe him are those who want too. At the same time people like ignorant Roy Blunt keep talking as though they are leaving the door open for Trump in case he gets something to stick. That is about as likely as my winning the lottery for X-mas. No one seems to have gotten through to him that the margins of the win ( both Electoral and popular ) put the kibosh on having a bunch of lawyers running to overturn the election w/o a shred of proof.
No one seems to have told them that they might as well NOT show up if they don't have that proof. It is the usual Trump playbook -- threaten and cajole because so many people don't argue the point with Trump. True in plenty of his phony lawsuits, but when you are dealing with millions of people to dis-enfranchise it hits a wall, solidly and ends up back in your lap. Real lawyers back out fairly quickly since they wish to be viable after inauguration day.

Seeing the inaugural stage & reviewing stands being built in DC now is such a wonderful turnaround from when I was last there, in Dec. 2016--back then, it was ominous, like the beginning of the end. Felt like a reminder that the sands were reaching the bottom of the hourglass.

Attempting to "fit in" is not a worthy objective.
There is no point in feeling sad or upset when your plans, your ideas,
or even your fundamental nature do not "fit in" with the majority view.
Be the courageous hero and stay committed to your greatest ideas and ideals,
however they are received by those around you.
Do not follow where the path may lead.
Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.
