We have lots of Forest Cats here as well. My area of Seattle was settled by Norwegians and Swedes. We have some Maine Coons, but not a lot. I don't think I could handle that much fur. We fostered a cat with long fur that would float in the air. I felt a lot better after she was adopted. She liked to get between us in the morning and sleep under the covers with her head on our pillows.

Wren - we have a flame point himalayan - white with orange points. He's a rescue; dumb as a rock but with a lovely nature. He sheds beyond belief. I maintain that his theme song is "every time you go away, you take a piece of me with you." And yes, it floats through the air.
-
KiwiCatMom - now I can't that song out of my head! Lol!! Interesting, my husband would like a Maine Coon cat too... he likes the bigger size of the Maine Coon cat and its lynx-like ears. Not likely we will ever have one though, there's always a rescue kitty waiting to share any open space in our home, and we are so ok with that. Aren't we lucky to have cat lover hubbies!!
-
Cleo - wonderful!
Pantrah - I just got round to looking up Lil Bub who I had not heard of - how wonderful that Lil Bub got adopted by someone willing to take on her special needs - great to see kind people in action.
-
The rascals are a mixed breed.
-
my himalayan is smart-ish but also falls off his own cat tree. and he also thinks hes a dog which i have no idea where he picked up these traits since there are no puppies here ... so it allows for hours of cat entertainment
Feelinfeline- i follow aka stalk lil bub on fb. Her little videos will melt your heart. vet said she wld never jump/run etc... well now she can jump off the couch and go up and down the stairs ! their tag line is " Good Job Lil Bub" and all the money they earn goes to rescue kitties
-
I wish I could adopt Cleo and her little baby. I love them.
-
Happy first day of fall!
-
When I was looking at old pictures, I found this one of Baby Oreo.
-
Sweet Baby Oreo! Looks like an older version of one of Tinzel's babies in KiwiCatMom's photos
)
Ruth I had to laugh, I wiped my computer screen trying to remove the hair that got scanned on your photo of Baby Oreo, it looks exactly like one of our border collie's hair lol!! We have lots of fur floating around here right now with 3 cats and a shedding border collie, doesn't bother me one bit... as I de-lint (or de-fur) my clothes, singing "everytime you go away, you take a piece of me with you..." right KiwiCatMom?
-
Too funny Donna! I had a border collie growing up and they do shed! Would give anything to have one again.
Baby Oreo! So darn cute!
You only wanr Cleo because you haven't seen Turtle. Will try to post about her later today.
-
Sorry not a kitten just a contented Gus. Actually he was trying to get me to feed him. One good thing he has lost some weight now he isn't able to eat what Barney left.
-
Or cat hair.
-
Alyson what a beautiful photo of Gus! He looks like one contented kitty
Prowler is the first ginger cat that I have ever owned, he came to us about a year ago. He is one goofy guy who easily earns his keep by means of his entertainment value. Just love him. Love all of them.
"If I tried to tell you how much I love my cats, you wouldn't believe me - unless your heart is also meow-shaped and covered in stray fur." - Lexie Saige
"He swings from the chandelier, he paws my peanut butter, and he knocks over my drink in the most unfortunate places in the house - but I still love him like crazy. It's like a hairball in my heart." - Audra Foveo-Alba
"When a man loves cats, I am his friend and comrade, without further introduction." - Mark Twain

haha. I always say my white cats get on me because they felt I didn't have enough white cat hair on my clothes for the day.
-
Gus
Donna Dew - So funny about the hair!!
-
Spookiesmom - I am glad you are a bipartisan furperson!
KiwiCatMom - I love Cleo and her kitten! Post many photos!!
-
A fur baby is a fur baby. My DH doesn't like cats or I'd have one. I do have a grandcat.
-
Kitten, my grandcat
-
Spookie: I see you have a grandcat whose fur clashes with everything. Our tortie decided her favorite blankie was a yellow/blue/pea soup knitted blanket.
-
She was helping her mom. It's sooooo rare to see her DD had to get a pic.
-
Such a striking grandcat Spookie. Very handsome.
-
Spookie, such distinctive markings! One parent must have been a tortie, and the other a black and white tuxedo cat
)
-
Have you noticed that cats prefer sleeping on contrasting colors? Black on white and vice versa.
-
So glad I'm not the only one to say grandcats, LOL. Had two tuxedo cats that preferred to lay on dark colors. Daughter's Himalayan prefers light colors.
Love all the pictures. Cats are amazing creatures.
-
Have a grand cat as well but don't have her photo on this new phone. She is a tiny wee tabby with the biggest eyes. Will get one later.

Overly concerned Ralphie worried about the very loud thunderstorm we are having. Thunderstorms are new to him.
