Cats, cats, cats

Moni - we have 8 cats and it's largely because my husband is a crazy cat guy. I love them too and don't object, but he's the real soft touch at our place. We're buying a place that comes with chickens - may have to get some advice from you!
-
Just be aware that torties are know for "tortitude" and can be in your face. That said, my heart kitty was a torti.
-
KiwiCatMom- I am sure you will enjoy the chickens. They all have their own personalities and contrary to popular belief, they are intelligent creatures and are aware of everything! All of my pets peacefully coexist, but that sometimes makes for some very funny moments! We do not eat our girls, just the eggs, so they really are pets. I will be more than happy to lend any advice I am able. How many are you inheriting?
-
Not sure how many; 8 or 10. The eggs are food, but not the chickens. They are pets. Will be interesting to see how they do with the cats, and vice versa.
We don't move until Nov, but I will definitely hit you up for advice.

Mozie, Queen of the warm laundry pile
-
Mozzie! Those toes!
-
FF I love the lucky story! Great the cat got a home. I love all the photos. We use revolution and find the stuff to be excellent at killing fleas. Wren- you are lucky to have found the harness! We must have put 20 cat collars with tags on our old man Percy and he's ditched them all. His motto.. no cat collars! He's 15 and not micro chipped since back then at the humane society they didn't do it. Everyone else in the house has a chip and a collar. Off to bed it's almost 1am.

Awww Mozie. So cute. We made it to FL. Kitties all did great on the trip. Starkist is hiding under the blankets on my bed. She won't budge. If I lift the blankets she burrows in deeper, she's traumatized. Dusty and Ralph were fine, being all swag walking around the new place. Ralph is now asleep behind the fridge. We can't find Dusty but I know he hasn't gotten out.
So glad to be here :-)
-
Welcome to sauna land! Wait till they discover all the lizards running around.
-
CAMommy: Poor kitties! Can you really blame them for going AWOL? (both of mine remained invisible for nearly two weeks when they were first introduced to our household. Five years apart.)
-
Hooray! Glad you made it safe and sound, CAMommy! Here's hoping the furbabies recover from the trauma quickly.
Here's an update on the kits born a week ago. They are growing so fast! And those little feet and ears!
-
So sweet! Here is another darling kitten:
-
Baby kitty!
So darn cute.
-
Our household is in "house guest recovery mode" today. Glad I was able to come here during the past few days for a smile or an "awww" to keep my sanity. I needed some funnies and found these photos using Mr. Google. Thought I would share. It's just one of those days.
Cats on top of glass tables...
-
Oh Lord... getta load of this one... someone obviously photoshopped the white cat on the glass table....
The mother ship!!
-
The cats were distraught with the house guests too. Was a little concerned that they were starting to get ideas like the one below... I wouldn't have blamed them.
-
-
I suffer from this daily. :-)
-
Works with lap dogs too!!!! Did send to DD 2 cats at her house.
-
spookie I fostered a mama dog who was the best lap dog I kept saying she was pretty much a cat. I wanted keep her but being a stray she absolutely hated men. She would go ballistic everytime my husband walked into a room
-
My sister's Husky was raised by her two felines, and thinks she is a very large cat. She can amuse herself for hours, but can not understand why her 'brothers' can jump up on to high counters and she can't make it!!!
-
-
Ruth, We had it the other way around. Dog convinced kitten he was a puppy. They played and played. Best buds.
-
Our big tabby Turbo was nursed by a dog. He is really a doggy cat. Fetches things, patrols the perimeter of the property, very territorial.
-
The cutest thing is that the kitten's ears wiggle when nursing. Probably can't see if it's the mother, but very noticeable if you're bottle feeding.
-
Agreed Wren! Hopefully will get a video of ear wiggles from Kitten Inn...then I just have to figure out how to post it. Tried earlier and it failed, so I deleted it.
-
Ok, these are not kittens. I know that. And this is the cats page. But...this is too awww-inducing not to share. Flossy was rescued by Helping You Help Animals (HUHA) after she was badly abused and severely injured by a person who didn't think she was a good enough hunting dog. A couple of days after the rescue, it was discovered she was pregnant! This is Flossy with her newborn (today) babies. There are 8; six are in great shape and two are requiring some extra care, but fingers crossed. The HUHA staff are providing 24-hour care to mum and babies. So yes, not kittens, but . . .
