Been a crazy weekend gals.
My Brother in Law was in a terrible motorcycle accident, from what I know, He was merging onto the freeway, caught his foot some how and accelerated into guardrail across 3 lanes of traffic. Then flew 75 feet, over into the other lanes of traffic, landed on his face (He was wearing a helmet) and is currently in a coma. Praise - not one care hit him in this whole ordeal. It did do major damage to his foot and head. The scan showed swelling and fluid but the rest of the brain looked ok. Once they got him stabilized they worked to piece his foot back together. They have been reducing sedation to wake him up, but has been too agitated and they sedate him again. That thick skull, and stubborn and resilient attitude will pay off as he fights his way back to his wife and daughter! Thoughts and prayers for a full recovery are always welcome!

i sure need lots of hugs, in the midst of all the doc and rad crazyness my ddevelopment is trying to repave my street......between the raindrops. Means i need to move my car on certain days which change based on the rain.
What a mess, but they do have a golf cart on call during business hours, guess me and donald have common trait today

Golf cart likely tomorrow

Iris, good luck! For what it's worth, I've been very happy with MSK. My doctors are based at the Lauder Center in the city, but most of the time I've gotten infusions in their Brooklyn center, near my home.
I'm sure you ride the golf court with style!
-
rainny good to know you were pleased
Spoke to my rad doc and my new med oncol is serena wong, i like the things written on her so one thing settled,
Yeah, i hold on for dear life on the golf cart
-
Octo: glad to see the teddies holding paws together
Proud/Iris: I'll take some of your crazy--Accounting class (short form/abbreviated summer term) is taking up all of mine just now.
-
Hugs for all
-
well got my ride set for first rad treatment
I know it is not a big deal but it sure is to me
-
In your pocket, Iris! It IS a big deal. Go get 'em.
For what it's worth, the rads people at MSK in NY were great, super nice. By the way, I found music was very helpful during rads. Each day, I brought in my iPad and a small speaker, and played music. It helped me float away a bit while the machines and techs were doing their thing, and it definitely helped with my anxiety level, which was pretty high.
Good luck!
-
iris, I agree, everything going on in your life right now and always is a big deal. You got this and we got your back!
Every time I mow the yard these days leaves me snuffy, stuffy and coughy !
Hugs to everyone 🤗
-
iris - In your pocket. It's all a big deal, IMHO. Sending you healing thoughts and gentle hugs. We are here for you!
-
Iris, weirdly once I got into the routine I enjoyed going to my rads appointments because my team was so attentive and compassionate. I gave my regular tech two Hugs when I finished. I will be in your pocket.
-

-
Proud: good night's sleep always helps! (another vote for "It's a HUGE deal.") How big are your pocket gussets?
-
My own crazy's winding up a bit: MO said "Diagnostic mammogram. even though your previous one was clean, just in case they need to take extra images." I said "Yes, please, diagnostic mammogram, for exactly those reasons." BUT NO: insurance said "Screening mammogram." So guess what happened?
Yep.
I'll go sublimate my greebles into my accounting homework.
-
Hi, ladies -
I need some good thoughts, please! I have my annual MRI coming up next Tuesday and I'm a bit of a mess (as I usually am just before mammo or MRI!) If I make it though this one, I'm on my way to becoming a three-year survivor in September. Woot! I just have to get through the next week of the test and the waiting. Ug. Waiting AGAIN!
