    Sizzle,

I don't think you can scare anyone here. We have read and seen it all. Life needs to cut you some slack. You are overdue.

Sizzle, that's what all the threads and groups are for. No one understands better than those who have been through it. I cut and paste the group heading and it came out large and bold. Always speak your mind. Cancer is crappy, but the further away you get, the easier it is. Life does get back to normal. I still come to BCO because I have friends here or maybe some of my past experiences can help someone else.

Sizzle, I didn't see a link to click on, so didn't reply before. I'm sorry! But I agree, no reason for any of us to be afraid of what another has been through or their feelings. Maybe one of us can be of some help, at least emotionally.

Thanks so much everyone. I definitely have my ups and downs but don't melt down too often. I felt so good yesterday and then this morning started feeling not so great again, physically. I have a 101 temperature. I called as we all have been directed to do. I had a physician that was very impatient call me back. Since I had the three shots (forget what the smaller ones are called) and am on antibiotics, he said there wasn't much else to do...I don't have any other symptoms. He said call doctor in the morning....THANKS SO MUCH...

I took a cool shower and am sitting with a cool washcloth on my bald head.... Now I have to worry all night. I just pray I wake up feeling good in the morning.

    :-) Kathi

Sizzle, you should also check out the March 2015 chemo group. We are an active group and would love to have another March sister join us!

Woke up today with a normal temperature...thank the Lord. I wil call the nurse later to see what to do if it goes up again.

Thanks for the hi glennie. Wish you still lived here :-) Did you move far?

Eheinrich, I did try the March group. I guess I was intimidated. I can't keep up with remembering everyone's names and facts as everyone seems too. I have that brain baffle for so long after chemo. When I did post something, I just didn't feel I fit in. I am older and triple negative. I read it every day though and the triple negative group but it isn't very active.

If I was my old self, I would start another forum and see what happened... I remind myself that a week from Tuesday is my last TC. I will get through this.

SizzleStitch, I am 53 and in the March forum, and am almost triple negative. I was only slightly Her positive after three levels of testing. Don't be intimidated, please post there whenever you feel like it or need to vent.

Hi Sizzle,, yeah, I'm up in Gainesville now. I love the town,, but miss the beach! It was lovely back in the day when I could get to the beach in 5 mins.  I used to live off of County Line Road (Martin County side) and then I moved to Hobe Sound for several years before coming up here.  Glad you have a normal temp!

Here's another forum where you might want to hang out,, the middle-aged Babes!https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/109/topic/739321?page=985#idx_29546  I pop around to different places when I see a topic that interests me. Mostly I hang out with the Lymphedema gang and Paget's.  I pop over to the Bird Watching and Gardening group too. Comfort dogs. It's nice seeing other people's pets and gardens.   And it's fine to lurk,, read only,, but respond when you want to. You will get more comfortable after a while.

    Only one more TC!!  YAY!!!

Thanks italychick, I will try to post on the March page again someday. :-)

Glennie, I lived years ago in Gainesville. It is a great place too...so much to do there...hot though. I need the sea breeze. I will check out that forum even though I am at the top end of the age :-).

I have to say, i didn't know what paget's was. I googled it. I am so sorry if you are dealing with it and lymphedema. I did have a nipple sparing bilateral mastectomy/reconstruction so will have to watch out for a lot of things. I worry about lymphedema. My nodes were taken from my dominant arm side and I have had my dog pull the leash like crazy. It is hard to use my other arm. :-/. I haven't been reading the Internet for the most part...I am too afraid to. I am trying to take one day at a time.

Well, my temperature went right back to 100.5 this morning, I just got back from the doctors a while ago. Of course my temp was normal there. Seems like all my blood count etc are fine..?? I was basically told to take Tylenol if it goes up up again....hopefully, it will stay down tonight.

we are very flexible about age over there!

Yeah, the lymphedema is a pain, but i have a handle on it at the moment! Hopefully,,,,, i can just keep it under control. I honestly think I set mine off by doing push-ups,,, in an attempt to get back to exercise. Who knew that you had to go slowly on exercise?  Well, no one told me,,, until I started reading on the forum.   i do miss the sea breeze,,,but i've been here a long time now, and don't want to start over anywhere else. I'll just have to make the drive and visit!

What kind of dog do you have? You can see mine in my avatar. Sorry about your temp.  Hope it stays down now!!

I had heard that about exercise and since I am bad about it anyway, I am not in any rush to start now LOL.

I might get up your way someday too :-). I haven't been back there for quite awhile.

What type dog do you have? My eyes aren't that great and I am in my phone. I have a Yorkzilla. He is a 17 pound Yorkie with something else in him. He doesn't shed and is smart as a whip. I will post a pic.

Temperature is already up to 101.2...just took two extra strength Tylenol. I hope all is really ok.

Yes, Binky is a cutie patootie and a great companion. I am sure you feel the same about Ava, glennie :-).

Woke this morning with a lot of drainage and coughed quite a bit to get it all out. That is a normal occurrence with me on windy days here in Florida. I have a lot of allergies but now I am so paranoid. My temp is running right under that 100.4 mark.

I put a call in as I had been directed to do today with how I was feeling. I had to leave a message, of course. I am hoping I don't have to go in for an X-ray. I think I might actually have a virus. That would explain why the antibiotic didn't affect it. My eyes kind of ached that first day. I forgot about it so didn't remember to tell the doctor :-/. Oh well...

SO....6th year for normal mammogram even with symptoms scaring me. Ultrasound was good too. Radiologist wants breast MRI due to symptoms and breast density as a precaution. Still have oncologist hurdle tomorrow for tumor markers and for her to look at other cysts that have popped up on my back and arm.... when I was told radiologist reviewiewed after mammo and ultrasound yesterday and said no suspicious areas - many relief tears were shed!!!.

    Ms.P

The MO started to tell me that alcohol consumption is linked to bc when I held up my hand . Told him plain and straight that unless it would kill me directly, nothing would keep me from a daily glass of wine. He laughed and said, understood. You'll probably live longer for it.

I have a glass nearly everyday. Sometimes two.

My choice. I'll let you know in the next decade if I chose badly. If I did I'll have another glass to get through it.

RaiderGirl.....I love wine all year, add in gin/tonic and Corona Light Beer in the summer and sadly haven't given up alcohol. Just can't do it!!!!! When my weight creeps up, I cut back on the empty calories in alcohol because I find it an easier way to calorie restrict. When I interviewed MO's, the issue of alcohol consumption came up and I have to admit, I picked my MO because she said she didn't have a problem with it. Of course, I gave it up during chemo because it tasted like spit. I remember crying once at the thought that I might lose my love of a good glass of wine forever....fortunately, my taste buds came back. My new MO tells me that if I drink one glass of wine/day, my recurrence risk goes up 20% YIKES!

I had a beer last night.

Thank you for the gentle reminder that part of my assets are caused by empty calories.

Even 1 glass of wine a day can cause estrogen levels to rise thus linking approx. 20% increase in breast cancer to women who drink

However there has been no findings showing increase in recurrence in bc survivors. ( My take is that most of us are chemically or surgically estrogen depleted)

    see link below

    http://ww5.komen.org/BreastCancer/DrinkingAlcohol....

I am certain I can find 10 more articles that support moderate drinking and 10 that say the opposite.

Proving once again that this is all a crap shoot.

RG, it is a crap shoot. I am still drinking alcohol and restricting it only for weight issues. 20 years ago, I could bump up my activity and reduce my calories modestly and lose 2 pound/week. Seemed so easy that I sadly have been insensitive to people who say they can't lose weight..... until now. I think age, breast cancer and all its treatments and side effects have made me realize that it can be difficult/impossible for some people to lose weight. In order to lose 1 lb/week, I have to reduce my calories to 1000/day and get at least 50 minutes of active exercise every day. The only saving if you can call it that is that I need to be at a high activity level to manage joint and muscle pain I get with the femara, otherwise I don't think I would be ambulatory. It just all sucks!

Yes, it is a crap-shoot. I don't drink. Never have. And I got breast cancer.

My BS went down a list of about 5 or 6 items that were risk factors for developing BC. Only ONE applied to me.

I actually lost weight since dx. I'm sure it's just stress (the year leading up to dx was insane). Since dx things are still crazy. I think the weight loss has been the only good SE and I'm uptight about gaining it back. I've read a lot about Tamoxifen adding the pounds (I've been on it for 3 months)
