Orlando, (and other nearby Florida cities) get together

patoo - I'm with you, I don't think I could do it either - I am a picky shopper too! I grocery shopped during chemo, I usually waited to go until just before the next infusion, and cooked ahead, etc. I have a single friend locally whose co-workers chipped in and paid for a food prep service, so during chemo she had pre-made, healthy ingredient frozen dinners delivered. I also cooked for her after her surgeries.
-
Yes, we did similar for a friend in my NJ church. I cooked and delivered a meal for family of 6 every Thursday for about 6 months. Others also did the same, everyone taking or sharing a night.
-
We don't have it here in Pinellas. I did see where it would be in Tampa. They tried something similar a few years ago, didn't catch on. Their reason is Walmart is rolling out the same. Competition is fierce between the two. I doubt I'd ever use the service. I'm not that busy.

Well after I take my vacay in December I plan to pull the plug on this life absorbing job. I will be going into general real estate again, so that is exciting! It served it's purpose, although I was hoping to stay another 5-10 years and simply retire. I haven't seen anything on the Publix delivery service. We do go online and do the digital coupons, so much easier!
-
It's a company called SHIPT. They shop at publix but are not affiliated. They have a deal for two weeks free trial. Once again for bc month I talked to the publix manager about doing something like if for patients but nothing.
-
You'd think they would like the publicity, like everyone else

Hey Homemom...long time!
My wife is with Exit Realty in downtown and doing exceptionally well. I am taking the realtor course in Decrmber so I can join her.
We have moved to downtown Mount Dora to a house that is just so stinking cute! Very happy here
-
Hey Jbokland! That's great! I really can't wait to get back into general, I've sacrificed way too much for Lennar! Mt Dora is adorable, my son got married at the Lakeside Inn. Beautiful!
-
Oooooooh I love Mt Dora!!! Such a cute little town!!! All the shops...........
-
Maybe our next meetup can be in Mt Dora. Looks like a cute place to visit. I can at least look in the shops (just contracted today to build a house in The Villages).
-
Exciting Patoo!! Let's do a Jan lunch in Mt Dora?
-
One of my (our) BCo friends, mysunshine48, is moving here end-January so early February might be better. I know she will be thrilled.

I've been there twice, 5-6 years ago. Don't remember any of the restaurants. Just the doggy shop. Is it still there?
-
Love that place. My son was married at the Lakeside in - perfect idea!
-
yeah! Lunch in Mount Dora! I would love to host at my home, if you'll allow me.
-
jbokland, that would be awesome but may I suggest we tour and have lunch in Mount Dora and then gather at your home for dessert and coffee/tea/water/... But, be careful as we may have so much fun and get so comfy that we end pulling up a piece of floor and staying overnight! (gonna pack my jammies just in case)
-
I'm up for anything!!
-
