A Retreat for Peaceful Contemplation

Sunset tonight. The photo doesn't do justice for the fiery color the sky was.
-
Lisa, that was sunrise not sunset.........lol.......although one could be mistaken for the other.
-
Its amazing how many beautiful but different each sunrise and sunset are. Here is another of my favorites - Imagine in the summer, sitting on our porch swing watching the sun going down. Can't wait until it is warm enough to do that again.
-
Our morning sunrise reflects off the mountains and looks almost like our sunsets:
-
This was one of our Sunrises, last Summer... I just saw everything in the house turn bright orange, and looked out back, and caught this sunrise...
-
And this one, taken in the Fall, looking West, with the Sun coming up from in back of me, and shining on those yellow leaves!
My "Fire-bush" had just started turning red...
-
TY for all of the sunny-ness and giving me some warmth on this cold day.......it snowed several inches overnight and is a grey day....
-
sunny and seventies here so what's new..my car is being worked on so I have to stay home..boo
-
Oh fine! Just rub it in! It is 18 degrees here, and we got 6 inches of snow last night! I'de rather be where YOU are Lisa!
Sandpiper, is it getting any warmer there? The sun is shining here, but not very nice yet...
-
The sun is shining and it is a balmy 14F
I would give anything for a temp above 35F!!!
-
Hah! We beat you.... we are now up to 19.3!
-
We're up to -15C in the sun.
-
Ummmmm. The sun is fading and after refreshing my phone-it now says
-10!!!!
-
and ladies this conversation is why I'm so glad to see a SoCal and Aussie join us! I have enjoyed our winter for two months but this week I am sooooo done with it.
1 feels like -14. That's what my phone says.
-
Here is a photo my cousin in Norway took this morning. She lives on an island about midway up the coast, near Kristiansund. It is from her front door.
-
The color is tremendous. Thanks for sharing.
-
sweet, Karina -
Beautiful Pictures girls! Keep it up - just remember we need peaceful pictures and ones that make you smile and say "Aaahhhh"
Everyone is doing a great Job! My little grandsons gave me their colds.. Came home, next morning a scratchy throat and sinus headache.. I just got done with the flu the week before - Love those little guys.
I'm sharing this one because it makes me smile and this fawn is just so precious even though he is a unique, genetic oops sweety pie! Hope he makes you smile too.
I also love the color reflections on the clouds on this one. This one makes me take a deep breath and say, "Thank you God for your beauty"
-
I know this picture is big, but I just love it! I had found it a couple years ago on the Internet, and saved it in my Picassa...
-
He is a cutie pie too! Thanks for sharing. BTW Chevy, I figured out how to make them smaller - after you add the picture, click on it and it opens the edit box.. Grab one of the corners and drag it to make it smaller.
-
At a place called Wallaroo in South Australia, Australia.
-
Chrissy, can I come visit you ?
-
I love the ocean, but we live near Pittsburgh, PA and spend a lot of time on the Allegheny River. We even stay on the boat in the winter. Very peaceful with few people around (much different than in the summer time). Personally, I find this picture very peaceful.....the real nature that is all around us. This was taken yesterday morning from the back of our boat. Single-digits to sub-zero for the near future. Stay warm!
-
I went to the zoo this morning just to relax and take in the animals..
-
-
Some day I hope to visit that zoo! I love the picture of the gorilla..well, actually, all the animals! What a sweet giraffe.
-
the giraffe is a baby
-
Rhody! That IS a peaceful picture! We are land-locked here in Denver.... but I love to visit my Daughter in Orlando, and hang out at a beach!
And looking out over the bay from Fishermans' wharf at sunrise is just magical!
Grammie, I tried making it smaller, like you said, but with AOL I can't "edit" it.... Only when I go to Google to browse....
No spell-check with AOL either.... not on this site...
-
Okay, never mind! I DID it! I posted the picture then went back to "Edit" and then clicked on it like you said, and it worked! I thought I could do it beFORE posting....
