Sometime I would like to take a nature walk on a nearby bog trail and take photos.

I'll remember to bring bird seed!

This is a  photo I took this morning from my lanai window of my constant backyard companion the great white heron.  Wish I could get a closer look but I'm always not wanting to disturb her while she's fishing.

Teka,  Just love your blue bird photo.  Do you take these pictures yourself?  If you do I'd love to know what camera you use and the lens.  My daughters takes much better pictures than I.  I never want to open the doors afraid the birds will fly off.  I do the bird count with Cornell every year but I must say I'm either sleeping in too late or just falling asleep from my chemo that I haven't seen as many birds.  I love the flocks of Oak Titmouse that come every day in the morning they are so small and so cute love the play between each.

Here is a interesting picture that I took about two houses down from mine.  My daughter came in saying a Pelican had lost it's way and  there it was at our front gate  fountain and some how this Brown Pelican got lost and ended up spending the last three days and today it was gone so hopefully caught it's bearings.  We live in Northern Napa which is quite a ways from the ocean.  We have Eagles also but I see them but it's hard for me to catch them with my camera.   I must say I use my camera to identify the birds that come around.  Taking pictures helped me to determine the difference between a Green Heron and a Least Bittern and when and where they would hide within the trees and brush.

I don't know if I will ever take such beautiful bird pictures like Teka, but I can dream that someday!

This week we are in Columbia S.A. My DH and I  bird watch all over when we travel. He loves to photograph them in flight but I do not have that much patience .

Your Grey Jay shot would make a lovely Xmas card.

    Mumito,

If you're anywhere near Bogota Columbia I would say stop at the Gold Museum, it' one of the most amazing museums and the history behind all the gold.  To this day I can close my eyes and walk through rooms amazed at the culture and the craftmanship from so many years ago.  Also such a great place to bird watch.

yes beautiful! Im joining in from outside Chicago.  I dont seem to get many unusual birds in my yard, tons of little chickadees, juncos, finches...and the occasional hawk swooping down to try for lunch.

    Welcome!

I usually post photos from others that go birding in the North Country.

I see few birds at the suet and seed feeders.

Hi everyone. Just came across this forum and thought I'd join. Love all the photos. I have a small farmette called Bluebird Acres and a  nestbox trail. Last year I was fairly immobile during treatment and surgery so I truly enjoyed having the birds on our property.

I also have many indoor birds as well so it's like having springtime cheer year round here. I'm a bit bird crazy. Lol...

Hi everyone - just found this thread.  Not a very knowledgable bird watcher, but love them!!!!  Sitting in my yard this spring/summer while recovering - feeding my little sparrow, robin & blue jay friends made everything so much better.  I looked forward to going out every morning - and so did they... it almost felt like they were waiting for me on the fence at times.  My family started calling me the Crazy Bird Lady - lol!

Some amazing pictures on here - very enjoyable.  Thanks for sharing!!!

    Welcome!!

Bluebird144, my neighbor has bluebird nest boxes which gives me an opportunity to see fledglings learning to fly.

mjsgumbas, robins love hopping where a water sprinkler has soaked the ground.

We put in a bird bath this spring also - which brought in alot of little peepers (as I call them).  We live right by the forest preserves, so we are fortunate to have a bunch of wild life.  They are so calming.

I personally have an Indian Ring Neck Parakeet.  He is an interesting specimin for sure!  Sounds like a car alarm
