Ray---Soooo....how did the piano practice with Johnny helping Jacob count? I think it's great that he's getting involved! Parents sitting with their kids when they practice so they don't feel alone is very helpful
We still need to set up a skype time in case I can help.We had a wonderful weekend here with Elder and Sister Bednar speaking at various meetings for six stakes. Wonderful counsel from them, focusing on the Sabbath Day and how it brings great blessings. Our bishop followed up with this counsel today, encouraging us to "take what we learn and feel home with us after church and use it within our families for the rest of the day." Wise words that I know will help us to become "unspotted from the world" and focused on the Savior the best we can during the week.....until we gather again on the next Sabbath

Have a great week, dear sisters!

This past weekend was FANTASTIC!My VT Companion and I went over 900 miles between Fri 2:00 pm and about 4:00 pm Sun. Yeah a lot of miles.
We went to Bismarck on Fri. Well, weather did not cooperate. Snow was very bad and 'thanks to a 'tupid truck that went flying past us we wound up down a steep ditch with the back of the van in a barbed wire fence. We were both fine (as was van except for a few wire scratches). A very nice man and his wife (ranchers) stopped and pulled us back up to the road. Though we were late getting there (where we were spending the night)., we did make it to Bismarck safely. We succeeded in getting lost Sat morning but did get it figured out for us get there in time for me.
Sunday we went to a Branch.
'Anywho', this last weekend was definitely an 'adventure', Heavenly Father was definitely riding with us!

Hi, ladies! Hope you were able to watch some of General Conference this weekend. Always a spiritual boost with a large dose of love from our dear church leaders. President Monson seems more frail, but his spirit is strong and counsel, divine, as always. What was your favorite talk quote or subject? I know--it's hard to choose!
Love and peace of mind to all,
Joanne

I was just thinking about you, Susie--glad you checked in. Good to hear you got to spend time with your daughter. Chemo and rads take their toll but you'll get your strength back.
Kicks--meant to tell you that I'm quite amazed at how you survived that car incident. You're right--you must've had some heavenly assistance

Ray--I bet your egg hunt was loads of fun for the kiddos in your family with your flair for celebrations. We need to catch up, soon!
I posted this funny parody on facebook that's getting shared a LOT by all my LDS buddies. If you're an Adele fan (or not), I think you'll get a smile out of it. And the end is worth the watch--even made me cry a bit
And these guys can sing really well, too. Enjoy! -
mamma Ray, wish we were closer so we could hug. I have cried in many a parking lot, and also have binged eaten a whole coffe cake while crying in a parking lot. Hope that brought a smile to your beautiful face. It was a low moment for me, but I look back on it with some laughter.
It is so hard with your young children to go through these battles, struggles. Whatever you want to name them. And you are so young yourself.
I pray for understanding and peace as youbattle along.
I too hide stuff from my hubby and Claire, also my doc. I want everyone to be happy about my day to day living....as I struggle, they think I am doing great. Don't really think that's the right way to handle it, but how many need to be as sad as me?? I like to keep the numbers down....but are we really fooling them. Prob not. But I still go on in my silly way.
Much peace on your journey my friend
Off for testing today

Dear, dear Ray--please add my love and prayers to the wonderful posts from Suzie and Susan. I'm sure more will come. This site is your source of faith and calm in the midst of the storm. I'm sure others will help you with temporal needs but we will be here to help lift your spirit and comfort your heart. I agree with Suzie--a priesthood blessing will help you remember how loved and cherished you are as daughter of God--the one who knows you the best. XXOO from J-Mom
(Thinking of you, too, Suzie and Susan, and wishing you all the best in your treatments)

Today one of the younger women we VT had a beautiful baby!
-
Hope you few days were re energizing mamma Ray

-
I am feeling great. My daughter had a baby girl...Elena Anne, 3 weeks early. Everyone is fine and she is a great baby. Only cries when her clothes are being changed. Having fun. I live in Chicago, been here in Michigan with the kids since Tuesday. Had Elena Wednesday. I am going home Friday. Having fun. Hope everyone is well :

Welcome to the Grandma Club, Susan!!! Elena will look gorgeous in your knitted baby clothes
Glad you got to spend time with that new baby and your daughter--how wonderful! Skype and facetime will be your best friends to stay in touch and see how she's growing. Hang in there, Susie with your treatment. Hope you're resting well, now that you have your house back and probably less stress.
Ray--so happy to read posts from you and know that you're keeping busy with your adorable and too-smart-for-his-own-good son! I'm sure he'll do well on his exams. Will they test him on "Duck Spanish" ???? (Now you'll have to share that cute story with everyone--ha!)
And yes--I thoroughly enjoyed having 4 grandkids under foot this past weekend. Max turned 8 the end of March so he and his family came here for his baptism-- in the same font as my daughter when she turned 8--so it was a special occasion. His other grandparents are here, too, having cancer treatement at Loma Linda for 3 months (they're from AZ) so it worked out best for my daughter and her family to come here for the baptism so they could join with us. So glad they did! It was hard saying good bye to them on Monday. Texas is just too dang far away! -

What a gorgeous little girl!!!!!! And you and your daughter are just as beautiful and obviously in love with that sweet baby
Thanks for sharing your pictures, Susan--keep 'em comin'! -
Elena is gorgeous! For 3 weeks early, she looks big (to me anyway) from the pictures.
-
yeah she was a good size. 5 pounds 8 oz...19 inches. She fits in preemies, but we can't snap the bottoms. She is long waisted, but swimming in the newborns. She is a little poop machine...lol. But happy cause there are no tummy problems.
Hope everyone is well

What a little doll! Great picture, and I love the headband--too cute!
-
It's OK, Ray--something similar has happened to me. Glad your husband could remind you
And yes--it's almost FRIDAY! Gonna see my oncologist Friday morning, but will do something fun on Saturday to celebrate my wedding anniversary. I really need my husband to choose someplace to eat that has the best desserts, ever!!! (that's all I care about right now--ha!) Have a good weekend, everyone! -
ahhhh, mammaray....I lost my car in a parking lot once and hubby had to come an hour to where I was cause I was balling so hard. He found the car...hate feeling stupid....but we have mind overload and a condition we are fighting. Be kind to yourself my friend. Hope you have a great Mother's Day.
It's my chemo week, so I will be in bed
. Wish I could be with my daughter:(We will celebrate Thursday instead. Who cares what day we do it. Right?
-
Wonderful post, Ray! I know you'll find a way to come back to visit me in California--it will happen and we'll have a great time again!
Thanks for keepin this thread going, Susie. Hope you're feeling good more days than not.
Susan--hope you're bouncing back from chemo, too, and visiting with your granddaughter. I agree with Ray--we'd love to see more pics!
Planting tons of succulent starts in pots, big and small, for my daughter's wedding in August. Hope they survive the summer heat!
Love to all,
--Joanne

What precious pictures, Susan!!!!!! Beautiful blue eyes on that baby doll, and your daughter is gorgeous!

Susie, that second pic we call...small mouth...she does it all the time. It is pretty funny.
Not stressful this time. I helped them move to Wisconsin last week. That's where my son in law will start his residency. Now they are only an hour from me. Used to be 4. Going up tomorrow to bring them more of their stuff. They bought a house and are having a blast setting it up. This Sunday they start church hunting. They loved the one in Michigan and were very involved with youth ministry and music ministry. Hope they find another great one. Church families are so important . Have a great day
Hope you work it out mammaray. Prayers and hugs your way sister. And Dan is feeling better. A little foggy onand off through the day...but getting better. Life is a journey....isn't it
