Foots- glad you were able to plant some things in memory of your dad and nephew. Sorry you lost them both, but as you say, no longer suffering. So many who went to Vietnam were forever changed by the exposure to Agent Orange. Peace sister.

Jazzy spent some time at the Hilton in downtown Santa Fe for a few days.
-
Mags!!!! i love you.
Jazzy, looks gorgeous. I cleaned a condo today and think it is the end of my cleaning woman career. Too old, too damaged, too delicate. It is okay though. Anyways, it was on the beach and so beautiful. Makes me wanna go on vaca!!!!
-
Bippy- well you tried the cleaning job and it may be too much in the end.
Can the woman with the condo org use your help with something else less physical? You need a good office job, but not one that is too stressful?
-
jazzy, no, they have mostly 3/3 units and larger....the 2/2 today was too much, and it was not even dirty, ya know? I am sore and wiped out. I am terrified of LE.
It is ok though, no worries. i have a new appreciation for office work now. And a job interview this week. So....whatevah. At least it ain't family law. Maybe I can do it for awhile, till they piss me off or I get bored....it will be easy compared to cleaning. Maids are amazing and strong. I am neither right now.
-
Bippy- I hired a cleaning service when I had my surgeries and rads treatment. I could not do much for awhile after everything, except work. Now they come once a month to do a good deep cleaning. Cleaning is hard work, and we are just not strong for awhile.
I appreciate the gals who come here and clean for me (never mind that they do it all day/all week long). I used to do cleaning when I was in high school and for a time to make some cash in grad school. I appreciate all you are saying here.
Yay on the job interview. May the perfect work come!
-
yupper, cleanin aint for me.
I am gonna try to negotiate less hours for this new position, less than 37. 30 is ideal. And on an independent contractor basis for a year at least. I know the guy, he is ok. I will have to tell him the many errors of his ways constantly as he is a bit odd. My only concern is that I will Tell him to fuck off, right to his face which will of course result in my job loss. Bipster has ZERO filter now, and only had a partial one before BC. But I just do not care, so it does not matter! I take zero shit from these egocentric boneheads. So....it is gonna be fun. I plan to aslk for the max rate!
And Jazzy, the first thing I shall do is get a cleaner for our home
-
Teka- tough call, what do you think?

Good morning friends. Wishing everybody a good weekend and a nice long warm sunny day where ever you are.
I saw some wild horses on my drive home last Monday from Santa Fe. There are still herds of them here in the wild west. I saw this photo today which may be from NM (but definitely somewhere here out west) and thought it was beautiful. Have a feeling Onco is going to want to paint this one!

*Good Morning Hermits*
Bippy,I continue to weed and plant flower plants and seeds in the 3 flower beds. I've finished planting flower plants and seeds in the flower boxes and pots. Except for one pot in the morning sun and afternoon shade which will be perfect for a dragon wing begonia.
Today, rainy, recline and watch TV.

It is warm and sunny here today. I took my friend who just finished chemo to Costco for a food run. She is still not feeling well from the last chemo, has anemia but trying to avoid another transfusion. She seemed good today and we took a ride in my convertible and talked about jazz and then went to brunch after. It was a good day.
I bought a mixed pot of flowers that I have in a container on the patio and have noticed it looking sort of "ratty" and see why now. The birds have been eating it. The finches hop up into it and are biting pieces of the leaves and flowers off. I guess they taste good but oiy! I have seen this happen before where I have planted annuals and the flowers on top are neatly "snipped off" by a beak of some kind.
-
This just made me laugh and laugh and then laugh some more.....
-
No truer words!!!

My problem is with a year-round flock of rats with wings that gobble up bird food from dawn to dusk.
Hawks need to get busy.
Notice the one peeking at me over the green plant box! -
Teka- we have them bad in my neighborhood too. My neighbor used to have them on her roof and they were breeding under the eaves. They started hanging out in my yard as well, and I would find dying or dead ones around. Crap everywhere too. She and I have a good relationship and told her things were getting out of control with the pigeons and pointed out where they were breeding. She brought someone in to fix the house so they could not breed and discovered in the process they had done a lot of damage with living under the eaves. Now they only tend to come here in the winter when I am feeding the finches. Pigeons are like rabbits, they breed prolifically. We have some hawks and owls around here. I have caught a couple of them taking them out through the years.
I hope nature gets busy your way. Baby hawks need some food too! The one watching you knows you have their number!
-
The flock of pigeons nest under the town bridge and get thinned out by hawks!
