I bet mild would be delicious!

Jazzy, what part of New Mexico? I went to high school in Las Cruces. Remember the Hatch chiles. Yum.
Just got back from 1st oncologist visit. We're going ahead with bmx Monday morning with port placement for chemo. Relieved. Ready to have this part behind me. Did not want to do neoadjuvant chemo although he gave me the option.
-
Magdalene, many good thoughts and wishes will be with you on Monday.
-
Oh Mags I'm so happy, u'r getting things started, once they start it just goes and thn it's a memory ad while u'r going thru whatever it is we'll be here for u so don't worry.

Another change--getting my nails done Monday now. We have to on Monday.
Hope everyone has a decent weekend.
-
Magdalene51, you rock, you know! Best wishes for Monday! I had my BMX a year and a half ago. Best decision ever! Hugs and kisses. I will be thinking about you on Monday.
-
Mag- we will be thinking of you on Monday as you prepare for your surgery. It sounds like you have your treatment plan set up post surgery.
I live in north central NM. Hatch chilis are by far the most popular here, but they grow them all up and down the Rio Grande Valley. Nothing better than the smell of roasting chilis in the fall.
Cami- getting nails done! Whoot whoot!
Hope everyone has a good saturday.
-
wirdgirl118, welcome!
magdalene, have a restful weekend!
-
wirdgirl, welcome from me too.
Happy Weekend everyone.
-
hi everybody! Wishing you a wonderful weekend. Whatever you can or cannot accomplish today, it's all good!

-
Sort of the way I feel with some work situations and former friendships since it all went down.....
Love you all!
-
Sorry!
*Hugs*
-
Teka- no reason to be sorry. I finally figured out what my priorities are!
-
Hi Ladies,
Sorry been gone for a while. Trying to get everything ready for this week. Having surgery on Monday and I've been going crazy cleaning since I know my husband won't do much of it while I am laid up for a couple days. I don't know why, but been going thru this nesting phase, very strange, I didn't go thru this the first time. I guess I am assuming that right after surgery I will start some sort of treatment plan, not sure which will be first, radiation or chemo. I so don't want to go thru chemo again, it was really hard the first time. Anyway, hoping you are all having a great weekend
-
Basia ... sending (((hugs))) ... and good thoughts for Monday ... when you can, let us know how you are doing ... we will be thinking of you.
-
Basia- sending you positive energy for your surgery on Monday. Sounds like you have been down this road before. Hopefully you won't have to do chemo again.
We will be here as you go through this and waiting on the other side to be here as you recover.
I did a lot of cleaning and preparing before my surgery. I live alone so no one to do it but me. If you have problems eating after (I usually do after surgery, loss of appetite), those protein drinks are a really good way to get nutrition in.

Wirdgirl- forgot to say welcome to our thread.
Teka- how cute is that! Now here to find a pink tutu......
-
Monday surgery ladies...hang in there. Big Hugs and healing thoughts.
Welcome Wird
I was a total slouch yesterday, but I had worked the night before and it rained and rained.
Today I wake up and the sun is in all it's glory. Needs to warm up a bit. Not complaining.
Off to do some of my own housecleaning. and Hopefully get a walk in too!
Wishing everyone a very relaxing and happy SUNday
-
Good Morning Hermits!
I'm going to continue with a lazy weekend.
Monday, will be the start of the painting the kitchen walls project.
*magdalene & Basia*
Please have a relaxing day, calm evening, and restful night!
-
Thank you ladies. Your encouragement means so much.
I have looked at the thread about preparing for surgery and it just was too much to take in for me. Any quick suggestions, what do I absolutely have to have in my go bag?
-
I agree with all of that, Jazzygirl. I used to be sociable with everyone but I really don't know how many good years I've got (b.c. aside), and life's too short to tolerate people who suck the life out of me.
-
gum, trashy gossip magazine, wet wipes, glasses case if you wear glasses, .....
-
I wore pajamas and slippers (UGGS of course) to the hospital. And an adult diaper.
-
magdalene wet wipes toothbrush, baggy shirt to go home in, a peg to clip the drain to your skirt or trousers, good luck
-
Mag- the ladies here have given you good practical advice.
The only other thing I will share is that I said a prayer and asked to bless all the people who would be taking care of me from the surgeon, to the nurses, to the techs, as well as any help from family and friends after. Let go and let god, so to speak.
-
I had 3 drains so I used a lanyard to clip all 3 together so I could carry or wear for walks& shower. I had a little zip make up bag (for my tray table or to keep in the side of my bed) with my lip moisturizer, hand sanitizer, travel size mouthwash, toothbrush and paste in. I also had my ear buds, charger and phone with pandora and some CDs downloaded. I would tape the charger and ear buds to my bed or bed stand so I wouldn't lose them or I could easily plug in. Could not have lived without my music in those early days. I really did listen to it all of the time. I took tanks, shorts and easy cotton items I could easily get in and out of. I was not doing buttons (I know people live by those shirts), My PS told me I would need loose fitting pants, so I bought larges to accommodate and I could roll them down past my incision. I also had cotton sundresses I could slip down and off for going home in style. I swore I would only wear jammies for bed, so each day in the hospital I dressed in my clothes. Sat up for all of my meals and walked after meals and before bed. I had a DIEP recon with a single Mx.I was in on a Wed and out on a Sun so all of this made sense for me. If your stay will be shorter you wont's need as many clothes as I did of course. HAHAHAH.
I found the more you take the less you need to pack back up. After such a long surgery I could not and did not read anything! I did not have the concentration factor. So magazines, books and the like were useless. I could not even look at my computer or Kindle for more than 10 min at a time. I had my Kindle with me for my second hospital stay which was nice for music and looking on facebook. LOL!
I wish you surgery ladies a smooth recovery.
Take your colace (twice a day)/senna every night ladies. Narcotics can really bind you up!!!!start as soon as you can hold down your fluids!!

Teka- love that. Seen it on FB before.
Good morning at yoga, then healthy eats from the farmers market and health food store came home with me today. I now have an Italian stuffed pork roast (stuffed with prosciutto, cheese, a bit of spinach) in the oven roasting with mixed potatoes.
I hope everyone has had a decent weekend. Positive energy coming to the two ladies here heading into surgery tomorrow.
