I got a summons for jury duty while doing chemo. My MO filled out the papar, I was dismissed. Didn't want to anyway.
-
Me too told them bout the oxygen, they dismissed me too. MOOO
-
Onco- good luck with the jury duty. It can be a hassle, or you can find yourself on an interesting trial. You sound ready and will be very nicely dressed too, I might add.
Got some bad news yesterday that has me feeling sad. A friend's god daughter was gunned down by the police here (we have a huge issue going on with this right now in the city) and my sister's partner fell and broke multiple toes in her feet. The world was a hard place yesterday for some folks in my life I care about.

Passing around many warms hugs.........

Jazzy what a horror story, I'm so sorry, that's such a hard shock to try to digest.
And what a fall to break toes, u don't hear that to often. Sad week/
-
Hi hermits- thanks for the kind words. I ordered my sister in law some of those delicious pears from Harry and David today and having those sent to those to her/them to enjoy. A little something I can do and that I know they will appreciate. We are all supposed to be meeting up back east for a family gathering/party/reunion in July, so hopefully she will heal up and be able to travel by then. She has a genetic form of muscular dystrophy, so her mobility is not good, and this has been one of several falls she has had, this one resulting in broken things. It could have been worse (leg, arm, wrist, hip, you name it).
I don't have any info on the memorial service for the young woman who was gunned down this week. The friend is on FB with me, and I expect we will hear more soon. We played in a salsa group several years back for a special event here. I feel I need to try to stop by for this if I can. The young woman who lost her life was only 19.
Onc- glad to hear you have been in the gardens. Me too. Yay for violets! I planted some lovely phlox and evening primrose tonight. I will post some photos soon!
-
I think u garden peeps are good, it gives u some relaxation and u see u'r rewards. I wish I enjoyed that.
I', planning on going to lunch today with a couple of my GFs and my sister and cousin, so I'm looking for ward to that. It's not beautiful out but it's OK--I'm just happy to see them, and I can pick up my voicemail after so it all works out.
I hope everyone has a decent day.
-
Cami- enjoy your lunch with your family and friends! Tell us all the good things you had to eat!
-
Jazzy so sorry n cammie hope u had a wonderful time
-
Blondie- how are you feeling?
Been doing some work from home this week and getting apts for broken things at home tended to. Got a computer company coming tomorrow at noon as well as someone to look at the drip system that seems to have a big old leak. Made a whole bunch of apts for eyes and annual physicals this summer. Some days I just feel like the hamster on the wheel.....
How is everyone else doing out there this week? Busy in the gardens? Enjoying the spring?
-
That's me on the sax and the flute!
-
Can you believe I was offered a 5 star restaurant or a Chli Dog from Freddy's burgers for my birthday....................Which is today..............guess which one I picked...............you got it Freddy's.............love Chili Dogs......its like Filet Mignon to me...........LOL....A little bit of heaven.....
-
Happy Birthday Ducky! That Freddie's meal looks divine!
-
Jazzy....................Oh........it is.............doess't take much to keep me happy.........LOL
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUCKY
-
I hate to complain, but that's exactly what I'm doing. I have breast amputation, 6 months of chemo, 6 weeks of daily rads, and NEVER go to bed. DH has a Spring allergy, takes 2 days off work and goes to bed like he's dying. Men can be such WIMPS!!!
-
Ducky u made a wise choice, I would have made the same one.
Jazzy I like u'r "little" band there. LOL
I had a great time yesterday and just lots of fun and laughing at our boobless group and who looks the best. hqahaha I came home about 5PM and had to catch up on work things then I got so tired it was recockulous and went to sleep early only to wake up during the night and I've been on and off sleeping since then So I just need to go to Walgreens today and get some stuff..
-
Happy Birthday Ducky. I think I would have picked the chili dog too.
Cami, glad you had fun yesterday.
Jazzy, awhile ago you mentioned getting caught up on annual appointments. I am trying to do that too. My pneumonia has interrupted my planning, but I am hoping that it's in retreat. These last two weeks have been stressful. I have never had pneumonia before. I am feeling some energy returning today ... what a blessing!
-
Cami....thanks so much..........I'm not thinking about turning 79.......I'm thinking about how close I am to 80........OMG that sounds old........I really am the oldest on here...........LOL
Sally, thank you, and yes I would rather have a Chili dog with cheese and onions anyday then the best steak out there.............I am a cheap date.........LOL
-
Ducky, I am 70 and not nearly as active as you. You are an inspiration to me ... seriously.
The hermits are giving me goals to reach for like finding a volunteering activity. I think I shut down after my diagnosis. Thank you all.
Oh, Cami's home based computer job could be fun too. I like the idea of being able to work in my nightie.
-
Sally.........give it time........it all comes together after a while.....I am 3 years now, and try hard not to think about it, if it wasn't for the lousy Letrozole and the joint pain, I would feel great..........have thought about going off it..........just can't bring myself to do it........and I refuse to take anymore drugs.......especially anything that makes me "goofier" then I already am..........LOL.....
One day at a time.............when you think about it......what other choice do we have............hugs.
-
My grandaughter plays softball......she is a pitcher, and very good.......I never miss her games, nor did I with the other 18 grands even when I had to travel far by car to see them play.............
Last night with the wind here in the Philly suburbs it was 40 degrees..........the wind was howling at 40 MPH.........I sat in the bleachers and thought............I must be nuts........79 tomorrow, and here I am out in the windy cold weather watching a baseball game................I said to my daughter.............."where do you suppose most 79 year old broads are right now"...................she said........either in bed, or in their robe on the sofa drinking a hot cup of tea..............LOL.
The cancer has slowed me down some, but it will never stop me...............hugs.
-
