When I get just so hungry I lose my manners. Cami, did you do something that required an apology? Because I didn't see it
-
Hi hermits- I am glad to be to friday! This girl needs some downtime once again. Got a bit of work, along with some other things to do today.
Cami- I am so sorry the D has taken over. I know you are drinking a lot of fluids, but you may be at risk for dehydration. I don't want to see you end up in the hospital for that. But on the other hand, if the other docs are not helping you, a trip to the ER may be the only thing left to get attention around this? Keeping you in my prayers today my friend.
Ducky- glad things are turning from snow to rain. My NJ friend who was here last weekend told me the same on e-mail this morning.
Teka- working on my second cup of pinon coffee this morning. I may make myself a breakfast treat today with some lox and bagels I have in the fridge.
Wishing everyone a good weekend, whatever you are doing. April is coming up soon!

The weeping cherry in full bloom late last week. It's starting to wane now, and my only flowering tree (planted in the memory of my father). I planted in memory of him as we used to have one in our yard in CT where I grew up and always would look at it together when it bloomed in the spring.
-
camillegal,
You're always a *POSITIVE KIND MEMBER* on the threads.
Thank You!!
*Hugs*
-
Jazzy, I just remembered the following------------------------
Gram then Mom then Me, a passed down red rose bush in the backyard. Tough old rose bush.
Fond Memories!!
*I'll public post a photo this Summer*
-
Teka u'r so sweet--I've been complaining all morning-----
Oh talking about trees there are a few that bloom for like a week or 2 then just turn to leaves and their beauty is gone (to me) I wish they would stay blooming for a long period. I don't know th name and if u get it all over but in May there is a tree here that the whole tree is deep purple for about a month and it's my favorite one the color is so pure, then it just gets leaves again. I always remember the houses that have that tree and go to enjoy it every yr.
-
Jazzy...your friend is right......it is raining now.....will rain much heavier tomorrow 1-3 inches, and will carry over into Sunday, and early Monday.......Imagine if this was snow.........Temps are warming up, but I'm sure not for good........
My grandaughter has her first softball game on April 1st....she plays for 2 teams and is a pitcher, and a 2nd baseman........this girl if amazing...she is only 13, and already 5ft. 6.....no one believes her age......on 1st base they call her stretch.......nothing gets by her.....can't wait to see her play again....its been a long winter.....Here she is.......her name is Makayla........
-
camillegal, *getting back to you*
I love the beauty & fragrance of old fashion lilacs in the Spring!
-
Thought you would like this one too!
-
-
Cami, so sorry that your D is sticking around. I am worried that you can't eat.
Jazzy, turquoise toes sound bouncy ... and happy ... perfect for future Friday dances a la Teka's penquins. Where are you going on the next trip?
Ducky, have fun with the pup.
I just awoke ... not sure what I will do this weekend. Since I am retired, I feel like all days are week end days.
-
Hey Cami....just saw your advice about vitamin E....will certainly try it...from what I hear vitamin E and C are good for the skin........thanks for thinking about me.....The worst one is on my shin, and I am not sure what procedure she will use......I am hoping for Mohs.......it takes forever if they have to keep cutting, but it is the best according to all I have read, and all the advice I have gotten from so many caring friends on this and other threads..........hope things change for you.....and as much as we hate hospitals don't allow yourself to get dehydrated, and maybe your daughter is right......
I know your test is important but even more important is you getting back on track, and sometimes the IV is the fastest way to get back your fluids and your strength.......
Weather here is lousy too, but as I said to Jazzy...at least it isn't snow.........so you be good to yourself.........

Sally- I am going to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I went to grad school 30 years ago at the Univ. of Texas at Arlington and still have some good friends who live in that area. One of my besties, who lives in Fort Worth, wanted me to come celebrate birthdays together (we are March babies) but with schedules, beginning of April was better. There is going to be a joint birthday party (4/5) at one of our favorite places near the university that was part of our stomping grounds back in the 1980s. A little trip down memory lane and some of the best times of my life!
The friend mentioned above came out to help me in AZ, when I went to have the internal radiation treatments there. Part of this trip is for her to see me, and that I am doing well a year later post treatment. Photos and the like are fine, but people really do need to see you in person after the worst of it that they go through with you. I am taking she and her husband out for a nice dinner too as a special thank you. And she is getting a super nice birthday present too!
The only part that is looking a bit iffy right now is a planned trip to stay in the Dallas area to see an old friend (also supporter) upon my arrival. I used to work with him in the 1980s in the oil industry. Both myself my friend having the party have been trying to reach he and his wife, with no success so far. He knew I was coming out for a visit, we talked about it late last year, but has also had some recent health challenges again. He is severely diabetic and we are worried something is not right. I am giving it until this Sunday, when I will cancel my plans to go stay in Dallas overnight and just spend all my time in Fort Worth. There is always a chance he may surface and may want to come to the party too. We remain hopeful.
I leave next Thursday 4/3 and return sunday afternoon 4/6. Nice long weekend visit! Its a quick trip between NM to TX.
-
Got this from my next door neighbor this morning...this was sunset at the end of our street last night.....that is the Cape May Lewes Ferry in the picture.......
-
Jazzy, I hope your diabetic friend turns out to be fine.
When I last posted I had only seen the previous page. Ugh ... I hate when I forget to check if a new page has been started and my post ends up in the middle of it.
Ducky, are both your homes on the water?
Teka, I lilacs too. My butterfly bush which blooms from mid-summer on keeps the lilac color in the yard but not the wonderful scent.
-
Sally..........no, my shore home is close to the water.......This is the end of my street at my beach house...........my home in the Philly suburbs is not, but directly behind my house at the end of the yard is a running brook, and the entire back is wooded.....my home backs up to Collenbrook Farm, which is a historical 1862 Farmhouse and is declared a historical site, so nothing can be built behind my home....it is beautiful in all 4 seasons......................Below is Collenbrook Farm directly behind my home in the Philly suburbs..
-
Pretty pics from everybody today. I miss lilacs in the spring
-
Oh Ducky, beautiful photos and beach home to boot! How lovely. I miss living near the water (grew up in CT). I can't wait to go back east this summer for some family time in CT/RI!
-
-
Onco..............can I pick you brain........when you Achilles' tendon acts up where does it hurt, and what kind of pain do you get.............my 13 year old grandaughter is complaining about her foot.......she is a pitcher and comes down hard on it when she releases the ball...........she is worried, and nothing seems to help....heat, cold, whatever...........I think my daughter is truly gong bonkers cause this kid always has an ache......it is her knee, her thumb......now her heel........
I thought plantar fascitis, but it is more the back of the heel and ankle then under the heel..........LOL...........thanks........
-
Onco- I am not sure about one legged bike riding. When I am feeling like my joints won't support a good walk, bike ride, etc. I get in the pool. You can always swim with just about any joint issue. Do you have a pool available to you? Maybe at a nearby YMCA/YWCA? Swimming has always been a favorite exercise of mine, but really become much more important as things have changed.
Thanks for calling me the "exercise queen!" LOL!
-
Ducky, I enjoyed reading the historical marker. Both of your homes have beautiful settings. When away from home, I take pics of historical markers. It's a great way for me to remember or review the historical setting that I have visited.
Onco, I hope that your foot heals quickly. Awhile ago when I had some foot problems, I purchased a pair of Dansko professional shoes (not the clogs). At the time, I believed that the shoes speeded up my recovery. I still put my Danskos on when my feet give me twinges.
-
Ducky u GD is beautiful--could she possibly have a spur in her foot--I think that affects the heal, not sure.
Yes jazzy u are the queen and u can sure travel all over the place. I hope u hear from your friend and all is well.--U have a load of friends all over the place. U must deserve them.
Everyone is waiting for spring--well it's coming, not yet tho.
Thanks Teka

Hermits- I went to see my massage therapist for a short shoulder and foot massage. She gave me today's session as a gift for my birthday. The birthday goes on and on!
This photo came of a series of pics shared on FB. It just took my breathe away so I had to share it. I put it as the background on my computer so I can see it every day.
-
Another photo that came up on FB today, a castle in Tuscany across the way from the villa I stayed at on a yoga retreat back in 2009. This place pulls on me to return to some day!
-
Lovely Photos!!
-
Jazzy, Cami, Sally........Thanks for your kind words............I am blessed
-
Jazzy my grandaughter is going to Italy the day after Easter.........her husband surprised her with the trip......she named all the places she is going, I do remember Tuscany, Venice, Rome, and there were more..............
Cami.....we have thought of everything it could be...my daughter is going to take her to a Podiatrist.....her baseball season is just beginning, and she plays for 2 teams.....she practices her pitching all year, and gets pitching lessons from a professional pitcher.......I feel so bad for her........
Sally......yes the views from not far away are wonderful.....nothing more beautiful then the sunset over the water..........here are a couple more..........
-
Beautiful photos Ducky. The shore and sunsets, nothing better!
Your grand daughter will have a wonderful time. I went to Rome and Sicily my first time there. Then everywhere in Tuscany the second time including Florence, Sienna, San Gimiannano, Volterra, and more. Love Italy!
-
She is really looking forward to it.............She has been trying to get pregnant and has a very stressful job, especially this time of the year.......She is a CPA.........hopefully maybe she will be lucky and get an Italy baby.............I hope for her sake......she is a little worried....been trying for a year.......
You are right there is nothing like a sunrise, or a sunset......each one is different....I have many pictures of it......it is funny how we race down to the beach to catch it as it happens........more sunsets then sunrises......LOL.........I can't wait to get back down.....so tired of cold weather........we will probably open the pool the end of May.......I am sure the water is still frozen....LOL........it is a big pool 20x42, but we have had some brutal weather down there too........it probably won't warm up till August.....LOL...
