I always order a hot turkey sandwich for lunch in a local restaurant. Delicious!

But, we only have a Thanksgiving roasted turkey and all the fixings at home.

We pig out on the leftovers for a week.

Might try a deep-fried turkey next summer. Outside!

I've always loved Sean Connery!! And yes, he is still hot!!

All my family is in CA so I go to a friend's house for the Holidays. One year her DH made the deep fried turkey and it was luscious! And I am not a big turkey fan.

I am so with you grannydukes I hate this time change!!

Welcome to new voices, and hugs to each hermit. Thank you each for birthday wishes. Time just zips by. Even my kiddos at school comment on each class period--is it really time to go already? (And our classes are 100 minutes long.) Time is too precious to go so quickly...

Jazzy... still ouchy feet here. Tried your yoga ideas, but not sure I'm giving them justice. Also am trying KT tape, and it seems to help a bit. Glad your break is going so well. (Color me green.)

Camille... wish I could sit in flannels and share a cup of tea. Quietly hermiting together sounds good right now.

Lynn... so many, many introverts here. I am one of those who shared my bc info with very few. I did not want the attention, pity parties, sad oh-poor-you faces, pink outs, etc. turning the spotlight toward me. Any decision you make is what is comfortable for you. We each have to sacrifice the role of giver that we've taken on for years, and have to learn to accept and receive. It's humbling, but necessary for conserving energy. As others have said, welcome and so glad you're among safe and loving lovely women. Lots of info shared, shoulders offered, and humor to boost us all.

Thanks Skittle. I agree it is a humbling disease- from the diagnosis forward, in almost every way. I would like to keep some dignity with all of this going on in my body. When I go out, I try to keep my chin up and head held high, but it's hard on the psyche. Can't do it all the time and sometimes just want to curl up in a ball....Thank goodness I can let these feelings out sometimes on this board.

I live in a very small town and there are just a few people that know of my dx. I am a private person and the fewer that know the better. The first few times I ventured out after my BMX I was nervous and cautious. It didn't take long to realize that no one really noticed I was now flat. It is cold here now so vests and scarves don't cause any notice. It only took a couple times out in public to realize this and it was amazingly freeing! I am actually more comfortable going flat than with the 'foobs". As far as I am concerned it is no ones business but mine whether I have "foobs/boobs/or am flat!!!!!!

grammaB, I see you are from Montana, so you must be up late or up after sleeping some. I am up in the middle of the night too. My nighttime wandering has been going on for sometime, since before my dx. I was diagnosed less than 2 weeks ago. Knowing who to tell was causing me some concern, but this group is helping me with that. I hope you get some good rest tonight.

Sally, always feel comfy here we might kid about things, but we're serious too. This disease is crazy and no 2 people react or take it the same way even with the exact same DX we learn to go with it and share whatever u want to whoever u want--but u can always come here and share anything--we all get it--every emotion possible someone has or had here, so feel free.

I think I need to take a shower soon

Well welcome to Our Gal Sal.......great group of ladies.......been with this devil for 2 1/2 years, but just joined The Hermits about 1 month ago, on the advice of our "Firecracker"........,you will meet her soon......

I usually tell all Newbies that I am the oldest, funniest, smartest, prettiest, sexiest, on the thread,....(quiet Firecracker), but I will stiffel myself, and let the others sing my praises.......lol

Good a Morning Lynn.........hope your having a good day so far......getting colder in the Philly area......brrrrrr.....Lord I hate cold weather........and it's only in the 40's.......lol.......guess I'm a wimp...

My son and his family are doing the Pancreatic cancer ."walk" today at 8am.....in memory of my husband echo list his 2 1/2 year battle with the disease.........hopefully they dressed warm.....

The older I get, the more I don't like the cold weather. The only good part about it is hot chocolate!

I did not know about your husband, I am so sorry. How old was he? That is such a nice thing for your son to do for him-especially in the cold.

Good morning all. Thanks for the warm welcome. My lumpectomy and SNB are next Wednesday. Since today is to be a sunny 60 degrees, I am planning some fall yard time.

Lynn....he was 57.....shock of my life....healthy, handsome never sick, construction worker....woke up xmas day 1988 with yellow eyes.....the rest is history...7 hour surgery, chemo and Rads 3 months before he died......there was no hope, it is a killer cancer.........my son just called...they are done...said it was nice.....it was him, his wife, his 3 children, their husbands, and his 3 grandaughter's, ages 2 "twins", and 4 months.......and our new baby still inutero...".lol

Sally....I did lump...and SNB.....it was no big deal, and the easiest part of this whole deal......I had a great BS, and recovered well....was walking around the house the same day, right after I got home......other then the anesthesia I could have driven myself.....lol....so relax (if you can).........I know.....easy for me to say, but I smile being honest based on my experience.......hugs

Before, I washed living room bow window & heavy drapes / kitchen sliding glass door & heavy drapes. No climbing up & down or reaching above head after lumpectomy & SNB.

Don't be shy asking for help around the home!
