Sweet Lady!! -
Oh Teka that was good.
-
another one down, so sorry...
-
O lori, i am sorry for your sadness, and her passing. that is really hard. i know that there are women on here that i would absolutely bawl if i heard that. cause you really get to love someones voice, wisdom, sense of humor, spelling, fotos, and all of there personality that shines through here. ok, they might not be within a huggable distance, but it still hurts. love to all, and cami, isnt there someone that can help you post photos? i have never been able to figure out how you guys do that. -
Kath I'm trying--I get 1/2 there on my own then whap it stops me. WTF=Personally I think it's a conspiracy LOL
-
I know! & plus i just can't wait to see what you can't wait to show us! gotta run, that man is pretending like we are in vegas, and ordering up some "room service" ;{} !!!! i told him to go ask a cab driver. -
hhhh -
right now I don't think ANY body can post pics. There has been an "upgrade". The mods say IT is aware. -
Spookie there are quite a few that can post, trying to teach me, altho trying to teach me is like trying to teach an orange to talk. I just get 1/2 and I'm lost--some are saying Google Chrome, but again I don't know that stuff==Maybe if I started using a computer years ago I would have caught on better---when I worked the computer was only an in-State computer, so sure I could find out about people in ILL but there was no Internet, probably cuz we'd all be on it.We did have email tho cuz we needed that for people contacting us so that I took full advantage of--but I didn't know anything and I don't know much more now. And doing what I do surprises me and when I learned how to print, now that magic is gone for me/Chit
Oh I have a Drs. app't in the morning and I have no ride, I'm so mad at myself I should have made it later in the day but I thought I could get a ride--everyone is busy that isn't working which is only 2 people. Everybody's job gets in my way. -
So sorry to her about julie, as for all your conversations re semi techie stuff I am l o s t....... -
Lily I'm Lost too. totally/
-
Today, I had PCP visit with no scolding for ongoing weight gain, but 4th follow-up Hemoglobin AlC to check for diabetes. Diabetes will sneak-up!
Also, got a flu shot ;o) -
hi, teka cat! did you always get a flu shot? i never have, and i never get the flu. saw my pcp,he said get one, but i dont want to. i never got flu even during active tx, and dont really want to start now. yuck. good luck on no diabetes!! : ]] -
I've been getting the flu shot for years.
I even got the shingles shot after done with BC treatments, and hubby getting shingles shot this week.
You should look-up shingles shot on-line.
Different types of immunizations for children & adults are a sore subject in the USA. -
Glad u got all that stuff done Teka, Kath I'm like u--they actually scare me. Well I missed my app't this is crazy, I made anther one of course.
-
Funny flu shots should come up. I have a little band-aid "badge", having had mine just a few hours ago. (The district encourages all teachers to get 'em since our kids bring in everything but homework!) :-)
Conferences are tomorrow night and Thursday night. Oh, joy.
Camille, good luck with your appt. Hope you found a ride.
Hugs to all. -
oh no! shingles vaccine! i have been dreading that conversation with my doc, too. just don't like volunteering, even tho i know it is smart to avoid more suffering later. maybe camillegal and i can dare each other? and then ill chicken out, making her very very brave and good, which i am sure she is, anyway. -
Did any of U ever get shingles????
well years ago i had it...before the beast...I would rather give birth naturally to triplets then ever get the shingles again'
im serious...i was in the hospital for 7 days in isolation...
please get that shot....you will never regret it
BTW you can get shingles over and over again.
After tx in 2010 I ran to get it...counted the days till i was able to get it. -
I feared shingles during BC treatments because of weakened immune system. -
Im glad u got the shot Teka.
I hear the word shingles and i still run even tho I no I cannot ever get it again. -
Sadly, even with the shingles shot you can still get a recurrence of shingles(
Hopefully, not so severe. -
my dr.told me different.
she said i could never get it again.
what do u no that i dont????
now im scared again. -
Several members on the threads were diagnosed with shingles which turned out to be skin cancer.
Now that's a pisser! -
Hi hermits. Reading the discussion here about A1C, flu shots and the rest.
I have been getting the flu shot for years as I am a more risk due to asthma which I have had for years. For someone like me, flu can turn into either bronchitis and/or pneumonia. I am also due for an updated pneumonia shot too,
My sister actually got shingles during her chemo, but not bad. Grannydukes got a bad case of it, so you never know. Most insurance won't pay for it until after you are 60, so I cannot get paid for right now. My PCP checked on that as she thought I should have it. I need to get my flu shot done this week, thanks for the reminder!
Teka- good luck with the A1C test. I always have had good fasting blood glucose but my doctor started last year with the first A1C, and then again this year. Last year was elevated, this year it hit the bottom number to be considered diabetic. I have been doing a lower carb diet for a month now and have lost 8 pounds so far. My doctor has me on a 45 grams of carbs per meal, 15 grams per snack and it is working. I feel a lot better too. I am trying to exercise some every day too. Tonight I went to the gym on the way home from work and pumped some iron.
Cami- sorry you missed your apt. How is the D situation? Are you still struggling with that? I hope you are feeling better.
Watching The Voice tonight and working on a status report for my project. -
None of my doctors would make that statement. -
Are you still glad you came to this thread ;o) -
ok. i dont want shingles. how much is it for a shot? i am 53. hey thanks for info, jazzy, i didn't even know that they had a shot for pneumonia. my next to last herceptin tomorrow, i will ask if they give shots there. all right! good job on making it to the gym too. something i have yet to do. just walking. people DO walk in LA! and run and swim and all sortsa stuff, just not me. where is lori -
Oh Granny it's horrible--my mom had it a couple of times and she said pretty much what u did, my cousin had it not to long ago too. I don't know why I hate shots so much for these diseases-not shots in general but good shots. Kath believe me I'd be the chicken.
Skittle weren't u off today and it's funny Joey's conferences are Tues, nite and Thurs. to around here. Oh all the time u put in, I don't think a lot of people realize that. All I ever did was volunteer 1 afternoon a week for my girls and I didn't even like that, only cuz my kids thought it was cool. Well I didn't. Well it's been a crazy day I hope tomorrow is better.
And I truly hope u all have a decent day tomorrow. And Jazzy no matter what u'r doing a good job with u'r health-- -
yes Teka im glad i came to this thread.
BTW i had shingles on 1 side of my face including my eye....
if one sista learns something from this im a happy person.
and now ill say good nite....Its been a long day
xo Grannydukes aka FireKracker -
