Dianarose-Thoughts and prayers are with you that it all goes smoothly and that it won't be near as bad as you are anticipating.

Healing energy, and virtual hugs Dianarose!
-
Dianarose , loving hugs to you .. im in ur pocket !

Dianarose I hope chemo goes easy for you. I'm thinking of you. My doc said I had drains for so long because I have a tissue sling that is like alloderm in my body. I guess the foreign tissue makes things wacky in the body. I technically should still have them in but I couldn't take it anymore and they kept getting holes. I hope I don't end up with a seroma.
Thanks flmom! -
So glad your drain free Markat! That was a happy day for me!
Dianarose, Good luck with your chemo!
-
Hope chemo went well, as well as it could, Dianarose.
-
Thinking about you Dianarose! I hope it went well today.

Survived round one. 11 more infusions and 246 chemo pills to go. Not like I am counting or anything. The worst part was the nurse put the IV in my bone. I told her it wasn't right. She didn't believe me until a ball was apprearing on my arm. She did the same thing the 2nd time so she got someone else for round 3. No nausea so far, just some acid reflux. I ate and took a nausea pill and waited 30 minutes this morning and then took the 3 chemo pills. Oh ya, to top it off I got my period this morning. Hopefully the chemo will start to shut down the dam ovaries and this will be the last one. I am too old for this crap. I was surprized that the chemo was not a drip. She pushed both through my IV. It took about 20 minutes. It made me really nervous.
Lisamarie- I hope you and your TE's are making peace with each other. I go for another fill tomorrow and I really look forward to it. I love the way my new boobs are coming out. They are going to be bigger and perkier than the old ones. That wil teach them for getting cancer.
.
Hope everyone has a great day. Oh ya, I have a big book shelf in my kitchen that holds all my cookbooks, canning jars of jams, pickles, tomato's , wine glasses, etc... At 11:30 last night it came crashing down. I have broken glass from one end of my kitchen to the other. I am so bummed out. Only the stuff I really, really, liked broke. Even my bottle of Jamaican rum broke.
-
Dianarose so glad the chemo wasn't as bad as you had anticipated. I don't know how the chemo works as far as all the pills and infusions but I hope the future ones are as uneventful. Glad to hear the new boobs are coming along so well- t's the one thing we deserve having gone through all this crap. I can't wait to get started with fills. I've had skin issues so the PS postponed them until she is sure the skin is ready. That's a bummer about all the stuff breaking. Are you sure you didn't knock the shelf over trying to get into that bottle of Jamacan rum; after the day you had no one would blame you for reaching for the bottle-lol It is murphys law isn't it that the stuff you like most breaks-that happened to me 2 weeks ago I had 4 decorative plates and a teapot above a cabinet; one of the plates slid a bit and knocked the glass teapot and my favotite plate to the floor smashing them into a million pieces. It's amazing how far the glass went! Of course my least favorite plates stayed up there. I had just closed the cupboard (obviously a bit too hard) so I'm just glad that I didn't get knocked on the head or cut by the bouncing glass shards. That would have done me in for sure.
-
Glad Chemo went well Dianarose! Here's to more uneventful runs!
-
Oh that's terrible Dianarose. Have you considered a port or picc line? I know more surgery sounds terrible but I don't know what I would have done without my port.
-
The 2nd nurse got it the first time, so I will just request him each time. I just called the doc because I am having a lot of acid reflux, no nausea though. He is calling me in some prilosec so I should be fine.
Ever since round 1 almost 8 yrs ago I have had a high wbc. They would always test me, but never looked into it. Before I was diagnosed this time it was the highest it had ever been. I read that your wbc will go up especially if you have positive nodes because your body will produce more to help fight. Now that I have had the bmx and the 17 positive nodes removed my wbc is normal for the first time in 8 yrs. When I explained this to the MO all he said was hmmmm.
-
That's really interesting Dianarose. My WBC was high when I started neoadjuvant chemo. Then of course it plummeted, but never too low. The acid reflux can actually be a symptom of nausea.
-
We know our own bodies, it's just getting someone to listen to you. In 8 yrs the lowest it was was 12 something and then it went up to almost 15 prior to surgery and now it's a 10. Unfortunetly now I am stage IIIc with 17 positive nodes. If they had listened to me 8 yrs ago maybe things would be different. One doctor told me it was because I needed anti depressants. What an idiot. I wasn't depressed.
-
Glad you weathered Round 1 of Chemo Dianarose! I'm rooting for you from the sideline! re: IV...some nurses just stink at it! When i was in the hospital for my BMX, my wrist hurt me for days because she had put it too low down and it was practically hitting my wristbone. ugh!
feel good!!!!!!
-
Dianarose: Glad you have one down!
-
Wow, why did my font come out so big? It was a big, good wish, but come on!

I have been absent for a while and I see everyone else is getting on with life and/or treatments and life. I am going back to work on Monday and am very excited. I am sure I will be exhausted by a full 8 hour day but I miss the normal in my life. I have been healing well and only have occasional twinges of discomfort. Still have trouble getting up from laying down if I am too far from the edge of the bed (think june bug on its back!!) Still some abdominal swellinng from the TRAM but even that is getting better. Will be happy when it is down and I can wear my jeans. For now it is still sweats or knit pants. I am lucky to be working in a place where what I wear is never an issue. My ROM on the surgery arm is still not what I want, but since the surgery there was such a tramatic issue based surgery almost 40 years ago what I have now may be the best I can get. I may look into PT but will see how it affects my workday. The PS told me I am still limited to 10 lbs lifting (he want to know why I would want to lift more than 10 lbs anyway!!) and I guess that may be as good as it gets. We are looking into a gym membership so, because my work will pay for 1/2 of it but I have never been a joiner or group person, so I am not sure yet.
This group is what has kept me sane for the past 4 months! I am so glad I found you and hope and pray for everyone of you. My sisters!

Congrats on getting back to work Lisamarie! And a 13.5 hour shift, Wow! I do 8-4:30 and an hour commute each way and that is tough. I can't imagine a 13.5 hour shift!
My next fill is tomorrow. I'm having sharp pulling (almost like a pinch but inside) pain on that side. Not all of the time but just a twinge every once in a while. Kind of aggravating! I tried doing some against the wall push-ups and some planks this week and hope I didn't do something. It all feels like it is in the right place. The PS said I have no restrictions but if something hurts not to do that move again right away.....so frustrating!
GmaNiki, Great your getting back to work! Hope all goes great tomorrow.
-
Hi all, so tomorrow is round two for me. Back to surgery at 8am to have an ALND. I am more nervous this time compared to before the BMX. Maybe it's cuz I know how much that surgery hurt and don't want to go through that pain again. Or, it could be because it is just plain scary to think about having my lymph nodes taken out. But, I do know that eventually the pain subsided and I will be cleared of all cancer (I hope).
I hope you are all recovering well. See you "on the other side"...again.
Kristi

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow Keonghi. Take lots of pain meds!

GamNiki: good luck going back to work and feel good. I think the gym thing is picking the right place. I alway felt really intimdated by the girls who have perfect bodies but yet they are working out in a group classing. I'm also thinking I want to join a gym and will try to look for one which has a mixture of people young and old like me! In the meantime I'm just walking walking; it's slowm moving but I'm doing it.
Feel good to all!!!! Have a great week
-
