Susan, I am trying hard to get a general eating plan together, but one of my first decisions was that crazy extreme would not be sustainable for me.

Most of the time when we go out, we eat in regular Greek tavernas. This means that there is always something OK to eat. But the other night was a special treat, so I wasn't about to nix the chocolate souffle.

AM I had a green tea (and then coffee) with some muesli and skim milk, as well as two mandarins.

Lunch was a large green salad of mache and boston lettuce, with a side of hummus and some raw veggies for dipping.

Afternoon snack, herb tea and a pear.

Dinner will probably be out, so I will have some fish and veggies.

Momine-I have visited Greece, so familiar with the food there.  For some reason, I think you will have an easier time than us Americans.  Problem here is portion control mostly.  Even when we have good intentions, the calories can creep up if we are not careful.  My husband is
European (French) so I am constantly being re-trained in eating properly-stopping before I become full, taking small amounts to start, then seconds only when still hungry.  I have a sweet tooth, so avoiding temptation is also a challenge for me.

Only wish we lived near fresh fish!  Have to settle for the well-traveled versions...

Boring day (foodwise) with low fat soups, multi crackers, salads w/o dressing and the ever present wasa.  Snacked on 1/2 cup of air popped popcorn and a palmful of raw almonds.  Green tea.  Overall, I'm feeling good about my choices but in definite need of a couple new recipes and some motivation.

Green smoothies for breakfast, brown rice and sauteed mushrooms (last nights' leftovers) for lunch, Yoghurt snack and Kim Chee (spiced cabbage, spinach, courgettes) with tofu and brown rice for dinner.

Enjoying the food and looking forward to the delights ahead of me.

    Happy eating ladies : )

Susan, the biggest advantage, diet-wise, of living here is that most regular, Greek restaurants have some kind of broiled fish on the menu always and several veggie dishes, including what the Greeks call "boiled salad," an assortment of steamed veggies served with lemon and olive oil, as well as salads of course.

You all have me craving a greek salad now!

Today will be a boring day. Green tea, salad (maybe Greek!) for lunch, omega 3 eggs with mixed mushrooms, tumeric, salt/pepper, & hot sauce or dinner. Still trying to get rid of things in the fridge.  Can you tell we had too many eggs?  Again, I am the only one eating them.

Good idea Corinne.  I just decided to have egg whites for lunch. Dinner tonight is whole grain veggie enchiladas, using sweet potato, jalapenos, roasted corn and black beans for the filling. Now, should I use a little cheese or not...hmmm....

Had cheerios and organic skim milk for breakfast.  Hope that is healthy.  I don't like almond milk, it doesn't have nearly the protein of milk or calcium or vitamin D.  Any thoughts?  I don't mind the taste, I just don't like that it has so little protein.  And I don't want to start on soy milk.

Been a bit off this week.  Its been a little stressful around here and when I stress, I don't eat.

Today I tried to get back to normal by having a slice of Ezikiel bread, 2 cuties, mushrooms over whole grain pasta and I am going out to dinner tonight with my son.  Thinking I will get either a veggie burger or fish dish.

Tonight I have settled on Thai.  Sate with brown rice.  I found a very useful tool called Myfitnesspal on the internet.  Has anyone used it?  It syncs up to a phone app, and I have started tracking my food that way.  Today it tracked my food, subtracted my exercise calories and gave me a total number of calories remaining for dinner, how many grams of protein (and other stuff) I have eaten, and what my goals should be.  It's kind of fun.

Yesterday, I did well:  protein shake for breakfast, tuna and greens for lunch, and onion soup with a big beet, walnut, and gorgonzola green salad for dinner.  This morning, oatmeal.

Had egg beaters with jalapenos and some cajun spices and a side of catalope (sp?) for breakfast.  Going to try a Thai pizza for dinner.  Taking a whole wheat tortilla, putting some organic peanut sauce on top, some cole slaw mix, some seasoned chicken breast and a little light mozarella cheese and baking it.  Someone gave me the recipe and it sounds pretty good.

Egg whites seasoned with turmeric and black pepper and multi grain toast with omega 3 spread for brunch.  Snacks included popcorn, oranges and pear with one square dark chocolate.  Dinner was veggie mu shu and tea.

Carolanne good luck with surgery.  My docs told me to eat plenty of protein after surgery/during rads to help tissue heal and regenerate.

with my aching body, have been forgetting to drink enough water and take all my vitamins....I"m climbing back on the horse, yes I fell off again, right on my butt....weirdly I'm looking at food like I did when in chemo - none of it looks good....I"ve got to snap out of this! My routine goes back to normal on Wednesday - see you then.  Can't wait to go back and see all the good stuff you have all been eating.

I have been fighting a cold for 3 days now.  I think I am winning due to vitamins, working out, good food choices, lots and lots of green tea etc.

Also, been told that I am "glowing" by a teammate last week.  Was asked by someone that I haven't seen in awhile if I have been getting botox or other treatments with my PS.

Good food choices are also a motivator--fighting colds and having a dewy complexion at 40?  Keep going ladies!

Had egg beaters with jalapeños and creole seasoning for breakfast again. If I hadn't just turned 49, I'd think i was pregnant. Also had a couple of prunes for bones.

Corinne, good for you! You do not look 40 in your picture.

Gina, extending a hand to get back on the wagon. The holidays and kids home make it hard, I know. Forget about it, and just come on back on!
