INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

My first grandchild. Her name is Mina. She's so sweet.
I am so far behind on here. I'm just so busy and y'all talk a lot. I'll try to catch up some tomorrow.
-
Dutch, She's beautiful. What a lot of hair! DD was born with lots too and never lost it.
-
Oh my goodness!!! How precious!!! Looks like she is looking for food aka. Momma's breasts.
Goats, hydroccodone doesn't do anything for me either. It just makes me crazier than I already am
-
Dutchie- OOOhhh what a sweet baby! That's a really pretty portrait too! Did they get it done professionally? I like her name too, Mina. Congrats! Wonderful to be a Grandma! You are lucky!!
Spookiesmon- The PT I saw was a specialist in lymphadema at the cancer center I went to, certified and all. He did manage to get my arm way down and into a sleeve. He would massage the arm up, then across my chest and to the abdomen since there is a "collection" area of lymph nodes in your belly. It worked. I do not have it as bad as you do, since I can bend my arm, can't reach too high (that's more scar tissue adhesions on my chest) but the upper arm is much bigger then my right. (aconsequence of my stop wearing the sleeve.) I massage it myself and put it up on pillows at night. it's a pain in the arm! I would keep with the machine and see if time helps. Damn shame that insurance didn't get it too you sooner.
Luvgoats- your poor DH! the dental sorrows sound just miserable. I hope he gets pain relief. I am sorry to hear Patty's back in the hospital. Marley is probably tired from radiation and work. Susan I hope your Mom gets what she needs.
Have a great holiday weekend.
-
Goatlie - sorry about your husbing's dental stuff. I liked your story of the bill box really being the goat box.
Dutchysharon - that is one sweet baby!
I had to talk to my insurance company today. I had to spend about 2 hours getting my shite together to know the questions I needed to ask. Then I spent 45 minutes on the phone with a very nice young man at the insurance company. Well, maybe he seemed nice because I was picturing him as one of those half-nekkid firefighters from a couple of pages back. Anyway I now need to call the provider with the scoop on what I found out. It may save me $4500 in denied charges. I'm glad too! I would hate to sell my car to pay up.

Aw geez....... she's envisioning some hot guy nekked as a jay-bird. When EYE do that, I just start laughing. See? I TOLD you guys she's up to her old tricks...... literally. Don't you just LOVE men with those hot voices? And with some sort of Italian accent? Just drop your coat, stand on that chair, leave your hat on, and LISTEN to old what's his name sing that song....

Beautiful little baby girl Dutchess!
Yes, since I have been doing soft upward massages, it seems to be helping a LOT! I think the cream, and then pushing with my fingertips "up" from my ankle, helps the lymphatic system work! My skin got so tight around my calf and ankle.... and now it is "normal" and isn't blotchy. You know, when I mentioned this to my PC, it wasn't this bad... and she just said "Edema".... But I don't think she knows chit from shinola! I had been wearing compression stockings off and on, for about 5 years.... and maybe it was Edema, but after my leg screw-up, it became something else.
So when I go back in November, I'll maybe tell her my thoughts... of course they HATE when you do your own research.... and fix something!
Spookie, I saw the leg wraps, but from what I figure, it is a "set"... like 2 of them... and they work together....
And yes, those other things WERE for blood-clots in the hospital... they wanted to give me a prescription for these little ampules to inject myself once a day in my stomach to help prevent those when I got home... but after I calmed down, and quit cussing and screaming, they backed off and said.... "okay, sorry.... just make sure you walk all the time." So I made sure I did that... Yes... your innards have to keep running the proper way, or things just get backed up.... I think that's what my leg was doing.
Okay, I'm going to edit a little here..... I had never seen that video I did a couple years ago.... I don't even have a full-length slip..... but you get the idea........

Good morning ladies. Wishing everyone a happy holiday weekend before I go off to play. I have some jazz to play today, spending the day at the hot springs tomorrow, and going to meet a friend for lunch and a small hike on Monday!
Rose- thank you for the compliment on the photos I post. I hope you can get some relief soon from the swelling.
Sassy- I love the new thread you created. I found this one to start. How cool, eh?
-
Dutchie - Mina is just lovely and cuddleliscious. Congratulations.
Phyllo - I never get hot guys when I call my insurance. It surely would make the "wait while I check on that" time go faster. Hoping you get that $4500 denied claims. Geesh.
Jazzy - do you need a friend to accompany you on your play time this weekend?
-
Goats! I never got hot guys either. Then one day I was talking to a computer service tech from heaven knows where and I said "please use small words. I'm old." There was a dead silence for several seconds and then he laughed and said "no, not really?" I was confused and said yep, 63 years old. He told me he was picturing me as a 20-something. We both died laughing That's the day I learned that you need to picture something delicious on the other end of the line! It makes you so much more patient with the guy on the other end.
Of course, I didn't learn that until I was 63, but better late than never, I hope.
Jazzy, have a beautiful trip. It sounds wonderful and makes me want to grab my camera and head out on the road.

One time I told our telephone company guy on the line.... "You know, I'm just too old for this hassle".... I was TRYING to get our rates lowered, because they had gone up $40 MORE! He finally said, "Okay, since you have been with our company for so many years, we'll just put you back on the rates you paid 5 years ago"..... I said "Not only that, I WORKED for you guys when I was 18.... I was a Long Distance Operator before you were even born!"
He just laughed, and said "Don't worry about your rates going up again....If they do, just call".... Don't know what he put on the ticket, but he said something about being one of PhylliG's friends.... and that they are ALL nuts.
-
Chevy - that made me snort snot. Gotta go find a tissue.
-
Hahahahaha.
Just got back from the farmers market (C street) in a city where you used to live, Rose. We are here for swimming competition.
Saw cute garden on the way there.
I found the house where you used to live. Not this one? Is it this one?
-
Luvmygoats- I can always use friends to join me for play time! I am the world's oldest kid! This is where I am going tomorrow. Please don't hate me.....
http://www.gigglingsprings.com/
Loveroflife- all those pictures are so delightful. I am a swimmer so I love the pic of that pool. And the farmers market produce looks yum! I have some from Wed afternoon when I went to cut up and/or cook today!
Phyllis- I am going to take my camera tomorrow. The area I am going to (Jemez Mountains) is just amazing!
-
OK Jazzy I am leaving now, wait for me. As a kid 1-3rd grade we used to fish at Fenton Lake which is just north of there. It was a very new lake then rustic few campgrounds, port-o-lets. This was about 1958-1961. I see it is now a State Park. Lovely up there. DH is getting on the geezer side (turns 65 in Jan) but if his company (sports retailer) had ever built in NM anyplace we'd have asked for a transfer. I met a couple in church visiting a few weeks ago from Las Cruces. And every time I pass a NM license plate I ask myself why did you ever leave God's country?
It appears neighbors down the street have sold their house. I may have to toddle myself out on a walkabout next week when our cooler weather is due. Had an 18 wheeler (tractor only) then tractor + trailer come from down there yesterday. It was dark already and too leafy to see the corner from the front window anyway. The 8 houses on this cul de sac have turned over very little in the 17 years we've been here. Only 2 have, now this will make 3. One was a foreclosure but not so much like your typical foreclosure. Nice house, left nice. My 2 other flanking neighbors who have main road addresses have been here for years. Did run into a friend's daughter when I sat with the declining church member the other night. She works for title co and verified it has been crazy out here and we are well away from the DFW craziness and 2 counties, nearly 3, over from Plano/Frisco where the real boom is.
Loverly - the farmers' market looks delish. And the pool looks cool and rather inviting. Don't know which house was Rosie's but I'd take either one. Yard/gardening is not on my or DH's list of favorite things. But I delight in others' work lol.
-
"Flanking neighbors"?????? Is that what we call neighbors we don't like anymore? Those damn "flanking neighbors?" I kind of like that. My "flanking" neighbors are the chicken ones, and the guy next door, that is almost bigger than his Great Dane! He has a Tattoo on his back, that I think is a life size AMERICAN EAGLE!!!!! He was a Navy Seal.... the one selling his house, but it isn't selling...... So don't know what he is going to do..... He said maybe rent, or find a job to keep it...... Now THERE'S a thought!
Pretty little cottages.... One looks kind of like a "she shed".... I'm still fooling around in the side-garden.... trying to get things organized before the snow starts.......
Loverly, what city do you live in? Near San Francisco? I LOVE that whole area.... never been to Southern Ca...... only as far as Monterey with our girls....
-
Oh no! Your flanking or chicken neighbors changed their minds about selling their house? Sorry Ms. CHEVY.
Oopsy, didn't realize I left out the name of the city. The farmers market is in Davis, where Rose used to live. Davis is 70 miles northeast of San Francisco. I live in Elk Grove which is 95 miles northeast of SF.
Jazzy and Goats, I am joining you.
-
Partay at the hot springs! I will say for any of you taking the blasted AIs, having a good soak once and awhile really helps what ails you! I soak pretty regularly at the hot tub at my gym. Water is my friend......
Luvmygoats- the Fenton Lake area is one of the most beautiful spots anywhere here. Northern NM is a place like no other and I get up that way as often as I can. I would love to retire and live in Taos some day.
-
I skied in Taos. Great place.
Dutchie, beautiful grandchild,
Night night

I tried to edit the last post.... This happened to me about 5 years ago... Master Card called me one night and asked if I just booked airline tickets on Spirit for $1200.... I told her NO, and another one from Florida for $400! My card had been "read" while we were walking at the Mall... They canceled my card, but that was only the beginning of the Identity theft.
Had to report all of this to the agencies like Police Department, credit reporting companies, SS, and the IRS...... Even doing all that, about 6 months later Capitol One called and asked if I was opening up a credit account with them!
So "they" have all of your info.... and it could go on for years.... I don't carry ANY cards with me.... only cash... I just take my card, wrapped in a foil pouch if I am buying a large item....then take it out of my purse when I get home.
If you use your card to get gas, or at the shopping centers, that is the worst place. Even stores like Walmart & Target do not ask to see your identity. So if you card is lost or stolen, anyone can use it. Now I carry a "report" of stolen identity... and I check on my balance from the credit union at least twice a week.
Be careful!

Something tells me those medical statements were dictated to someone learning the job.
-
Just dropped in and howled over the medical statements... yuck yuck!!! Wonderful. We used to get a kick out of auto pilot checks on pulses when the patient was missing a leg.. Now that takes talent finding pulses on a nonexistent limb! Cool and cloudy maybe 65 degrees? Phylo Ihope you get your insurance $ back. I will also be on the phone come Tuesday trying to straighten out thousands of bills. ugh.. after I see the onc and beg for a drain placement. I feel like that Englebert Humperdink song from way back..."please release me..." I am sure that's a made up name and I am severely dating myself as over 55!
Loveroflife... nope our house in Davis was a little white cottage ranch 3/2, with a wood stained door and green shutters. We lived in old Davis which is just a great place to live. My DH planted a beautiful native plant garden that be bought starts from the ag extension at the farmers market. It was such a cute house. We had a big patio out back with white beams across in big squares and wisteria on each corner growing up and over the slats.. soooo pretty and just enough shade with ventillation for CA summers. Our back yard was lovely..trees little pond and a terrific redwood play structure my DH built for the kids. They spent hours playing on it as did many of the neighborhood kids. Our neighbors were upset when we put in a 3ft chainlink fence in the front to keep our special needs deaf kid from running out into the street. But we planted evergreen Ladybank roses (tiny tea roses and tiny leaves) and wove the plant through the fence. Within a year it almost covered it, making it look like a lacy green hedge instead of a fence. it was quite beautiful once the plants took off and excellent at keeping our kid in and safe. The house had crazy curb appeal and sold in 36 hours, even though it was only 1350 sq ft. and pretty basic. We have always subscribed to simplicity and live small as you can and lightly. Davis is pretty "Hippie Dippie and frquently called "the Peoples Republic of Davis!" I loved it and sometimes wish we never left.

Hot springs were lovely. The valley up to the springs was so beautiful, very green with all the rain this year. I had not been up there since April when the trees were first coming out. The weather was perfect, but I did get a wee bit sunburned. Aloe vera here I come!
