I don't know much about cats, but males are prone to bladder stones. Especially if they eat dry food, cats don't drink much anyway, unlike slobbery dogs
-
Smarty- good luck with catching the cat! It's probably a stone or crystals. Poor thing, he peed to tell you something was wrong. I hope he ends up ok! My vet says she gives one meal of wet food to up the water intake of her cat. Cats being desert animals don't consume enough she said.
Patty- glad you survived and sorry about the pain. I hope you get your strength back soon. We have had company and been on the move driving and walking and my hips are killing me and my feet and ankles swollen. Been fun though. Nice to have all my kids together for xmas, Wow so many dishes.. cleaning... yikes. tired!!!! Can't imagine having 7 extra or a bunch of teens and maxing out the electric and water! I am sick of eating big meals - how about a yogurt. simple.
Mags- loved the photos. Chevy you too.
Sass you missed your calling to be a teacher! Well you are kind of here, so you missed nothing! Never mind.
To all -have a happy pain free week.
-
spookie, your right. He has two large stones in his bladder. So sx tonight if there's nothing else wrong with him. Finally caught him about 12, and they had an opening at 2:30. They were able to get an ultrasound so could see the stones. He had to be put out for the X-ray and other stuff. Hes a very high strung cat around others. So I should hear more from the vet soon. If there's other things wrong, then he'll be put to sleep.
Sass, thanks for all the info. I'llkeep passing it on to the granddaughter.
-
Hello all, it's been busy here, and I just tried to reread the last few pages....
Smaarty, --what a tough day you have had.....hope it gets better. Do cats pass kidney stones on there own? That & shingles scare me.
Mags,- I had a MRI done on my left shoulder on Friday. Surgeon suspects torn rotator cuff or labrum tear? I had my right one repaired about 10 years ago. Yikes. Shoulders are painful. It is feeling better, cause I have not been to PT in a week or played tennis in 3 weeks. I will see The surgeon again next week to get the bottom line.
Welcome to Ronnie, Shelly & Sailing.....
BBL need to get something done.....
-
Poorkitty. Hope they can fix him up without breaking the bank!
-
Oh Smarrty, a furbaby problem, as bad as a human problem. We care so much for them. Non-pet owners never understand. Or non caring pet owners understand. Good luck, it's not anywhere close to easy with cats. Dear Sister had three---the trials and tribulations.Rose, I was always a teacher from childhood. Parents bred Collies. Thinking as I write 'Who taught Who'. When training pups you have to be well controlled and precise. Parents raised essentially four teachers. A teacher, a nurse, a cop, a priest. The collies were much a part of our learning. I taught from the first day of nursing in 1969 till..............But what was exciting about my parents was they encouraged us to identify the difference between what was, and think about how things could be different. Sweet.
-
HUGS ALL AROUND
poor kitty
Yea hopefully u won't have to take a 2nd mortgage out on u r house, lol
-
Sassy- did they raise border collies? I love border collies and have had 3- my favorite breed so energetic and playful. Your parents sound like good folks.
I hope they don't need to put the cat down. sigh... thank goodness for plastic. It has saved 2 of our animals.
-
the vet estimated $1500. Had to decide if he was worth that. I'm not as cLose to him as others but he'll get fix if that's the only thing wrong. He has been a lot more friendly than he used to be and the one that sleeps with me. I've always had a thing for orange tabbies. He's the third one in 47 years. The others lived to ripe old age. Haven't heard from the vet yet.

-
ok, I'm back....
Jwoo, - love, love, love that handkerchief. The pattern is lovely. What a fantastic find, and a reminder of FBB... Ok, what is your new avatar? Looks like a ? Astronaut, marshmallow ? not sure.
PattyP, - wish your pain would take a hike. So exhausting, I know. Are your boys out of school for another week?
Paw, you are one gracious hostess. I hope you are having fun, playing games, not just cooking & cleaning...
Chevy & Mags.....thanks for the photo...
Blondie, hope you can get it straighten out. Ridiculous.
Ok, my memory is going....
Sas, I have been doing a fair amount of thrifting. No glass, but other finds. I got some very old billard balls several weeks ago. Not sure what I will do with them yet, but I liked them & they were cheap. Also bought a old wicker chair yesterday. Really cute, lots of character. Needs painting, I will use it on the porch or patio.
Envera, I hope you had a great trip. Are you home? enjoyed your photo....
Anyone have special New Years plans? I do not. A little cold, sore throat going on. Maybe drag DH out to dinner. We have had 2 storms dump a fair amount of snow. Beautiful, but cold. High temp on Tues. is 15*. Too old for that...
-
Jwoo, I just visited London several times. If I'd lived there I would probably still be there. Know what you mean. I worked for an airline and then was a travel agent.
Smaarty, Hope the kitty gets fixed up. I have a soft spot for those orange boys too. Our vet, who had one, said they use up most of their gene pool by being male and orange tabby. So they tend to be a little goofy but loving and sweet. Ours was named Marmelade.
My cat catching routine is to hide the carrier in the tub behind the shower curtain. Lure the cat into the bathroom and close the door. Then get the carrier out.
-
Sas, have you told us before that your brother is/was a priest? Catholic?
Smaarty, sorry about the cat. Tough decision, I know what my DH would do. ( get me a new cat ).
Horrible news night with airlines & burning ferry....
I watched the movie "The Butler", tonight. it was interesting. Lost my zip, energy over Christmas. I have not worked on the house much. I am blaming it on this cold or allergy bug.
-
Hole-I lost mine too...hit the wall Saturday/Sunday, yesterday I was physically and emotionally off. I'm kind of blaming it on the Tamoxifen.
Smarty-sorry about the kitty

Jwoo-I wanted to mention how beautiful and sweet your FBB reminders were. ((hugs))
Wrenn-I'm a corporate travel agent...never a dull moment. Have you ever seen the Passenger Shaming page on Facebook? lol
Well back to work for me today. Hoping the weather doesn't make the day too crazy, but it probably will.
-
Hello ladies....in glad i took a vacation day today or I would have to call in sick. I did have some things I wanted to get done today. Now I'm mostly tired but what an awful night.
Holeinone...i wanted to see The Butler too. Was in on TV or Netflix?
Smaarty...Sorry about your kitty. I have three cats. They tell me one more would make me a crazy cat lady. Anyway, two of them are litter mates and 15 years old. One has kidney issues and the other has thyroid issues. I'm dreading these health related decisions. My other cat is 3 years old and makes sure the old two get their exercise.
I hope everyone is recovering from the holidays.
-
tinker is fine. Had his sx at 2 am. I've had to spend $1000 on two other cats that I ended up bringing home in a box. I didn't think twice about what it would cost to save them. Those two were very special. Still miss them. I'm a little sore in the upper poles and I see the doc tomorrow anyway. Today is the dentist! Oh yeah

I'm already a crazy cat lady. Tinker is 1 of 3 inside and there's 5 outside. A new one has taken buddy's place right after he died. I wonder how the neighborhood cats find us? Every once in a while a cat shows up that I've never seen, then I never see them again.
You guys have a good week and nobody comes home looking/feeling like this on the first!

-
Yay! Happy he's going to be ok!
-
Me too! I was hoping he would pull through.
-
Has anyone heard of this?
A family member was dx'd with BC on 12/11, she was told ER and HER positive and could do LX with chemo.
So fast forward to today and she has received a letter from the lab that says she does NOT have BC!! She is waiting on call back from the doctor to confirm wth is going on.
How could this even happen???
-
Tang, I think it is a mistake. Someone else current biopsy got mixed up with her name ???? Or something...but who the blankly blankly knows?
My use of profanity has escalated since BC. Actually I say it to myself mostly, unless a little wine is thrown in. I am wondering if I should make that part of New Years Resolution.
My News Years Resolution last year was to survive the chemo SE & rads. Yee ha, accomplished that !!!!!
-
Okay so I heard some more about this letter thing...not that anyone is that interested lol.
The letter was about her nodes, not the tumor in her breast. The letter apparently wasn't clear and she freaked out. how screwy right?
I wouldn't worry too much about profanity Hole

-
hi,just stopping by and sending smarty so cat lots of hugs I am glad he seam to be a fighter.
I am off to bed I must admit that trip these past days drained me out lol I just came back from work and I ll go to bed to try to catch up some sleep
I will post more pictures. Love u all, lhope you all get some sleep tonight
Smarty thanks for posting that picture is like I looked on the mirror lol that's how I feel lol
-
Well I am 4 pages behind. Surprise. I will attempt to read the 4 pgs this afternoon and catch up. Hope everyone had a joyous holiday celebration.
We had a good time with DD which was very nice but short. She did say she needs to come out more often. We had a nice talk after DH went to sleep mom/daughter. Not sure what is in her future. She likes where she works, just not making the salary she should make for degree/experience. She knows it but just not quite motivated yet to look. Still paying on her car. If she buckled down would be done in a few months. Then she would be more free. At least that's her reasoning. Not so sure it isn't just a rationalization.
I am so far behind because Friday afternoon I started with the crud. Had had a dizzy head off/on all week which I have had occas. for 20+ years. Well it was a little worse than normal. Then Friday - BAM. No point in trying to go to doc. He's 45 min. away. No doc in the box for me. If it's the flu, it is muted some. I've had the full blown flu and it's not this. If it's just a bad, bad cold no point in doc in the box. Have not run fever but nasal congestion unbelievable. Thank goodness I had a stock of soup and always have tea. The only miracle is so far DD does not have it and neither does DH.
Aw JWoo - I've looked at Cath Kidston stuff b4. Lovely things. Nice to make a memory of Kristine. My Welcome bluebird house banner hangs just beside my driveway, my memory maker.
Rose - I think I've seen a version of Into The Woods somewhere with Mr. Wolf is no doubt a Mister.
Mags - If I had to do rads now there is no way my shoulders would cooperate. Now Mags I never looked like that. Wow.
Pawprint - sorry about the water leak. I bet you by yourself don't put enough pressure on it to make it leak much. Not that you or any of us need to be wasting water. Hate plumbing problems. Visa account still taking a hit from the sewer mess. Hope you get to feeling better soon. I guess I'm a weirdo and shower every other day unless hot/stinky. Maybe they can cut back just a bit. Put a timer on like military showers.
Patty - sorry about the back pain. Hospital beds are the worst even the good ones now. Do you have any gentle exercises to do?
Smaarty - so glad you kitty is going to be OK. Hope your check with PS goes great tomorrow.

-
I'm a shower weirdo too then! Water has been restricted for years here and is very expensive! Unless I've done yard work, every other day for me.
We are hooked into reclaimed water for lawn, I don't use it, for those that do it's cheap and they have nice lawns
-
LMG, nice you got some time with DD. I hope you shake the bug & start to feel better. I can not imagine being so far out. I live in town, 3-5 minutes away from everything I need, want, participate in.
Tang, you & I would be ecstatic to receive that letter. No cancer in the nodes.....I would be high as a kite on speed.....lol... Not sure if that is the analogy, but you get it. Have you any idea why they sent this 2-3 years later?
I got my MRI results from hospital on the left shoulder. Lots of mumble jumble, labrum absent mostly, what is left blunted. The one that scared me was, bone marrow edema. But, according to google, that is common with chronic joint issues. Wear & tear, arthritis, inflammation. Something about a tendon being misaligned. I do not want surgery. My good friend told me "quit tennis". I go to the "big city" next Monday & see the surgeon again. This guy is highly respected, only works on shoulders...
-
Oh???? You mean we are not supposed to use profanity? US? Who knew? So then how do we talk all nicely and all, without using profanity?
(Just a question I thought I would throw out there)....
How can we talk without "profanity?" Oh wait until Cammi hears this.
Here's a brief synopsis... See, we can USE profanity when we grow up... like when we get older... NOT when we are kids, because it definitely causes people to LOOK at you with that LOOK!
So to use damn or hell in a sentence is just perfectly fine... OR just abbreviate it, because we ALL get it, and you can throw in a whole BUNCH of words, just by abbreviating!
Like WTHISTA... (whatthehellisshetalkingabout).... or if you run them all in together, they don't sound so bad... we here on this thread do this occasionally.... at least I do...
YOU tell them Ting! I mean TANG! No don't worry HIHO... It's just that when we get older, which SOME of us ARE, we can swear like a sailor, but choose to be more refined.... sometimes.
Like Cammi! She is the envision of refinement and subtleness... (It's okay.. she won't know what I am talking about anyway.)
Morning Enerva! You little Dickens! I told you I LOVE the hats and little darling glove things! YOU can read patterns, which I know nothing about! Thank you again... !
Spookers... just walk over to the beach by your house! You got all kinds of water there to clean up with! Or stand out in the rain even! Ha-haaa!

-
Little Penny Lane.... DD's dog in Orlando.

-
Aw Chevy, that is just the cutest doggy! (Can you tell I'm whispering so Rose won't hear?) I went & had PET scan today and am now relaxing in my new bed chair DH got me for Christmas. Wanna see it?

Knew you would.
LMG, I just can't imagine any way that it's going to be possible for me to do rads either. You know what I'm talking about. They can put the arm anywhere they want, but afterward they will have to move it because once it's there it will freeze, and then oh the pain! Well, I will see MO tomorrow for scan results and tell him what's going on. I will just refuse if there's no way to accommodate.
Cousin bought me a big bouquet of flowers and gave them to me after scan. I put them in the big crystal vase. (If it's crystal you can call it a voz instead of a vase.) I have it in the studio so I can see it from my new bed chair. I might just stay here.
Happy New Years Adam everyone!
-
Happy New Year's Adam, Mags & everyone! ♥
-
Mags! So does it play music? Is it heated? Does it vibrate? And do you have wine in that glass? It is BEAUTIFUL! And is that a big bag of chips at arms length? AND a hand-made quilt?
Yes.... Rosie will be jealous... we ALL are.... Ha!
Badger.... am I the only one going to ask you who "Adam" is? Happy New Years to ALL of us!
-
Hey Sas- if you come across any champagne, sherbert, or liquor glasses with this pattern: http://www.replacements.com/webquote/RKANOR.htm cheap- could you please grab them for me? A friend gave me quite a few of the wine and iced tea glasses, but i am on the lookout for the rest of them all the time so I can have more of a full set.
Mags- NICE CHAIR! Fingers crossed for great news on your scan.
Chev- cute pup!
HOle- fingers crossed they can get you fixed up without too much pain.
Luv- so glad you had a nice visit with DD. hoping you feel better soon. Do you use a neti pot? I swear by mine.
Enerva- glad you made it home!
Tang- well, glad it was cleared up, even if it caused a panic.
Smaarty- so glad about your kitty!
ok- back to work for me!
If I don't make it back by before tomorrow:

Love you ladies a ton!
