hi ladies, I am stopping by to post my new top lol not finish yet but it's a different one i think it will turn out as good as the others.
Pattypepermint, thanks tmw I will go to the market to buy the groceries from farmer so mostly good veggies.I will then prepare soup and other solid on Tuesday, planing on doing a good cleaning Monday. So hopefully will be ok on my own for the first week when I plan to eat mostly microwave food lol and fruit, soup and easy snacks. I got a friend who will drop me off at the hospital and a good friend who will pick me up in the afternoon, it's all good. My friend will bring me home and make sure I get my meds then I will be on my own but I will have you all here to recover with me lol
I also wonder about Blondie. Hope she is doing ok
Also Nikie from France.
Here is a pick at the top, hoping to finish by tmw

Lost haf of this post.
Also wanted to say I am sorry 🙏 you are having such pain. I will pray for you to get better soon .
-
Patty, sorry you have had such a difficult time, praying for you. Enerva, prayers for you as well, good luck with the surgery. Hope everyone has a pain free night.
-

trying to catch up... been job searching for about 10 hours (1 am here now) and my brain is fried. but if I don't catch up now, will be so much worse later (it's already morning)
Enerva, the outdoor bed looked so inviting! Even just that area. Way too crowded around here for that (and lots of spying police helicopters, they'd be overhead for sure)
GG, jealous that you live in a place where you could sleep outside! Would probably be joined by lots of critters here (oh, and my neighbors' dogs would be barking up a storm). I remember one time years ago when the kids were little, we set up the tent in the back and slept out there (kind of like the TV commercial). Was lots of fun but weird.
Susan, wishing and praying for a miracle for you! Take whatever time you need to rest up and heal. You know we will all be thinking and praying for you, right? Your attitude is amazing!
Tang, glad you popped by to let us know you're okay.
Jwow, glad to see you too! What a blessing your friend is doing so well - and to have you as a friend!
Chevy, ooh la la! What gorgeous legs! No wonder so much pole dancing for you!
I remember the typing, home ec (sewing and cooking) in school. Girls were not allowed to take auto, metal or wood shop back then. Nowadays, kids can type before they're 3 and don't even know the alphabet! Remember we had to learn cursive too? Now that's a lost art today.
Patty, OH MY! I looked up the procedure, that sounds extremely painful. Hoping that you were out when they did it. How are you feeling today? Big time pain relievers? And, yes, thanks, got the memory shadow box by Mom's door done as well as a small memory book (photos and images). The big 100-page one will be on hold for a while as I'm a bit burned out on that and need to continue focusing on obtaining employment.
For those who pray, add me to your prayers? Getting frustrated, overwhelmed and trying to keep optimistic, but at times, it's a bit difficult. I know there's a plan for me, but where's the crystal ball to go with it?
Blondie, so glad you popped in too,. Know that we're thinking of you and sending love your way.....
Smaarty, congrats to you on the long marriage! Did I read it right that you were married before you finished high school? Was it a secret marriage? Hoping you had lots of fun at the b-day party, looking all hot and slim in your new clothes!
Enerva, you are something, so very talented!! Do you have a supply of yarn at hand for after your surgery? Hoping you get some sleep before then.
Okay, calling it quits for the night. Too tired to eat, just want to fall into bed. On-line traffic school for me tomorrow!
Hugs and prayers all around.
Sorry I didn't address all those I missed, just tried to catch up.
I'm officially quitting now and getting off this computer!

Almost forgot my thought for the day:

-
OMG Patty WTF. u must be in so much pain, a hammer===I never heard of this happening, well obviously the dr. was in some shock. Oh u poor thing-honestly I read that 2x and really didn't understand how it happens, I can't even imagine that pain, it hurts thinking about it. Just keep on taking those pain meds as long as u have to. I'm so sorry.
2nd I think u'r overtired now and just frustrated. This is a battle (I've never called it a journey) and it just doesn't stop sometimes, whenever we got to the Dr. it's afight within, even dull pain anywhere it's like what now? I think someof us always "feel" cancer even if all is under control and we're tired of this beast inside of our head--But we keep on planning and praying all is going to be good and so many many times it is. So just hang in there u deserve to be happy. (((HUGS)))
Enerva just set up u'r area--I found a recliner is where I was most comfortable but where ever u decide and get anything thst u use during the day and night, u'r computer and remote (always) and it'll be OK.
Susan (((HUGS))) always.
Damn I wish I could remember more I'll close for now and go back reading. I did have some computer problems today tho. ???? Don't have a clue what happened.
-
Looked in and found some owlettes awake. And I am thinking about going to bed but I am likely to play scrabble with a fiend for a while as it is still early for us. DH says he turns the lights out in the street most nights, he comes to bed about 11.30.
Took this picture today -

A Tui- a native bird in a Kowhai tree.
-
Oh that outside bed--but I don't think now I would attempt that--I'd be scared of everything in the dark and noises and people too.
Oh Chevy and u try to say u never worked at a corner under a light. Oh we all know the truth, Those legs aren't just for wrapping around a pole.........
Oh yeas Shorthand and typing I took 2 years of that crap and Home EC and Art--Boy was I preparing for getting ahead in life. Those days not alot of women went to college altho my parents wanted my sister and I to go--we thought we didn't need to. Oh were we stupid. Cuz my brothers had to go, but they didn't push us like they did them. I admit I passed but only because these teachers for some strange reason actually liked me, and as my Art teacher said I couldn't get any worse. I remember doing my shorthand homework in my history class and my teacher caught me--and I said don't worry I do my history in another class and he looked at me and said that's not how u'r supposed to learn and all I thought was LEARN, I just need to pass. I was so incredibly stupid, my freshman year they put me in all "gifted" classes and I hated it and didn't want to be in them no one smiled ever. I wanted out and I talked my mom into the idea that they really made a mistake so she called my counselor and she said my IQ was incredibly high and I thought no no and reminded my mother all the stupid things I do and I won. What did I win? Not learning much that's for sure I was my own worst enemy. Oh well I did have fun tho, if nothing else. Yes Chevy at one time my IQ was high. now I think I'd barely make average, maybe.
And 47 yrs with the same man in HS--Wow what a long time--Amazing just amazing.

Morning gals!
Peppermint, is THIS what they did to you?
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/007511.htm
I am so amazed that they can fix this without major
surgery..... I mean you MUST have been in a lot of pain, even from this
procedure! It should work, right? How are you feeling this morning?
Smarty, Congratulations on the 47 years together.... well,
more or less...Ha! You really WERE young! I met DH when we were 18.... Well,
he was 17, and isn't it funny how you just fall head over heels..... Well wait a
minute..... I did that later.... Ha! But your brain just loses all control over
your heart, and it is on a mission! Your heart over-rules any sense your mind
is trying to impose, and you are a goner! But you know, it could be a lot
worse....Dutchess.... Internet Issues? Damn girl! Did you get
them straightened out?Enerva.... Dahhhhling top! Maybe about 30 years ago....
And I think I mentioned, Blondie is posting on another thread, for stage 4
only.... but all the gals on there sound so supportive and helpful with each
other....Let us know after your surgery, okay?
Oh WOW! BLONDIE, it's YOU! Yay! Hope
you are doing alright.... I think about you a lot, and glad you are back with
us.... Hope you have a great Sunday!222222222nd! You should have called....Ha! I was awake
at 2, and finally watched the Nascar race, on ESPN, and then got up at 3....
But I went to bed about 8....Yes, Enerva's bed looked sooooooooooo wonderful...
Hope your job search goes better next week...
Oh by the way, I should have clarified.... those were not
my legs..... My SHOES maybe but not the legs.....I LOVED the poem by Maya Angelou.... It's so
true....Cammi, you hit the nail on the head.... I mean we
shouldn't say that around Peppermint, but what you said about it not being a
"journey" is right.... Some gals ARE in a battle.... not just a cute little
ride on horse-back with a picnic lunch going on a journey somewhere!THAT was funny, about what you said, about "not having a
clue what happened" to your computer! We don't have to... Sometimes they
just go hay-wire, and we are at their beck and call... (whatever THAT means)
... It means they will call us when they get their "beck" fixed, and then it
will work again.Morning Alyson!
Oh wait.... The Cam is back.... What do you mean little
Raggamuffin? Me worked under a street light? Hah! We put rocks in a sock, and
threw them up there, and broke them to pieces! So no lights on for us....
Just the fire-flys.I didn't go to College either.... I know that amazes you,
but I thought it was more important to get married and have
babies.Besides.... they didn't have colleges in those
days...Oh wait...again! You were "gifted"...????? Like you got a
lot of presents for something? Gifted my a$$! In WHAT? Computer technology?
Phone skills? Or just being the bestest friend and Grandma anyone could ask
for? xoxoxoxoAnother fun site!
-
Good morning owlettes I am about to put my head on the pillow, listen to the 12.00 news and then shut my eyes and hopefully go to sleep. Hopefully won't see you until about mid afternoon EST.
Cat 2 is snuggled up and DH is snoring!!!
-
Oh that was sweet Chevette. What you said to Cami..well...the last bit anyway lol.
And yes, they used a hammer for vertebroplasties. I assist with these procedures at times. We have the anesthesia staff present for patient comfort. I hope your finding relief for your pain.
Smarty....Congratulation on 47 years. My parents just celebrated their 51st anniversary. She graduated at 17 and got married 10 days before her 18th birthday.
Blondie, it so glad you dropped in. I was getting concerned.
Alyson, always good to see you too.
Hugs for you Susan.
-
I sent this to both of our girls this morning....
Hi Honey! Yes, I got the Fairy Garden ideas! You will see mine, on a
>stand I have out back against the house! I will just cover it all for
the
>Winter I think... Or you can give me ideas on it!
>
>It was fun talking to you last night! I just had to tell you how happy
I
>was to get your room ready!
>Damn good thing SOMEone comes
every once in awhile, to get me up there to
>CLEAN it!
>
>I can just SEE you and Janie staying there over-night! We would be
>yelling up the vent for you two to go to sleep! Ha, ha! Maybe we
could get Dad
>to sleep in the car, so us girls could just go
hog-wild... >And then we could REALLY drive him nuts, all
trying to use the bathroom at
>once! I don't know how he survived!
>You can do whatEVER you want to do.... I'll fix you a snack
tray.... and
>you have to promise you won't be dropping stuff down the
floor vent....
>Or glue pictures to the wall anymore... And the kids
will promise not to
>throw darts from one end to the other of those
walls and ceiling up there!
>
>And Janie has to promise not to
start a Gro-room up there again.... Or
>have boys throw rocks up at
that window to get your attention!>Maybe we can even get Dad to promise he will never pound another damn hole up there to hang "whatever!"
>Okay honey.... Can hardly
wait to see you! Love you! xoxoxoxo Mom -
we had an earthquake at 3 am here. I was up at 2:30 then back to sleep. Never felt a thing. Not too bad size wise, 6.0. I'm curious to see how the new bridge did. No news on that yet. I don't think anyone on here is in the Bay Area. Sacramento doesn't usually feel much here, better ground. Only 80 miles away. Hope this isn't leading up to anything worse. Have to check on son that's in the area. He'll be moving to Australia in January. I'm sure he won't miss earthquakes. Alyson-does Australia get earthquakes? I know New Zealand does.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday. Got to work on the new PC some more. I'm getting there!

I'm not that bad, more like this-

-
Smaarty, just watching the news (on DVR, DH left the room and handed me the remote): OMG! Are you okay?? That was a biggy! Rocking and rolling (the house that is). Scary!
Our Cami, the brain! Many your brain was so smart all these years, it needs a big rest.
Chevy, might have considered calling if I had the number, been talking on the phone a lot lately. Oh, and thanks for the details about Patty's procedure. I'm envious of your relationship with your daughters!
Patty, as rough as this procedure was, did it help make you feel better? Were you awake thru it?
Alyson, I am glad you're back
PS, having gone to college isn't helping me one bit now
-

Waiting for friend to go and get coffee and look at a new bra exciting morning!!!
-
Had an awesome weekend!! Sure you all remember my birthday was Aug 4th, it was the big 50, I thought I had escaped without a bit tadoo!! Well since DH's birthday is Sept 8 (also his big 50) and our 30 year anniversary is Oct 20, our family gave us a surprise party Saturday night! We danced the night away and visited with family and friends,it was awesome!! Then today our dear GD turned 2, so we had a preparty for her at Chuck E Cheese!! Her official party will be next Saturday, due to the other party yesterday!! My poor pregnant daughter had her hands full planning both parties, but thankfully, she had lots of help planning ours, my SIL, DIL, Nieces and their other halves pitched in!! I didn't have my phone or a camera so I'll have to wait for pics from others, but I do have a video of myDS and one of the "performances" he did for us!

Can't see anything Nettie, not sure where it has gone.
Just in from my morning out, usually do coffee on Mondays with this friend. Not quite so bright out today and much cooler but it was a beautiful weekend.
Smaarty saw Napa valley lost a lot of wine poor things; now that will be good for our wine business but sad to see so much damage and people getting hurt.
Will fly through later and see who is up.
-
Nettie, I couldn't see it either.
Aly, how was the bra shopping?
-
Bra shopping went OK but mastectomy bras are soooooooo expensive here and I have never had time when I have been in the US to go shopping for such things. Got one to replace myold Boadicea bodice, well that's what DH calls it but they are comfortable and help the lymphoedemia. They other is a sports type bra which is front opening which makes life easy.
Is anyone actually awake?
-
yes, California is still awake, only 10:15 here. Any chance a 42" band would fit you? I can send you pics also. Would be happy to mail to you. Can't wear them and too big now anyway. I have 3 of them. Never wore 2 of them.
Sacramento is fine. The news this morning made it sound like a small EQ, but tonight it's showing a lot of damage. Napa is about 70 miles away.
-
Thanks Smaarty, too big here also. I gave mine to the BC nurse who would pass them on to ladies who couldn't afford proper bras.
Getting dinner on so will be back soon.
-

Morning Blondie & Alyson, and now I forget who else!
I've just been on "chat" with Norton security, TRYing to download the new version of the program that expired! What a PITA! But he worked my computer remotely, and it is all finished now.
I just had to "remodel" my good bra's! Had to take the cup in.... So I made diagnal cuts in each cup, and overlapped them, and stitched it all up, and now the cup fits better.
I thought I was going to have to stuff them with kleenex, like we USED to... Ha!
I'm just still trying to get the house ready for DD coming! It's been about 4 years since I have seen her! Just wish I could hold her on my lap like when she was little again.... We talk all the time, but now I'll get to SEE her!
Blondie, you doing alright? I think of you lots.....
-
Good Morning----
Nettie what a great time u'r family gave u==how wonder for you and u'r DH.
I'm saying hi to everyon e quicklycuz I'm loosing posts--have to get this comp. checked out. Chevy u are so excited, I don't blame you about u't Dd coming--u will have such a good time. I'm so glad.
Oh BTW the weather here is so muggy and my SIL just told me about the earthquake I pray everyone is safe. I really don't watch the news.
-
Cammi little honey.... There IS no news..... No, don't watch the news.... it usually isn't good anyway. So no news is good news.
That earthquake she was talking about was about 20 years ago, I think....
-
Some of you may remember these "easy times!"
-

Ok, still don't have any pics from my daughter or SIL who was taking pics, but this is one snapped by a friend from their phone, that's why it's blurry! That's me and DH on the dance floor and the preggo is my DD and the young lady with the baby is my niece! They were watching us "try" to line dance! It was a good night!
Morning to everyone, sorry the link didn't work!
-
good morning ladies. Thanks to everyone who responded. Feeling a lot better today. Thanks Chevy for posting the procedure. I had it done once before and they did a bone biopsy at the same time but not nearly as much hammering. Dr said those bones had had radiation which is why they were so hard. Yes they actually used a few hammers that looked like a rubber mallet. Yes I was awake. Dr said when he was done that is was by far the hardest bone he had ever worked on he apologized and said he should have put me to sleep and if there is a next time he will. Weird how hard the bones were but they break so easily when I do absolutely nothing. I am still black and blue and green. But def better this morning.
Smarty - I seen that earthquake on tv. How scary.
Nettie. - what an awesome family you have. Congrats on 30 year anniversary. Very rare these days. Sounds like you had an awesome time. Hope all that dancing didn't cause more back pain.
Blondie / so glad you posted. Hope you finally got some sleep last night so you can enjoy your gs today.
Alyson - in USA mastectomy bras are free with insurance. I can get them twice a year. I have 2 or 3 mast bras that still have the tag on them too big now. Size 38b I would gladly mail them to you for free if you could use them.
Chevy. Do excited for you that your dd is coming for a visit. How long will she get to stay ? Seems like she lives in FL, right ? Have you been crazy busy cooking all her favorite foods? Well whatever y'all do I hope you make some new great memories.
Cami - only 7 more hours Til school is out and kids are home. Counting down the hours.
Susan - if you are lurking ( I know you are taking a beak ) just wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
2nd / big hugs
Enerva . Sounds like you are prepared for surgery and recovery.
Hi to all I missed. Hope you have a great day
Hootie hoo
-
Patty, yes, my extended family is pretty awesome! And about the back pain, went straight home and took pain med woke Sunday morning with NO issues! That is, no more than usual! Thanks!
