Nettie, totally creepy....
How much yard work do you think she is capable of getting done ? Housework ? Cooking, bathing, folding laundry, meeting new people & shaking there hand ? Yikes.....
-
EWWWWWWWWW get some pruning shears.
-
Lee - my DH says the same thing about scorp. Why the heck then do they live in the desert?
Spookie - let me get the pruning shears for her. Hope she never ends up in hospital with those things. Imagine changing a bandage or stripping a drain? Guess she never takes those rings off.
Nettie - we bush hog here in Texas too. Think maybe someone thought it was cuter than "brush" hog.
That goat is just a potty accident waiting to happen. Cleanup in Aisle 3. And a goat that size will make a nice puddle.
Love all the garden pictures. We had a lovely rain about 6 am and its only 72 here at 11 am, at least my patio therm.
To add to the morning coffee
-
Those nails are simply disgusting - its difficult to believe that anyone would be proud of looking that lazy.
-
how did I miss moving to this thread this year? I wondered where everybody was! I tracked you down by Miss Phyllis ankle bracelet. Phylo, had you in my heart since our pm last week.
I do need to go to Wal Mart today, but I guess I better fluff up in case any of you guys are in Okla. With your cameras ready. I hate it as much as getting a tooth filled.
-
OMG I just got done reading and thought NOW I should post at the end of each page cuz now it's all gone in my head.
Chit someone's getting operated on today, I forgot now Tang? (((HUGS)))
Chevy where did u get that ancient pic of my on the pole, wow you do research things don't you.
Hi Patty, welcome back/
And I love all the pics. funny and real--I wish I could put pics on here too, I don't have a clue.
And Susan PM'd me and offered her help in any way--she's so sweet, I was touched with that offer really. Cuz too where she lives isn't that close to me.
Joey had his BD party Sat. and I got all dressed up for him and was there for the whole thing. so I was flat on my back yesterday and today I'm still foggy but I go in a little while for a test and see my Doc tomorrow, who wants the test done. Next week is my new Dr. and that stupid peeectomy. But Chevy please don't worry about me, sometimes I jut get so tired and hurt that I'm not posting at all. It's just me. But my crazy DD wanted to take me to ER on Joey's day for his BD and I said no so I really had to stay for all of it like nothing was hurting or anything, so I got extra knocked out. She's an ER groupy tho.
Hmmm I'm going to put a bar of soap under my cushion tonite, but not tell anybody cuz for sure I'll be on another floor in the hospital. But u never know if it works til u try it. and I don't doubt anything anymore.
OK gots to get ready--yea right--3 mins cuz I'm wearing rags and I don't care.
-

IT'S MONDAY
-
Someone (can't remember who) called SAS. She said she's fine, just taking a break.
In your pocket Tang.
Cami, Sorry you're hurting so much. Hope you feel better soon. I had a robo call today touting some new legal drug for pain. They will send it in the mail and your insurance will pay. Right! And I might buy a bridge right after.
Lovely yards. Ours looks like a jungle. I would post a photo, but it won't let me. Think of perennials packed as tightly together as possible, with ordinarily short plants growing 2 feet tall looking for sun. Now think of them all in bloom. It's pretty but overwhelming at the same time. There's just enough grass to put 2 lawn chairs.
-
Hah Beatmon I've been in the WalMart in Norman, the one on 35. Lol.
I think Spookie called Sassy. But this sure is a long break. Just wish she'd check in then check out again.
Our creekside is slowly attempting to overtake the yard. Thank goodness for the split rail. DH at least has to move up to it. The 1st year we moved out here I complained to DH about an airplane that made repeated passes over the yard. Man came by selling aerial photos of house - of course we had to buy it. Shows just how much jungle has grown up. The creek is rarely dry always has some stagnant water - yes I do have some bats and flycatchers to eat mosquitoes. Dallas (or maybe FW) PH dept. says West Nile is stronger in drought as mosq. are stronger if fewer in #. So maybe less chance of getting bit but worse case if you are. We've had a surprise shower and getting a few more.
Lovely to see you Cami. In your pocket for all your appts as needed.

hubby will b working on changing the internet later....oh boy ...I hope I can get back on when he is done...if you don't hear from me in while....no fears...just trying to figure internet out...and we are both...well....not so good...lol
Hope to b back on soon
-
goatgirl - WTH did you just say? Something about skeeters. I couldn't follow it all.
I'm glad cammomile is back and posting irrelevant stuff!
blessings, what a beautiful garden/gazebo!
Now for the bad crap - The "hot spot" in the bone scan has turned out to be a 1" lesion and MO wants a PET scan and a CT guided needle biopsy. That's what SHE wants. What I want is a quart of rum and a couple of joints. After that I won't give a crap who wants to do what.
My girlfriend said to drink the rum then sit on my front porch and drag cute guys into my house. That sounds pretty good too!
Since I don't have the rum yet, I had a therapeutic apple fritter. YUM!

Phyllo - health dept. says that even though fewer mosq. d/t drought that they are stronger, bigger, fly farther and bite more aggressively. They are attempting to develop a model for West Nile virus. 2012 was very bad for it here, not so bad last year.
http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2014/06/04/research-may-pr...
Oh Phyllo my thoughts are with you. You gonna do it there or Houston? Any chance it's always been there - like a normal part of you anatomy? DH has gotten into those buckets of margo's you keep in the freezer. Dig in. You got my permission. Or the rum - whatca gonna mix it with? Apple fritter with rum -
-
Oh my this thread runs fast! Took a break and now I feel like I may need to re-introduce myself! Welcome to the new owlettes and welcome back to the returning ones.
Got pages to catch up....
-
i know... Dip the apple fritter in rum, then eat it. Sounds great - the bone mets not so much. Keep your chin up phyllowithrumapplefritters
-
phylo: come stay with me...I've got two extra bedrooms...and we can make road trips to Colorado cause it's legal there....and you would love my doc. And I like rum any day. I'm so sorry you have to go through all of this testing again. My sister in law that had breast cancer 20 years ago ( and still fine) had spots show up on her skull. All the drs were convinced she had very bad juju and days were limited....until she told them she had climbed on the bed to clean the ceiling fan but forgot to turn it off! Yip, that's my family.(and yes, she goes to Wal Mart daily)
By the way, my sister in law on the other side now has bc...so instead of 1-8 we are 100%, and not blood related! Maybe we should buy lottery tickets together.
Luv my goats, we have had so much rain, I know we are going to have terrible mosquito trouble too. Hate to complain with all the drought though.
Phylo, love you.
-
Ok, tang hope you are holding out and not to hungry.
Cami, good too hear from you.
There are others here that I don't know...nice to meet you.
Wishing the best to the rest.
Saw new dr, still no answers. He concurs...no need for tests. So I guess that means I'll continue to worry and wonder. Don't know what else to do. I have no idea how to get answers. So I'm done with it. If it's the big c...it just is. I'm tired of begging for test. I'm dso discouraged.
Did find out I have a little sinus Crap, but Just to take over the counter meds. UGH!!!!!!
Will find out so knows when if thyroid is off, they are testing it but only the TSH, AGAIN UGH!!!And I specifically asked for a complete work up, but no go.
I'm so disgusted I'm sitting here crying. No one understands that I need answers.
Ok..pics of my place showing what I mowed..Well they want post so I'll try out in a new post.
-
Tang - sorry you have to be hungry. Just make sure that they know we've got your back if they mess up.
For my treatment I think I will opt for all of you jumping on my chest while holding and eating rum-soaked apple fritters. Oh and if Vinny is around he's the one that I want to hold my ass. Really, I mean it. It's a treatment that has not been documented ANYWHERE! We'll be the first and Sassy can write the paper on it.
-
There you have it, my humble abode -
Nettie - looks lovely and well mowed. Remind me again what part of the country you live in. The dog crates turned up against the fence looks very familiar. I have 2 giant ones, 1 large and several smaller ones. Just looked - most of mine are disassembled and stacked up against patio wall. How many acres do you have? I'd have to log onto my account but I think I got TSH and T4 tested. Exercise - wanted to smack my PCP. I must admit this was March when outdoor exercise is possible in Texas. Now you'd have to be up at 4 am.
OK Phyllodinkster - we'll ring up Vinnie.
I have managed to make potato salad for dinner. Not many ambitions today.
-
HI ladies, just stopping by to wish you all a great week. Well I got some sleeping pills lol that's why I haven't been around here much
will try to go back and catch up. As usual....
-
philyyyyyy, so sorry u have to go for more tests...when I am worried, I have been known to eat a whole coffee cake.....in the parking lot with my feet hanging out the window...something freeing about that.
Nettie, sorry no one will listen...very frustrating ....go with the rum and apple fritter...love all the property...I am jealous ...I live in a subdivision...35 miles outside of chicago. Used to be apple orchards, and fruit stands and fun country stuff. They have built it up soooooo much and took down all the orchards and no more fruit and veggie stands...they took my country away...it is sad...glad some of you still live in the country......I love it, and miss it.
Hey everyone else
I think he is going to start working on the internet connection....oh boy
Signing off for.....who knows ?
-
Hey Owlettes,
I know I've been MIA, feeling a little guilty about that and now I'm home with the flu, sleeping, reading, sleeping, coughing, sleeping, taking meds, sleeping, feeling crappy but happy to have some down time.
Some good news....I didn't tell you all that DH entered an outpatient intensive rehab program 6 months ago. He's been sober ever since and our family life is loving and peaceful. He's getting out more, doing more, and DS is home from college and they are doing a lot together. DS has really grown up into a wonderful young man, very industrious, caring, doing a lot of the housework now that I am working so much. He's been trying to get a summer job, applications and interviews - but job market very tight, no one wants a short hire.
After all the trauma of losing my job, breast cancer, alcoholism, etc, it's so nice to have a peaceful existence. I've been working long hours in hospice, learning a lot, studying for my boards and listening to french tapes while I drive between home visits! What a great way to pick up some language skills! My Jazzercise group is going on a trip to Europe next October, mostly in France.
What an eye opener it is making home visits with families from every walk of life. I no longer think I have a messy house! Most people's homes are far messier, some downright, er, let's just say I put shoe covers on before I go inside. 99% of the people are great, regardless of their address, poverty, wealth, education. Another interesting finding is how many people live in multigenerational homes, just like my grandparents did.
Hope you are all well and happy, I miss you and love you!
-
Luvmygoats, I live in Louisiana.
Susan3, I have family around the chicago area.
Hope tang is out of surgery.
Shellshine I'm sorry you have the flu.
-
3 of the 5 that insist on being in my chair with me. -
4 & 5 And one more that watches tv. -
To bore you one more time, this is the one that watches tv.
-
Nettie- your place is beautiful and so are your pups!
-
Jwoo, thanks.
But they are not mine, we are boarding them, we run a kennel, but these don't stay outside.
One of them. The larger yorkie, is my grand pup, my son and his wife are on vacation, the others are clients.
