INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

thang...I am on chemo for life.. That is until they run out if chemo...I have three more in my arsenal. And I do believe it's your interpretation of what survivor means to you. I definitely call myself a survivor....cause I am not dead yet...lol. I break things down as simply as I can...alive = surviving .
Remember the song....born to die . So as long as we are all still here...we are survivors ( with lots of side effects)

camillegal, is correct, BC is a never ending *whatever* road!
My yearly mammogram brings Me back to the *whatever* road!

Blessings - Are you missing a long lost sister and could it be me? The Story about odd sounds - lip smacking, gum chewing could be me. DH is a bowl/plate scraper too and a gum fanatic. I guess I'm a lip chewer and prob. a bowl scraper as well. Love, love the thing about nose whistler. I had a boyfriend who was lip smacker, they stuck together and gads the sounds they made. He's a rather imp. lawyer now, maybe they correct those things in law school - presentation is important.
Nettie - I see lots of answers about scalp hair pain. Makes sense it hurts leaving, why shouldn't it hurt coming back. I would never underestimate what pain can touch. Bound to be sensitive. I've never had a wax job - ladies it that painful coming back in?
Susan Sweetie - I think I'd have found a violent excuse to leave those conversations. Do I wish I had that crystal ball - yes. DH asked me once why we didn't move out here to the country when I grad. nursing school. That thought never crossed my mind - in fact I worked with a nurse who did live out here and I thought she was cray cray. No amb/fire ready by. That did change in the nearly 20 years we delayed the move - now have a good staffed daily/vol. night & weekend fire dept. and 2 amb. in town. Yes I wish we had done it then but better late than never.
FierceOne - bless the doc's heart for checking those ole nodes b4 he went poking. Just wish he'd done it b4 you'd gotten there. Loved Ziggypopster's gown flapping (and other things) reference.
Quatre - hoping fin enhancement goes wonderfully well today. Make those burly boys/girls lift those goodies for you on Friday. What did you end up making?
Pawprint - hope you and Annie Mae are resting well. Hugs for both of you.
JWoo (though I do like JWow!) - all those cats on the bed would make me hot and not a good hot. I think that's why I have insomnia on occasion. Woke up frankly sweaty last night. Never had hot flashes even in meno. Maybe I need a fan beside the bed not just the ceiling fan. Too early in year to be hot.
I too didn't understand Sassy and the horse reference.
Lee A - Is this a Jimmy Buffet song too? "They got an apartment with deep Pile carpet And a couple of paintings from Sears"
Tang - so the short term leave is a good thing for you? Great. Loved your smiling picture. OMG news is on. Predicting 1.5 inches of rain for us over the weekend. Hate that it's Memorial Day weekend but bring it on. Noticed yesterday how yellow dry the fields are getting already.

I believe sas was thinking about Her *Member and Mods: discussion and debate* thread!

Nettie, handsome dog! I also have sensitive scalp issues at times. It can really hurt too! When my head was first shaved when I started chemo, I thought never again will I rub my son's buzz cut because I never realized how much my "hair" hurt! Mine comes and goes though.
Alyson, great trip photos. Love the title too!
JWoo, I want some sleepy cat magic! I can't sleep with my cat because my husband has asthma. My animals sleep downstairs, but there is nothing like falling asleep to purring.
I'm allergic to tetracyclines. Was on doxycycline for a week before I found out. Woke up with huge hives one morning and itching like heck!
Geez, I didn't know there were all those interactions with Levaquin. I guess that's why it's important to read those papers they send you home with from the pharmacy! I took Levaquin for 10 days and didn't think twice about it.I know I took NSAIDS and probably aspirin with it too. Yikes!
Ziggy loved the scarf photos! That Chevy is a woman of many talents. I was eating lunch with the tv on one day and saw an episode of People's Court where a pole dancer sued because she got her toe caught in the floorboard. Ripped her nail off. I think it was Chevy with her broken hip, but changed it to toe cause she didn't want to be embarrassed.
Lee, I feel the same way. Rarely do I meet anyone who has gone through this and if they have it was a blip on their radar screen. I've had problem after problem, I know the people with issues tend to hang around the boards, but geez! I'm starting to think the boards bring bad luck!
Here's me caught on the security camera yesterday:

FBB, my "hair" did hurt when it was coming out, but I never expected it to hurt while growing in, don't we grow hair all the time when not on chemo?? I'm just hoping that this pain is just that and not mets!! It does come and go, but today it has been with me since I got out of bed, and it was there off and on yesterday, but not at all the day before! Go figure! This C stuff is so frustrating and confusing and the not knowing when to check on things! -
Re Jimmy Buffett: My Head hurts, My Feet Stink, and I don't love Jesus. Good song.
Stepped on a pop top, hurt my heel had to cruise on back home. But there's booze in the blender........
Levaquin is one nasty drug! It can cause muscle problems YEARS after you take it, like torn muscles. I'm Alergic to it
-
I love this photo!
-
Good one!
-
TEKA!!! I had a nasty riding accident and could have taken that photo!
Whew...okay I'm over my flashback. Carry on...
-
Chevy - You hiding in the basement. I read tornado warnings for Denver. Tornado headed for airport breaking on Fox News just now.
-
FBB,
-
And that horse is wearing a blanket not a saddle, so I'm really fine. Uh....looks nervously around....really I'm okay!
-
-
goats, that's awful! Fingers and toes crossed for Chevy!
I'm even more traumatized now. I'm really scared of tornadoes. Poor Chevy.
-
I actually think Chevy is on the opposite side of town, I know she's said b4 what part. I think more NW or W maybe. She worked at Coors which was I guess at the time in Golden which is def. west part of Denver.
-
I KNOW! The sirens went off, and they were LOUD! Skies were black, but so far just a little rain... It's black out East, around the Airport... We are still under a Tornado warning... The highways look like they are covered with deep snow, but it is only hail! Cars pulling over, trying to get out of it...
I'm just hanging inside... got my tomato plants covered, just in case...
Oh, DIA is closed, because of the storms! What a mess... ! I'm glad DH is home now... I was wondering where I could go HIDE.... but I'd probably fall down the basement steps...Ha!
-
Good plan he can help you. I have become a voyeur of TVNWeather but do realize I'm watching people's lives blow away. Watching the 11 storm chasers just on this site on the east side of Denver.
-
Scary stuff...be safe Chevy!!!I would have loved to be a storm chaser though, it fascinates me!
-
Tang - so long as I can watch it on the net. Otherwise I'd be in my storm shelter, spiders and all. (Reminder to me to have DH check it again this weekend)
-
Seriously these are the next best thing. Numerous feeds some with sound. Some better than others. (The one I'm on has sound and saying tornado on the ground thru their weather radio).
Looks nasty ugly on the radar.
Not getting my house cleaning done today. DD coming Friday. Oh well, she's used to it. But I again must clear off her bed of clean clothes, excess blankets.
-
I love the flower owl - stole it - hee hee

Are the threads slow?
Or has the Moderators found a new way to taunt Our butts?
-
Slow as in not much activity or slow as in net moving slowly like molasses? I think just a pretty afternoon and not many people on.
-
teka great horse pic..boy did that make me laugh....it looks the the horses expression is saying....gotcha ya...lol
Be safe Chevy
I hide when I hear the sirens...the neighborhood goes out to watch...they r crazy...I am not crazy . Ok...maybe a little
-
I know Susan.... It didn't SEEM that close! But they make sure we are warned... The cars out front, are COVERED with leaves that the hail tore off the trees SOMEwhere! Man, glad it wasn't around here.... All my flowers would be history.
-
Chevy - Showed the Dick's sporting good store "field" covered in hail. Looked like knee deep in snow. This on our local news. Hoping we don't get that result but sure do need the rain.
-
Net moving slowly like molasses!
